odd,strange,but very true baseball trivia...

i have three trivia questions of the 1968 MLB season:how many players hit .300 in the American League,that season??? answer:one,only one:Carl Yastrzemski .301,for the Boston Red Sox... what baseball team hit a collective .214-the lowest for the iconic franchise for a season... answer:New York Yankees... finally:what pitcher had an ERA of 1.12,but actually lost nine games that season,in a 22-9 season??? answer:Bob Gibson of the St. Louis Cardinals...

two class acts...

the Super Bowl may have been a real beatdown... however,Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning,and Seattle Seahawks' cornerback Richard Sherman both showed total class in their interviews,and their humanity,after the game... the media scrum around Manning was classic Peyton:he sat there and answered every question,and yet got "insulted",when a reporter asked him if he was embarrassed by the game... he mentioned that he would not said that,because he mentioned the real effort that he and his teammates put into the game,and he totally refused to throw anyone under the proverbial bus,and he gave the Seahawks credit... Sherman was gracious in his comments about the game,and honestly felt bad about the Broncos losing the game... he also mentioned that Manning asked him about his high ankle sprain,and gave him kudos for being a class competitor,and person,period... those two people are part of the real class of the NFL...

beatdown of the year,,,,

Seahawks 43,Broncos 8.... Seahawks stomp and crush Broncos into mush,without a doubt!!!!!!!! was 36-0,before Denver even scored... this is THE beatdown of the year... Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII Champions!!!!!!!!!!

i may not like "Da Bears",but have to give absolute kudos to Charles "Peanut" Tillman... through his Cornerstone Foundation,he has helped people from Chicago to Cambodia(building schools)... he was 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award winner... this has nothing to do with his on the field play for "Da Bears",and for that,i give him a deep hat tip...

Packers' rookie running back Eddie Lacy won NFL offensive rookie of the year... never say never moment(play of the year):down 28-27,4th and 8:Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb,48 yard touchdown,with 36 seconds left,in game,in week seventeen,to beat the Chicago Bears,in Chicago,to boot,and win the NFC North Division crown,33-28... my opinion:loved to crush the Bears' heart,and rip it out and then show it to them... that play made my entire Packers' year... i "despise" "Da Bears" that much...
