feel good story...
this blogpost is about Aaron Collins, who died on July 7,2012... he wrote his brother a note shortly before he died... one thing that he wanted his brother to do:buy a pizza, and give a tip to the waiter(not your average 25% tip),but an amazing tip of $500-(not a misprint),to show that people like the waiter,or waitress unexpected kindness... one time,Aaron had a miserable dining experience, and still gave the waiter,or waitress a $50- tip... so remember that dose of kindness to people...
Philadelphia Eagles' team analysis for the 2012-2013 NFL season...
"Dream team",no more? the Philadelphia Eagles were 8-8,last year, but won last four games, last season, and it seemed that they were getting better, later on,last season... they were just awful early last season, but honestly, with all the free agents they had,and a new defensive coordinator, who was their offensive coordinator the year before,in 2010... with that much turnaround on their roster, and their coaching staff, they were a trainwreck waiting to happen, and with a dysfunctional, but very talented offense(not everybody was happy, griping about things)and with Michael Vick being injured some of last year(he has missed some of the past few years, because of his playing style, and injuries),they were tough to play, because you did not know what team you were playing, from week to week, except the last four games, because they seemed to gel, late in the year... so if they can stay healthy, they may be in the playoff hunt, and possibly win the NFC East, even with the Super Bowl Champions New York Giants in that division, because honestly, they have enough talent to win their division, especially on defense, but with Jason Babin, out with injury(as of today, they say Babin will out 2-3 weeks, with a partially torn calf muscle),they may have a tougher time fixing that hole,if Babin is really hurt, more than they say,but with a talented defense, they will be tough to beat, and watch out,NFC East!!!!!!
update on Brett Favre...

NFL news...
in an interview with SI's Peter King,New Orleans Saints' quarterback Drew Brees openly ripped NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, saying that,"Nobody trusts him",and saying other things, basically saying that suspensions, and other player discipline are already fixed, before the player interviews, done by the Commissioner...
my opinion:i am getting very disgusted, and tired of his big mouth, because he does not know how to simply shut up,because the Saints have many things to overcome,to be a very good team, which,on paper, they will be a very good team... it is simply sour grapes,Drew, that you are talking about... your organization got caught, with their hands in the big cookie jar,of doing something wrong,by NFL security, and then the whole organization lied, cheated, and told players(Anthony Hargrove)to lie,and told other members,"to get all your ducks in order",when the NFL investigated the Saints' "bounty" scandal, more than three years ago... Drew, you just do not like what happened, with the suspensions,of all four NFL players, including Jonathan Vilma(barring a temporary restraining order),but honestly,i do not care what you believe,at all,period...

Kansas City Chiefs' team analysis, for the 2012-2013 NFL season...
the Kansas City Chiefs were 7-9,last year... last in AFC West, but all three teams ahead of them, were 8-8,last year(tight division)... they gave the Green Bay Packers their only regular season loss,19-14,last year... they lost Eric Berry,Tony Moeaki, and Jamaal Charles,to major injury, within the first three weeks,of the 2011-2012 NFL season,so they only scored 212 points all season, which really sucked, and the Chiefs' defense, which did harass Aaron Rodgers all day,in their best game,of last season, and were very good most of the year, but with Eric Berry, not in the defensive backfield, due to injury, they got worn down, later in the season... all three have been very good early in training camp, and should be starters, come the regular season, and the Chiefs should improve, and really contend for the AFC West division title... only question:can Matt Cassel return to his 2010 form,as quarterback??? if he can,the Chiefs will be better, this upcoming season, than last season...
blog statement...
in my posting of NFL teams annual analysis,i will post the Super Bowl Champions New York Giants, last, even though they had a regular season record of 9-7,last season...

