a day at Lambeau Field...

since the Red Wings got bounced out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs,it is time to think about the Packers,so i have looked at the most beautiful thing outside Joe Louis Arena, when the Red Wings play:Lambeau Field, and it is very very beautiful,today... as you may believe that i need a few days off, mentally,so looking at the "Frozen Tundra" made my day,today... right now,i really need to sit in the stands at Lambeau Field,at least in my dreams...

father gone crazy...

a New Jersey father has filed $40 million dollar federal lawsuit against a school,a coach, and school district, and et al... why??? his son got kicked off the school's track team, because of missed practices... Ervin Mears,Jr. filed the lawsuit, after his son,Mawusimensah(correct spelling),got kicked off off the track team,at Sterling Regional High School,in Camden County,New Jersey... father believes that extracurricular activities are a right, not a privilege, which is dead wrong, and wants to punish everybody involved in his son's perceived slight... what a moron!!!!!!!!! my opinion:Mr. Mears,Jr,and son Mawusimensah,GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a day at Lambeau Field...

it is cloudy,in Green Bay,today, looks like rain for the next three days, including today... construction cranes in parking lot,but the "Frozen Tundra" looks lush and green... wish i was sitting inside the bowl of Lambeau Field...

NFL news,and comments...

reportedly, the Seattle Seahawks' veterans had a meeting together to discuss their performance enhancing drugs(PED's) problem... basically, they got together to say,"grow up,and stop making mistakes over and over..." what a franchise,a head coach, who is a real piece of work, and players who take Adderall, and get suspended, for NFL game time... by the way, seven players got suspended(one, cornerback Richard Sherman got his suspension overturned,on a mishandled sample)... my opinion:i do not like blabbermouths who think that they know everything, and need to be taken down a notch... the way that they celebrated the "Fail Mary" win against the Packers, last season just made me very angry, and made me also want to vomit... it was not the last play of the game that made me upset, even though i argued that it was wrong, but the celebration, and comments after the game, and for a couple weeks afterward that made me want to puke...

commentary...

i have to apologize to you, folks, but honestly,i am very, very mentally tired, and there is very little going on except organized team activities(OTA's),and a ton of stories that make no sense to report on(example:in a simulated Super Bowl XLVIII,the NFL.com website have the Denver Broncos, and the Seattle Seahawks playing,in a game called,"Predict the Season")... who honestly cares about that stuff??? i do not care about that baloney,period... knowing the Packers' brain trust, they will not give out too much stuff of interest, until training camp, which starts the last week of July... so please be patient...

fantasy day at Lambeau Field...

mentally, today,i am sitting in Lambeau Field, watching the sun go down,shortly... be back tomorrow...

a day at Lambeau Field...

commentary...

i was a fan of the recently retired Brian Urlacher... he came out of the University of New Mexico, where he actually was a safety his first year in college... i remember watching a UNM game back then on television, and he intercepted a pass that day... that was my introduction to Urlacher... honestly,it was too bad(laughing)that he was drafted by the Chicago Bears... even though he played the Packers twice every season(not including playoffs),i did honestly respect his play... he did play NFL football, college football, and did other things, with total class... Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers must be taking a very deep breath, and had a prayer of thanks(laughing),when he retired, because Urlacher was the nemesis for Rodgers, when the Packers did play the Bears, because Urlacher would come up with a big play, against Rodgers, over and over, during Packers/Bears games over the years... example:an interception of Rodgers that almost turned the 2010 NFC Championship game on its ear,if not for a thigh high tackle by Rodgers... Rodgers said,at the time,"i was mad,and i thought i could out-run him on an angle, and if i could get to him,i could get him down... he did,and that was turning point of that game... to him,i give him a double hat tip to a great player... may he have a great life outside football, and may i see him in Canton, and i will applaud his induction,if he gets into the Hall of Fame, even if he was a dreaded "hated" Chicago Bears' player(laughing)...

NFL news...

Chicago Bears' great linebacker Brian Urlacher announced his retirement from the NFL,today... personal comments,later...

NFL news...

San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles tendon during the team's organized team activities(OTA's)... knowing surgery, nowadays, depending on how bad the tear is,there may be a possibility that he could return this season, like Baltimore Ravens' linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs did last year...

trivia...

when was the fabled "head slap",made so famous by Hall of Fame member David "Deacon" Jones outlawed??? answer:the year was 1977...

a night at Lambeau Field...

they must be testing the lights, inside Lambeau Field, because the field looks beautiful,period... wish i was sitting in the stadium bowl... what a dream!!!!!!

NFL news...

the Oakland Raiders and Charles Woodson have agreed to an one year contract;base salary $1 million, with incentives, total contract worth $4.3 million...

a note to Tony Romo...

Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo has said that,"i do not think that i am a 8-8 quarterback"... well,Tony, the last two seasons the Cowboys have been 8-8,and who has been the starting quarterback of the Cowboys,in the last two seasons---you,Tony,that's who??? records tell the story, not words... so prove me wrong!!!!!! by the way, what is your playoff record,as quarterback of the Cowboys? for your information, one win,and six losses...

NFL news...

the cities of San Francisco and Houston have been awarded Super Bowl L(Fifty),and LI(Fifty One),respectively...

NFL news...

NFL,and NFLPA are working on an one year deal to move the 2014 NFL Draft,to the month of May... it is being bumped because of the Spring Spectacular,by the Radio City Rockettes,an Easter show...

commentary...

on the football field,Seattle Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll is a very good coach,as he was at the University of Southern California, but in the office,he is a real piece of work, because he got out of Los Angeles, before NCAA sanctions, over the Reggie Bush scandal, decimated USC,for years, including a national championship being vacated, and he played dumb, and dumber, about the effects of the scandal... now, since 2011,he has had seven players suspended, over performance-enhancing drugs(PEDS)... one of the seven players,Richard Sherman won his four game appeal last season, for taking Adderall,on an issue of a mishandled drug sample... why is Carroll always seem to be the coach in these scandals, because he always seem to play dumb and dumber, and get no criticism from anyone... which one is he:Jim Carrey,or Jeff Daniels?,or even both, because the Seahawks have most drug-related suspensions of any team in NFL,since 2011,and he goes blissfully unaware of anything wrong, like at USC... my opinion:you really do not want to know what i think of Carroll... a real piece of work is the kindest thing that i can say about him...

NFL news...

the new stadium in Santa Clara,California, for the San Francisco 49ers,which opens for the 2014 NFL season is the frontrunner for Super Bowl L(Fifty),which is voted on Tuesday... it is between Miami's Joe Robbie Stadium, and the Levi's Stadium(the name of the new stadium),in a round robin voting for Super Bowl L,and LI(Fifty, and Fifty One)... the loser in Tuesday's vote goes in voting for Super Bowl LI(Fifty One),between the loser on Tuesday, and Reliant Stadium,in Houston,on Wednesday... note:the voters in Miami voted down a bond for renovation on Joe Robbie Stadium,recently...

blog statement...

taking a break today... i just need rest... have had allergies act up on me...

Thursday, May 16, 2013

NFL news...

Anthony Hargrove who signed with the Green Bay Packers, and was released last August, and had his Saints' bounty scandal suspension vacated by the former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagiabue last season, has signed an one year deal with the Dallas Cowboys... i do wish him well in his NFL return... my opinion:i have much more respect for Hargrove than the other three players involved in the scandal, because he did not have a huge mouth(example:New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma),because he really did not talk too much, and yet went through the appeals process, and did show class in doing so...

Happy Birthday,L. Frank Baum,and a personal comment...

i forgot to note that Lyman Frank Baum was born May 15,1856... why note the author:he wrote "the Wizard of OZ"... strange personal fact:i found a first edition of the book,in a church thrift store in Nebraska, and unfortunately, before getting to really look at the book,i actually lost the book... too bad, really!!!!!!!

funny one,Richard,really...

Seattle Seahawks' cornerback Richard Sherman may not be my favorite player, but honestly,i have to give him a hat tip,for his humor, because he is putting on a charity softball game,in Seattle, and he is hiring Lance Easley,as an umpire, for the game... if you do not get the joke, let me take you back to week three:Packers at Seahawks(the Fail Mary game),when an official came out of nowhere, and simply robbed the Packers of a win, when the official gave the Seahawks a touchdown,as wide receiver Golden Tate literally took the football out of Packers' safety M.D. Jennings' hands, after he hit the ground... well, that official was Easley... get the joke,now... well, the flyers for the game tease about throwing flags...

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Packers' news...

Packers' president, and CEO Mark Murphy has said that,"we want Brett Favre back in the fold"... i expect Favre's number 4 to be retired sometime in the 2013 NFL season, but honestly, who really understands Favre,or really knows what will happen...

a day to remember...

i used to run marathons growing up(26.22 miles),so this day i will never forget, because i have had less than two hours of sleep in last 36 hours... just could not sleep... this lack of sleep started about 8 am,yesterday... i have tried to sleep... just could not... well, today was the topper of all days... went to bed about 3 am,got up somewhere around 5 am,and had to do nine hours of jury duty,so i remembered that during marathon training you had to slow breathe and keep moving, and concentrate on something far away... well during the breaks in the day of total boredom(jury duty),i took off on walks, and doing things that needed to be done, but yet were fun things to do... at lunch,i went to the bank, and even sat in on a lunchtime Catholic Mass, for about 20 minutes, prayed, and then went back to the courthouse... it calmed me down,no end,and my old marathon training came in very handy, because i even walked about three miles,on a mid 90's day,temperature-wise... well folks,i made it without collapsing(laughing)...

