Packers' tight end Jermichael Finley can not seem to keep his mouth shut,because he reportedly said to ESPN that he could not take a pay cut... he has a cap number of $8.75 million,for 2013,second on team,behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers... he will make $4.45 million,base salary,is due a $3 million bonus,due on March 27th,2013,will get a $500K per game roster bonus,and a $300K workout bonus,this upcoming season... so the Packers have a major decision,in terms of Finley's cap number,but i honestly believe that he will on the Packers' roster,next season,but even though the Packers have not asked him to restructure his deal,they may do that,shortly...

one Mitch Zannette,a life long fan of Dale Earnhardt,Sr was in hospice earlier last week,had hours,maybe a week to live,and he decided not to die in hospice,so he and his family took a week's worth of pain pills,and drove down to Daytona,to fullfill his last wish:to go see the Daytona 500... he got down to see Danica Patrick win the pole position,got past the security guards,made friends,and was comfortably sipping soda,and hot chocolate trackside,when his family found him... he lived in Pen Argyl,Pennsylvania,and had a total room dedicated to Earnhardt,Sr,at his house... he died trackside,shortly before the Sprint Unlimited,the first race of Speed Week... to his family,i give my prayers,and condolences,but honestly,i am happy that Mitch got to fulfill his last wish,period...

Robert Griffith III is aiming to start the 2013-2014 NFL season as starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins,week one,but honestly is being realistic about his severe knee injury suffered in the playoffs,against the Seattle Seahawks... he said in a tweet,"no rush,just determination",when asked that his recovery,from a similar injury,that Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson suffered,in 2011,and then came back opening week,and ran for an incredible 2,097 yards,last season,is on schedule for a similar return,for him... i have to admit that,in my opinion,Griffith III's injury may be similar to Peterson,and his injury,but may be more difficult to come back from,him being a quarterback,and not a running back... Griffith III had a similar knee injury at Baylor,when in college,and i hope that he comes back on his terms,but does not compromise his NFL career,doing it,this off-season...

free agency is coming up for the 32 NFL teams... the Packers' needs are in the offensive backfield,a running back,in the defensive line,a pass rusher,or two,and a wide receiver,or two... whether they go for a free agent is debatable,because of salary cap concerns... releasing safety Charles Woodson frees up,about $10 million,in salary cap space,the retirement of Donald Driver,and the fact that wide receiver Greg Jennings is headed for free agency makes the Packers seem weaker,going into the NFL combine,and the NFL draft... for your information,one of the strong points,of the Packers' defense is a very young,but very good defensive backfield,and the one of the strong points,of the Packers' offense is the wide receiving corps,which needs drafting,or free agency needs... the weakest points of the team,is the improvement,and needs of the offensive line,who gave up too many sacks,last season,and the running game,of the Packers,which did show signs of improvement,but needs to be more balanced,because an one-dimensional offense does make the Packers very predictable,and easier to contain,over a NFL season of games...

a major hat tip to former Chicago Bears' wide receiver Johnny Knox,who suffered a horrible back injury,against the Seattle Seahawks,in December 2011,and missed the entire 2012-2013 NFL season,after having spinal fusion surgery... he showed ultimate class in retiring,thanking the fans,and giving a speech that brought tears to many people's eyes,and as a Packers' owner/shareholder,i appreciate class people,no matter what team that they played for... he said that he came within centimeters of being paralyzed,and to be sitting there,and talking to the press was very good for him to do,today...

memory of mom...

this week has been very emotional for me... my dearly departed mother died five years ago,on last Friday,and that has been on my mind most of this week,and it is very emotional to me to go through some very good memories,like the time i had a 103 degree fever,and helped her with putting her stuff in her car,like i always did in the morning,but unfortunately i picked up the wrong bag for her lunch... she had scraped the cat box,and left the remains on the counter,so you can imagine what i picked up to put in the car,that day... she got a smelly surprise when she got to work,and i got talked to,that night,and she did laugh with me,too,that night... i had no clue what i picked up that day,because i was so ill that day... what a memory... can you see her face,when she realized what was in the bag??? i still can,and always laugh...

Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants to play eight more years,in Green Bay,and wants to retire as a Packer... with his contract up,after 2014,he is expected to wait until Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco gets his new deal,and then everybody believes that Rodgers should get a bigger deal,from the Packers... he signed a six year,$65 million contract,in 2008-a bargain at that time-and the Packers should hammer out a new deal,sooner than later,for Rodgers... what a delightful dilemma,for the Packers...

some Packer fans have no class!!!!! Jermichael Finley have had trouble catching passes,but really wants to improve,as he wanted to be in practice with quarterback Aaron Rodgers,catching passes,in off-season,and improving chemistry,but some sour fans have started badmouthing him online,and that is disgusting,period... if he is back,with the Packers,and because of salary cap considerations($3 million due him,in March,and a $8.25 million cap hit,next season,for the Packers),it makes him 50/50 to be on the Packers' roster,next season,still if you are a true Packers' fan,you should give him the support,and the fact that Donald Driver retired,and wide receiver Greg Jennings,most likely,will be an unrestricted free agent,does help the chances that Finley will be back on the roster... if the Packers' brass does make the decision that Finley is worth the salary cap hit,next season,i truly hope he really improves,and he did the last half of this last season,in catching passes,from Rodgers... to Packer fans,stay classy!!!!!

on December 5th,2010,Donald Driver made the best play of a touchdown that i have ever seen,as a Packer:he caught a pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers,at the forty yard line,broke six tackles,and fought three other players,as he crossed the goal line... it was a sixty one yard touchdown pass,and he simply refused to go down,against the San Francisco 49ers(the Packers won,34-16)... he was wearing not the traditional Green and Gold that day,as the Packers were celebrating the 1929 NFL Champion Green Bay Packers,who wore Blue and Gold,with the number inside a gold dot on front of the jersey,and dark brown helmets symbolizing the leather helmets,back then... that play was my favorite play,of his great Packers' career,and i will wear his jersey with extreme pride...

Packers' wide receiver Donald Driver retired with class,and he scored sixty-one touchdowns,on 743 catches,for 10,137 yards... the yards,and catches,are the most in Packers' history,with the touchdown catches,being third on that list... he was drafted in the seventh round,by the Packers,in 1999,out of Alcorn State,and said early in his career that he would retire as a Packer,and said today that he did not want to tarnish his career,the fans,or the uniform of the "Green and Gold"(the Packers),by playing for another team... he kept his word... the governor of Wisconsin proclaimed that today(6 February 2013)would be Donald Driver Day,in the state,and the mayor of Green Bay officially renamed a street,with city council approval,in the city,"Donald Driver Way"...

i remember growing up watching wrestling,and going to the local arena,back then,and even watching it live,at a local television station,twice... was a fan of many of the wrestlers,in the late 1960's and early 1970's,then became a fan of the WWF/E,in the mid 1980's,and still am,but to tell you the truth,when the WWF/E brought up their Hall of Fame inductees every year,on the day before Wrestlemania,there was always one person missing,on the list... i have WWE Classics,on demand,so i go back to what they call "Old School",and i see this guy on tape,and simply marvel,at this guy,and i always wondered why this guy was never on the list of inductees... this guy held the WWWF/WWF/E title for an amazing 4,040 days,in two title reigns,beating "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers,in an amazing 48 seconds,in 1963,and holding onto the title for almost eight years,and then becoming the first two time WWWF/WWF/E champion,in 1973,and holding onto it for another three and a half years,before losing the title... he sold out Madison Square Garden an astounding 187 times(second on the list,next to Bob Backlund's 200 times,and Backlund held onto the WWWF/WWF/E title,for over six years,himself)... well,folks,dreams do finally come true,because Bruno Sammartino,and Bob Backlund are finally being inducted,this year,together...

i honestly admire Packers' wide receiver Donald Driver,because he only wanted to play for the Packers,and he will be revered,in Green Bay,as many players like Paul Hornung,Jerry Kramer,Ray Nitschke,Bart Starr,Don Hutson,and coaches like Curly Lambeau,and Vince Lombardi,because he is going to retire as a Packer,with total class,even though he does say that he can still play for a NFL team,he does not want to play for another team,so he will retire from the NFL,with a class,and heart,of a warrior,who feels very good about his decision to retire... to you,Donald,i hope to see you,at Lambeau Field,when they do retire your jersey,and you are honored for your stellar play,as a Packer over your career...