Seattle Seahawks' team analysis, for the 2012-2013 NFL season...
the Seattle Seahawks are banking on two quarterbacks,Tarvaris Jackson, and a quarterback who has had only two NFL starts, but signed a three year,$26 million dollar contract,in the off-season,in Matt Flynn and a running back,in Marshawn Lynch, who they call the "Beast",but Lynch still may face NFL discipline, for off-field stuff, this off-season... the key to the Seahawks' season will be three-fold:one)their overall defense, which was not too bad last season, two)their running game, with Lynch, being their best offensive weapon, and three)an improvement with their overall quarterbacking(Flynn being the starter, instead of Jackson, because you do not pay a quarterback, almost nine million to sit on bench),and finally can Pete Carroll improve,as Seahawks' head coach??? the major problem that the Seahawks had last season was simply inconsistent quarterbacking, and problems on the offensive line, which really has not improved, over the off-season... they are a team that could contend for the playoffs,if everything falls just perfectly, but with the San Francisco 49ers much improved, over last season's surprise 13-3 team, the Seahawks will fight the Arizona Cardinals for second place,in the NFC West, and also for a playoff spot...

in an update on the hearing involving suspended New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma,no temporary restraining order was issued yesterday,by Second U.S. District Court Judge Helen G. Berrigan... however, seven current and former teammates, and Joe Vitt(Saints' interim head coach-suspended for the first six weeks,of the 2012-2013 NFL season),testified,in support of Vilma, and the way that NFL.com wrote the article,i would expect one, but, again,i have been wrong before,folks...
Washington Redskins' team analysis, for the 2012-2013 NFL season...
RGIII-MANIA!!!!!! the Washington Redskins were 5-11 last year, but the hype about Redskins first round pick Robert Griffith III has been like he is the best thing since Coke!!!! he has not taken a NFL snap, yet, but pundits are hard-selling his potential,as a NFL quarterback... last year, the Redskins had a very good defense, and offensive line, but their receiving corps was one of the worst, but injuries took out their best receiver(Fred Davis)early in the season, and their quarterback tandem(Rex Grossman, and John Beck)were simply putrid,as quarterback,so Griffith III is a definite upgrade... Tim Hightower, and Roy Helu,Jr. should steady the running game this season... in a ironic twist, the Redskins did beat the Super Bowl Champions New York Giants, twice, last year, but honestly had only three other wins, last year,so they will improve, but their record may not show much of an improvement, with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Giants in their division, their improvement may not be record-wise,and it will be a major dogfight in the NFC East... question:will the Redskins improve enough to fight for the division crown? no... too much talent on the other teams, and not too much of an improvement,talent-wise,for the Redskins, but that division, like i said,is going to be a dogfight,folks...

Miami Dolphins' team analysis,of the 2012-13 NFL season...
the Miami Dolphins were 6-10,last season, replaced their head coach, was 4-4,at home, and actually had a 1,000 yard rusher(Reggie Bush-1,086 yards),but can he be an every down back, and back up his own boast,of leading the NFL,in rushing, for the 2012-2013 NFL season... they have Matt Moore, and David Garrard fighting for the starting quarterback job, with rookie Ryan Tannehill backing them up,but everyone knows that you do not pay Tannehill first round money,to sit,so expect him to play some this year, and be the starting quarterback starting next year... the Dolphins' defense actually played very well, because the Dolphins scored more points,on offense, than they gave up points,on defense(329-316),last season, played competitively, beat the Buffalo Bills twice, and beat the New York Jets,in week seventeen, giving the Jets,a sour taste in their mouths, yay!!! with the Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets, and the New England Patriots,in AFC East division, they will fight for third place in that division,if that...

life is fleeting,and short...
this is not easy to admit, but the last year has been very unique for me... people have no idea how unique last year was to me... first of all,my outlook on life changed on 7 Septembre 2011,when the KHL Lokomotiv Jaroslavl plane crash happened, because it simply taught me that life can be fleeting, and short... people think that life goes on,but when you see a literal funeral mass in a hockey arena, with about 20,000 people being so quiet, that you could hear a pin drop, and even though the mass may have been in Russian,i will never forget the other team that they were supposed to play that night, skate out,in full uniform, and around placards with every player's name, including coaches,on them, and then silently shoot a puck into their opponent's net(example for America would be a bell ringing ten times, for a ten count for fallen sports heroes,or celebrities, when at a sporting event)...
i was lucky to see my Green Bay Packers win fifteen,of sixteen games, last season, after winning Super Bowl XLV,and winning nineteen straight games,in the process, but a game is only a game, and they lost in the playoffs... i became part of the public ownership,of the Packers, right before Christmas Day,2011,and am very proud of it...
the Detroit Red Wings(my other team i root for,big-time,and also have a blog for them)had an interesting season, too, last season-won a NHL record twenty-three straight home games, but injuries to key players shortened their season,in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, last season, and a game is only a game...
life is fleeting and short, and if you do not step back, smell the roses, and just realize that little fact, then what is life,people...