Sunday, May 12, 2013

comments...

i know that some days i talk about Lambeau Field giving you glowing reports about the stadium, and the weather... it may sound boring, and at times,it can be,but honestly,i really wish that i could get tickets to a game,or i imagine myself sitting in a crowd of,now, almost 80,000 fans,on game day, when i talk of Lambeau Field,in those glowing terms... i may be a shareholder/owner of the Packers(a fact that i am very proud of,indeed),but,as the old saying goes,i am not made of money,so i have dreams...

RIP Jack Butler...

2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame member Jack Butler died today, after a long battle with a staph infection... his playing career ended in 1959,during a Philadelphia Eagles/Pittsburgh Steelers game, when Eagles' tight end Pete Retzlaff broke his leg, during a tackle,as his shoulder smashed his knee... he had trouble battling a staph infection, since then, after surgery on the leg... he was a scout for the Steelers for over forty years...

a day at Lambeau Field...

it is cloudy at Lambeau Field, today,as the field looks very nice, and it may look lonely, but it is still a beautiful sight to see...

scumbag on parade...

convict, and total scumbag O.J. Simpson is asking the Nevada courts for a new trial, because of very bad and lousy counsel, during his kidnapping, and armed robbery trial... he is serving nine to thirty three years in prison, for robbing a man in Nevada casino hotel room, and using a gun, allegedly to take back his collectables... note:this is only time that i will ever mention Simpson, because he is lower than pond scum...

memories of mine...

nowadays, you,as a child, can not go outside without supervision, and that is absolutely right... however, when i was a child in the 60's,and early 70's,i remember many days of my dear departed mother telling us kids,"to come back before it gets dark",and us kids would scatter to the four winds... most of the time,i would stay around the house playing in the backyard,or wheeling around in my peddle car,and then trailing after my younger, but bigger, brother and would play games with him... i even would go to a neighbor's house and play around, but i had a very pleasant childhood... the one odd thing that i would do would be to say to my mother that "i am going to take a walk",and i would just walk different neighborhoods, and be back in a couple hours, and actually one year,i walked backwards home every day from school(fifth grade),and got very good at doing it that i could almost walk home as fast as others would walk home going forward... i am listening to XM satellite radio channel 60's on 6,and just remembering a very nice time in my life... what a childhood!!!!!

a day at Lambeau Field...

a very beautiful day looking at the "Frozen Tundra",today... it is sunny, and the "Tundra" has a tarp on it,as they reseed the field,it appears to me... Lambeau Field is very majestic,today...

Packers' news...

the Packers will don their third jersey,a recreation of the 1929 NFL Championship uniform(blue with yellow polka dot, with blue numbers,on front, and brown helmet that simulates the leather helmets worn,in 1929),October 20th,against the Cleveland Browns... side note:i have the third jersey, and will wear it that day...

Sunday, May 5, 2013

opinion of mine...

NFL Network is going through the top 100 players in the NFL for 2013... my opinion:the top NFL player going into this season, and was for last season, will be Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson, who tore through the NFL,for 2,097 yards, last season... 2012's number one,Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be in the top ten, again this season... if Peterson is not number one on the list, which was voted on by the players,it is worth absolutely nothing...

ode to the Mizpah...

the event that i am going to talk about happened on October 31,2006,up in Reno,Nevada... there was a historic hotel up there called the Mizpah... it was built in 1922,and was on the Historic Places Register,of the United States... it was a very unique, and beautiful hotel... going through the hallways was like going through a maze, but if you knew the hotel, you went through the hotel like a stiff breeze... the residents were a mixture of people, but they were great people... it was destroyed by arson that Halloween night,in 2006... why would i talk about this, now? well, when up in Reno,i stayed there so much that i knew every inch of that beautiful hotel... even now,i still miss it,and i may not be the only one... i knew the owners very well, and even got discounts on room rates, though the room rates were the cheapest in town, but honestly,i would have stayed there for nothing, because i adored that hotel... the night that it was engulfed in flames,i was planning my usual trip up to Reno, and was stunned and absolutely heartbroken,by its destruction... the first trip up to Reno, after the fire for me was years after the fire, and the hotel site was asphalt, with a fence around it... i stood there for about five minutes, and was again,heartbroken... twelve people died in the fire that Halloween night, perhaps many of those that i did know... to their memories, and to the memory of a great hotel,i write this...

a day at Lambeau Field...

just a gorgeous day at Lambeau Field... like i told you earlier,it does appear from the top of Lambeau Field that there is a tarp on the grass, but the tarp appears to allow the sprinkling system to work, because i have seen sprinklers going off during the afternoons... it is partly cloudy, and looks beautiful...
