Donavan McNabb came out of the University of Syracuse, went to Philadelphia Eagles, showed real talent, leading Eagles to,i believe, five NFC Championship games, and one Super Bowl, got basically dumped to Washington, after sub-par season, for him,and booed by fans in Philadelphia(they booed Santa Claus, after all),then got demoted to second string, and then third string,by Mike Shanahan(what a crock of a coach!!!)... the explanation of his demotion was pure Shanahan, and without class, and McNabb showed true class by not saying a word about the decision, but he was clearly disappointed...
the trade to Minnesota seemed to be a clear and very good change of scenery, but losing first three games of season, after having double digit leads,at the half,of all three games, including a 23-0 lead, against the Detroit Lions basically doomed McNabb, and he was replaced,by Christian Ponder, before the first Packers' game, telling fans of the Vikings that Minnesota was in rebuilding mode,no matter how well Ponder did play(he has done very well),but Minnesota has too many holes on offense, and an aging defense,to be serious contender, and even if McNabb went to Minnesota,it was not a good fit,for McNabb, and Minnesota thought they needed one piece to be a Super Bowl contender, after the debacle, and the circus,of what Brett Favre was... they were dead wrong... McNabb has been very quiet, and a true classy person, and whatever he does, after this release, may he find true happiness...