an interview with Brett...
during an interview, with Hall of Fame member Deion "Prime Time" Sanders,Brett Favre talked about a lot of things, including his relationship with the Packers, the Saints "bounty" scandal(in which he said it was basically wrong to do,period),the reason that he went to the Minnesota Vikings, and the reason that he retired,finally... he was rather funny in the interview, commenting on being asked to become a Viking, while having a grandchild on his lap,at home in Mississippi... he said that he retired, besides injuries(a concussion),because he looked around the Vikings' huddle one day,and said,"hey,Percy(Harvin),you were two years old, maybe one, when i was a rookie???",and said it laughing... he honestly admitted that he went to the Vikings, because they offered him so much money, that he just could not refuse their offer... he basically said of his relationship, with the Green Bay Packers, with some mellowing in his voice, that his jersey retirement would happen,at the proper time, but he also joked, when asked if the Packers came to him,to have a "Brett Favre Day",and retire his jersey,he said,"why?",and Sanders told him that he was a stubborn old man,and both laughed...

Packers' news....
Cleveland Browns' team president, and former Green Bay Packers' head coach Mike Holmgren was inducted into the Green Bay Packers' Hall of Fame,tonight... even though,i really did not like the way that he left Green Bay,for the Seattle Seahawks, because he weaseled his way out of Green Bay(and i still do not like what he did),i have to give respect for the way that he turned Green Bay around from perennial loser,in the late 1980's,to a perennial winner,in the 1990's... congrats,Mike!!!!!
NFL news...
New Orleans Saints' quarterback Drew Brees filed his own affidavit,in support of suspended New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma in Second District Court... it is third affidavit in support of Vilma,in his fight to have suspension vacated,or get a temporary restraining order,to play in 2012-2013 NFL season,by Judge Helen Berrigan... basically,it was another "cry in the wilderness",and a total character whitewash of Vilma, noting his charitable work,in the community of New Orleans,by Vilma, and saying basically that Vilma is man of high moral character(paraphrasing the affidavit)... i do not doubt that he is all that, but my only question is:why it did take three years for the NFL "bounty" investigation to finish its work... it was because the Saints lied to,cheated, and basically told coaches, and players,"to get all your ducks in order",and told all to lie to NFL security throughout that time, while under investigation,by the NFL...
Mr. Vilma,it is a longshot for you to be on the field this season, unless you win,in court, and that little fact disgusts me,because you claim innocence, and the moral high ground, but you sued the Commissioner, and the NFL,for defamation, ruining your reputation, and yet, your big mouth got you into this mess, and you ruined your own reputation,by opening your mouth, smearing the NFL,and Commissioner Goodell,by claiming a bias towards him... Drew Brees,in the affidavit, still claims not to see any proof of a pay to injure scheme(the Saints "bounty" scandal)... what a real joke!!!!!!!!! Mr. Brees, and Mr. Vilma, just shut up,and by the way,Mr. Brees, you, and your teammates, wanted to see proof out in public about the Saints' "bounty" scandal and yet, your teammate,in Vilma, simply walked out of his appeals hearing, claiming immediately that it was rigged, played like he was the victim, like the punk that he is acting like, and a "superior" diva... what moral high ground??? (laughing)... i am sorry, folks, but i am very disgusted, and tired,of this "circus",period...

NFL news...
NFL has filed two motions to dismiss all lawsuits from the suspended NFL players, involved in the Saints' "bounty" scandal,in Second District Court of Louisiana, claiming in part that all lawsuits were filed in violation,of the collective bargaining agreement(CBA),signed last year, and that everything that was done by the Commissioner, and NFL followed the guidelines set forth in the collective bargaining agreement...
comments...
Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy, and Detroit Lions' head coach Jim Schwartz simply do not like each other... McCarthy responded to a light jab at the Packers skeet shooting earlier in the off-season,with basically the jab that the Lions take after their coach, with their misbehaviour, this off-season... what class,Mike... no Christmas cards between them... too bad.... love to be a fly around their heads, when they shake hands, after their games, this season...
commentary...
this is getting stupid:there have been so many NFL players being arrested,and/or suspended this off-season.... most of them are young players, who have no discipline... i find it demeaning that honored NFL players go out,get drunk, show a gun to someone, get arrested for marijuana possession, crash a car, simply be stupid, and get arrested,period... various players have done the above;all this off-season... where is common sense, and sanity??? BOYS,THIS IS THE NFL,NOT JERSEY SHORE!!!!! on top of that, you have the Saints' "bounty" scandal,in which the Saints' organization has been made to look like fools, and the players involved have been talking too much, and look like divas,in the worst sense of the word...
my opinion:stop being laughingstocks, and apologizing for your idiotic actions, and simply GROW UP!!!!!!!!

commentary...
pundits have talked about the Chicago Bears, and the Detroit Lions more than the Green Bay Packers this off-season... that is simply all right with Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers right now,but the scary part about the Packers this upcoming season is that the team who went 15-1,last season,is mostly intact... i admit that the defense was horrid last season, and i will give you two reasons for it... the losses of Cullen Jenkins(to Philadelphia Eagles),and injury(and later retirement),of Nick Collins, which took the literal heart out of the defense, but honestly the biggest drag on the defense was simply the fact that the Packers' offense was so potent... remind you of one fact, folks:how many games did the Packers win, last season??? fifteen,true... were the Packers ever behind, after three quarters, when they won a game, last season??? answer is a simple no... that meant that the Packers' defense gave up most of those horrid number of yards,to every team they beat,in the third and fourth quarters,of games that were basically out of reach, which meant teams were passing the football "around the yard",like the teams were playing ping pong... fatigue also played a major part of the defense's decline, because the Packers' offense would, for example, play for five,to nine plays, for, let us say, seventy five yards, with a touchdown, being the end result, and take only about three minutes of game time, and then the tired Packers' defense would slog through a nine minute drive by the opponent... you play that way for seventeen weeks/sixteen games, you will be very mentally, and physically tired, and the simple fact that they lost two key defensive players, from 2010 Super Bowl XLV Championship team, and by the time, and team rust(from clinching NFC North,so soon)honestly did the Packers in,against the New York Giants,in the playoffs... how they balance that out for sixteen games, and honestly be a better team*,overall, from last year is the $64,000 question, for the Packers...
*overall record honestly does not matter, because the Packers are considered a playoff team, and the key to their season,is their road to the Lombardi Trophy, through the playoffs...

moronic things to say...

commentary...
now, suspended(for first six games,of 2012-2013 NFL season)interim Saints' Head Coach Joe Vitt also filed a affidavit in support of suspended New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma of going to Saints' training camp, and playing this upcoming season, and calling the Saints' "bounty" scandal,"so-called,and nonexistent"... it is basically a "cry from the wilderness",saying that the Saints need their defensive leader, this season... hey,Joe,if it is so-called,and nonexistent(as you called the Saints' "bounty" scandal)one BIG question for you:why were you suspended for the first six games,of the 2012-2013 NFL season,Saints' head coach Sean Payton suspended for the entire 2012-2013 NFL season,Saints' general manager Mickey Loomis suspended eight games,of the 2012-2013 NFL season, and, finally, former St. Louis Rams, and New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely??? if nothing happened, why are you all suspended for various lengths of time, this upcoming season,Joe??? you extolled the virtues of Jonathan Vilma,in your affidavit,of Vilma "being dedicated, focused, and proud of playing cleanly, and fairly"... one more question,Joe:ask Brett Favre,Kurt Warner, and Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers(whom your defense targeted in first game,of 2011-2012 NFL season),how they really feel down deep about the pay to injure scheme(the "bounty" scandal")that the Saints' organization, and defense ran for three seasons... your organization lied about, cheated, told your defense,"to get your ducks in order",stonewalled the NFL investigation, and continue to claim that the players did nothing wrong,at all,to this day... well,Joe,answer the questions that i posted to you... you claim that not a player did anything wrong, and if that is true, why are the players, and the NFLPA trying to violate, and nullify the current CBA(collective bargaining agreement)-section 46,page 204-"Commissioner Discipline"-section one,and two,by suing the NFL,smearing, and denigrating the NFL Commissioner,by claiming unfair appeal processes for the players,in which Jonathan Vilma, your "hero",walked out of his appeal hearing, claiming basically that it is already fixed, and a kangaroo court(paraphrasing his feelings),that day???... well,Joe,answer the questions,or take your lumps, and just shut up....
NFL news, and a letter to Jonathan Vilma...
NFL has filed a motion in Second U.S. District Court in Louisiana,to ask Judge Helen Berrigan,to deny a hearing on suspended New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma's request to expedite his temporary restraining order(TRO),to "rehab" his knee(his words),and to attend training camp,ultimately...
now,Scottie Patton, head trainer for the Saints has filed an affidavit,in support of Vilma,in District Court...
my opinion:with training camp fast approaching,i do really understand Vilma's wanting to be with his doctors, and teammates... that aside, for a moment,Vilma had a legitimate chance to talk to NFL Security, and Commissioner Goodell during his appeal hearing, and after less than a hour, walked out,and protested his own talking points about the process not being fair,a common theme for the four players involved,in the Saints' "bounty" scandal... with only days left, before the Saints go to training camp,Vilma has gone to court, under very bad legal advice from Peter Ginsburg, his attorney,to try to get back into training camp, and on a NFL football field, this upcoming season... chances are very slim, unless he gets into training camp on time, because being in shape, and being in football shape, are two totally different horses, altogether(if you know what i mean)... Vilma has acted simply like he is above the NFL,and the ultimate victim, claiming the NFL,and Commissioner Goodell has ruined and tainted his reputation, but Jonathan you have only have one person to blame, besides your diva attorney, and that is the person in your bathroom mirror-you,and you alone... you may believe that the NFL has ruined your reputation, but honestly,it is the NFL three year investigation into the Saints' "bounty" scandal, and that includes many other items, besides your big mouth, which you can not just shut your mouth up,because honestly,Jonathan you are digging yourself, into a big hole, that not even your enormous talent can get you out of,because the NFL has a:very deep pockets, and b:a very long memory, and if you play through the rest of your current contract, one BIG question:what NFL team is going to want you to play football for them? Jonathan, you have a big problem, your big mouth has told NFL owners that you may not worth it:to bring in a loud mouthed "superior" diva to supplement their talent, and unfortunately your enormous talent will not be the first thing that embarrassed NFL owners will think of,when they think of you... by the way,if you think that you are a Hall of Fame caliber player, well, the committee that votes you into the Hall, takes into effect your outside of football character, into their vote... remember one Alex Karras,of the Detroit Lions, who got suspended for gambling allegations, along with Paul Hornung,of the Green Bay Packers, for an entire year... Hornung got into the Hall of Fame,by apologizing, and being contrite, about what happened... Karras never has gotten in(so far),and probably never will get into the Hall of Fame... so,Jonathan,i would tell your attorney to basically shut up,and do the same, because the hole that you are digging is very deep, and you better realize that the NFL,and the people who cover it,have been embarrassed by this sordid, and rather disgusting episode, and they have a very long memory... remember Alex Karras, take your lumps, and simply shut your mouth...
now,Scottie Patton, head trainer for the Saints has filed an affidavit,in support of Vilma,in District Court...
my opinion:with training camp fast approaching,i do really understand Vilma's wanting to be with his doctors, and teammates... that aside, for a moment,Vilma had a legitimate chance to talk to NFL Security, and Commissioner Goodell during his appeal hearing, and after less than a hour, walked out,and protested his own talking points about the process not being fair,a common theme for the four players involved,in the Saints' "bounty" scandal... with only days left, before the Saints go to training camp,Vilma has gone to court, under very bad legal advice from Peter Ginsburg, his attorney,to try to get back into training camp, and on a NFL football field, this upcoming season... chances are very slim, unless he gets into training camp on time, because being in shape, and being in football shape, are two totally different horses, altogether(if you know what i mean)... Karras never has gotten in(so far),and probably never will get into the Hall of Fame... so,Jonathan,i would tell your attorney to basically shut up,and do the same, because the hole that you are digging is very deep, and you better realize that the NFL,and the people who cover it,have been embarrassed by this sordid, and rather disgusting episode, and they have a very long memory... remember Alex Karras, take your lumps, and simply shut your mouth...
trivia...
name the only players to run for 2,000 yards,in a fourteen game span, during a season? this is somewhat of a trick question, because there have been running backs, who have run for 2,000+ yards,in a season, but only two players have equaled 2,000 yards,in a FOURTEEN GAME SPAN,during a season... one is O.J. Simpson, who ran for 2,003 yards,in 1973,with the Buffalo Bills... the other one is Barry Sanders,of the Detroit Lions, who after week two,of the 1997 season had rushed for only fifty-three yards, but then ran for exactly 2,000 yards, and finished with 2,053 yards,in a sixteen game season...
commentary...
the Chicago Bears must be smoking something... first,Brian Urlacher says that the Bears are better than the Green Bay Packers, and the Detroit Lions, overall, and now receiver Earl Bennett has said that quarterback Jay Cutler is better than the Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers... what hogwash!!! however,i will say that both the Detroit Lions, and the Bears are good teams this season, but remember Brian, and Earl, now your team has improved, and that is good, and yet,BOTH the Lions, and the Packers also have improved, along with the Minnesota Vikings, who can beat a team,or two... if you honestly believe your team, this season,is the best team,in the NFC North, just go out and prove it,and "be real",in telling people that Cutler is better than Rodgers, because the pedigree is not there, yet, for Cutler... i am not saying that Cutler is not a very good NFL quarterback, because the potential is there to be very good... i mean that every quarterback in the NFC North can be very good, including Christian Ponder, who has shown flashes of brilliance,in his short NFL career, with the Vikings... final thought:the NFC North will be a real nasty dogfight this season...

fun in court???
suspended New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma filed a request,on Monday,to have a hearing on Thursday,or as the court allows,to expedite his temporary restraining order,in the Eastern District of Louisiana, which covers New Orleans... he wants to attend training camp,to "rehab" his knee(he says),and to play this upcoming season...
oops, folks,i forgot to mention that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also filed a motion to the same district judge,to dismiss Vilma's defamation lawsuit, last week(i was on vacation,folks!)...

NFL news,and commentary...
by Monday,1 pm.,Pacific time, all players with a franchise tag must sign with their respective teams... three players are looking for long term contracts-Matt Forte,of the Chicago Bears,Cliff Avril,of the Detroit Lions, and Ray Rice,of the Baltimore Ravens-Forte is "very close" to signing a long term contract(in fact,he may be on the phone, with Bears' management,or his agent, most of the weekend),Avril has "not a good vibe"(his words),about signing a long term contract, and the Ravens, who has salary cap pressure has not budged, about a long term contract, with Rice... Forte, who said he has,"no choice but to play in 2012",may sign the franchise tender, and Avril has said that he will sign his franchise tender, earlier,in the off-season,but Rice may hold out... side note:quarterback Joe Flacco, and cornerback/safety Ed Reed both want a long term contract, with the Ravens,too... so the Ravens may be in early trouble this upcoming season,folks...*

moron on parade...
Stefan Humphries,a guard on the 1985 Chicago Bears' Super Bowl winning team, got his Super Bowl ring back from police, when it was recovered, when a moron got pulled over on a traffic stop, and was driving a SUV filled with stolen merchandise, and said that,"he did not know anything about the stolen merchandise"...

this blogpost is the only time that i will mention the Penn State scandal:as having an alum of Penn State in my extended family, for them,i feel quite bad, because Penn State is a quality university, period, and you should hold your head up high... to the administrators, and board of trustees involved, you get what you deserve... to the Paterno family, you look foolish, and just shut up,and simply deserve the ridicule that you get, right,Jay? to the victims of Jerry "human scum"(my words) Sandusky, you have my ultimate sympathy... to Sandusky, you deserve everything that is coming your way.... have a lot of misery,Jerry...
a letter to Gregg Williams...
dear Gregg:you just "vowed" to return to coaching after your indefinite suspension, from the Saints' "bounty" scandal... how stupid can you be??? first of all,NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell decides that, and secondly,if you get cleared by the Commissioner, what NFL owner would hire you back??? good question,Gregg... just take your lumps, and shut your mouth...

a letter to Nick Fairley...
dear Nick:you are a very good football player, but honestly you need to be serious, and do what Hall of Fame member Michael Irvin says, and "get real",because you have been arrested twice since May,and you need to understand that people use you as a "target"(be your friend one moment, and talk bad about you the next, that is what i mean,by target),and will not have your best interests at heart... you are young, and need to grow up some and just understand that some people are not good to be around... you may be a good guy,and i do not doubt that, but you need to realize that you are a member of the NFL community, and should be very honored,to be that, because many want to be there, and few are chosen, and have the talent to be there...i would like you to be an inspiration to the football players,of this country, and not a cautionary tale,of someone gone wrong... Nick, you are a very talented football player, and i know that, but you must understand that people make mistakes, and they must learn from them... i know that you will learn from your mistakes, and hopefully i will see you play against the Packers, twice, this year...

funny,but true...
Adrian Peterson got arrested last night on a charge of resisting arrest,in Houston,Texas, not funny, but the way that it happened,is funny... during a bar's closing, police asked Peterson to leave the bar,as he ordered some water,so this officer had words with Peterson, and as Peterson was leaving the bar with a bouncer, the officer jumped on his back, and rode him like a horse,i imagine, until police handcuffed him...
my opinion:the officer did not like what Peterson said, and basically acted like a moronic idiot(and a big shot),so he arrested him,"playing cowboys and indians"... way to go,Houston Police, and looking like idiots across the country!!!

feel good story...
free agent center Jeff Faine was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,in March, but Faine did something that not many players do when released,by a NFL team,at least not in public... he complimented general manager,Mark Dominik for his honesty,in releasing him,and he did it with class... Tampa Bay signed free agent center Carl Nicks,in the off-season... if only the Lions(with players arrested, this off-season),or the players involved,in the "bounty" scandal, had the same amount of total, and true class,as Faine has,the NFL would be a better place... thank you,Jeff...

NFL news,and commentary...
U.S. District Judge Helen Berrigan has consolidated both the Vilma defamation suit, against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and the NFLPA lawsuit, involving the three other suspended players involved in the "bounty" scandal, into one lawsuit... hey folks, this is going to end rather ugly, and players being suspended, and their reputations basically ruined, because the NFL owners really are being embarrassed,by this circus, and they have very long memories...
my opinion:honestly,if the players involved had been contrite, and humble, and really tried to cooperate with NFL security,at first, this whole situation would have, and could have been, handled, with respect, and class, instead of players being total loud-mouthed jerks, and ultimate divas, like the players involved are claiming to be innocent,of everything, and loudly proclaiming those "so-called" facts, over, and over,period...

NFL news...
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has asked a federal judge to dismiss Jonathan Vilma's defamation lawsuit against him, basically saying that Vilma is trying to get around the imposition of the "conduct detrimental" clause(Article 46;section one, page 204),as in "Commissioner Discipline",and the year long suspension, and that,"it is an improper attempt to circumvent the mandatory, and binding dispute resolution procedures,of the current collective bargaining agreement(CBA)"... in brief,he included 715 pages,of exhibits, including the 317 page CBA,and 237 excerpted pieces of the NFL's bylaws, and constitution...
Vilma amended his lawsuit, asking for a temporary injunction,to have time to rehab his knee, with Saints' trainers, and doctors...

NFL news,and commentary...
NFLPA has filed a lawsuit supporting Anthony Hargrove,Will Smith, and Scott Fujita... it tells that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell violated the current collective agreement(CBA),by showing publicly that the three players took part in "bounty" program, before ruling on their appeals, and asks judge to basically void suspensions, and earlier arbitrator's rulings, and give it to another arbitrator,to rule on the appeals... all three players have been suspended from eight games(Hargrove),four games(Smith),and three games(Fujita)... well boys, take your lumps,be tougher than a bunch of divas, and just play football... to the NFLPA,just go away...

commentary...
i will not talk about the Saints "bounty" scandal, unless things change, like a lawsuit in court... what bothers me is that the players involved did not take part in the investigation, talk to NFL security,or basically give the NFL reasons not to do this, and have said that they did not do this, over, and over... i have absolutely no sympathy for any of the players involved, because they gave the NFL no reason, and simply no choice,in doing what the NFL did... the players have badmouthed the NFL,and claimed that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell have tainted their reputations,in suspending them... Goodell has followed the protocol,in the current bargaining agreement(CBA),signed by the NFL,and NFLPA last year, and the players involved have done nothing to help themselves, lawyered up,and just complained about no evidence, against them... however, there are reports that the NFL has 18,000 pages of evidence,in the overall "bounty" report, and the players involved have come up with very little to refute anything in the three year NFL investigative report, but have gone to court to try to smear the Commissioner, denigrate, and belittle the NFL... so,to the players involved, take your lumps, get back on the field, and just play football, and finally to Mr. Jonathan Vilma, you are someone who have tarnished your own reputation,by opening up your big mouth, and if you do not believe that, you are dead wrong... if you had been humble, and contrite,in dealing with this situation, then being a real odious jerk, you would not be suspended for this season*
*as of right now, barring court action...

player "bounty" punishments...
the NFL has upheld all suspensions, doled out,to Jonathan Vilma(one season)Anthony Hargrove(eight games),Will Smith(four games),and Scott Fujita(three games)... now it goes to federal court,it looks like...
correction...
oops i forgot a word in the commentary:the quote in original posting, was,"we will be determined to play our best person",the correct quote was,"we will be determined to play our best game",and was corrected in a later post...
commentary...
as a member of the public ownership(shareholder),of the Green Bay Packers,i would never say,or do anything,to denigrate the NFL,or the Packers, but i will criticize them... this is a first person critique of the team:having steamrolled our way to Super Bowl XLV,winning the last six games, like we did,and then winning the first thirteen games of the 2011-2012 NFL season(nineteen straight games)actually gave us a sense of being invincible, and "just give the Lombardi to us" sense of entitlement, and a massive ego(me included, have to admit),but the bad,and disgusting,37-20 loss to the Giants actually was a wake up call to our team, for this season...
i would hate to play us this season, because we will have a big chip on our collective shoulders, and actually a sense of being humble, and yet determined,to get to Super Bowl XLVII(we may not get there),but we will be a better team, regardless of team record(who can improve a 15-1 record???)... we have said very little,in preparing for this upcoming season,in the press, except to say that we will be better, period, and the pundits have put a few teams(Detroit Lions,New York Giants,Philadelphia Eagles,New England Patriots,Baltimore Ravens, and the San Francisco 49ers)ahead of us in their talk about better teams than us... they even believe that the Lions may win the NFL North(if they are to be believed),and even a member of the Chicago Bears' defense(Brian Urlacher)says that the Bears will be better than us... let them all talk, because they will have to back up their boasts, and that will not be too easy... as for us,we know that the season is sixteen games long, having ups and downs throughout, but we will be ready, and just a little meaner in our approach,in preparing for the season, and being a very tough team to play, week in,and week out,and even win,or lose...
we want to just play football, shut up pundits, and opponents, and go for the Lombardi Trophy(our main goal),but we will be better, overall, and a very dangerous team to play... we will be determined to just play our best game, and remember the way we played against the Giants, the bitter taste of the loss, but honestly remember that we did not play our best(no way,did we play great),and feeling the extreme embarrassment of doing that,period... we will be better, regardless of record,so let's play football...

Packers' news,and a comment...
according to cornerback Tramon Williams, the Green Bay Packers' defense will be better this upcoming season... my opinion: i agree(they have to improve-32nd,in yards allowed,in NFL),because they drafted very well on defensive side,of ball,in 2012 NFL Draft,so they will be better... how much is the $64,000 dollar question???
commentary...
this is a commentary on the New Orleans Saints:if anyone believes that the Saints will not be a very good team, think again!!!!!! i expect them to be an elite team, going to the playoffs, but the coaching snafu, and the two players that will be suspended(barring an court injunction,it looks like),does make it tougher on the team, but with Drew Brees(who i am beginning to dislike, for his big mouth, not his talent)playing offense with the Saints, they will be tough to beat... do you think that he is going to take anything other than success,in his role,as Saints' quarterback??? to the pundits,i say, watch out, with you say about the Saints, because if you do not respect them, like i really do,they will make you eat your words, and win games...
will Vilma ever learn???
suspended New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma has filed a second lawsuit, against the NFL,complaining about the speed of the "bounty" scandal appeals process... what a piece of real work!!! i am afraid that he is becoming a thorn in the side of the NFL,and a pariah,to the owners who may feel offended,by Vilma's actions...
NFL news...
home teams can sell 85% of their home tickets,to avoid the dreaded "home blackout",the NFL has ruled... a relaxing of those rules,by the NFL...
