Packers' news...

Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers won his second MVP(Most Valuable Player)award... Former Packers' general manager Ron Wolf was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame,in the contributor category... during his tenure as general manager, the Packers had the second best winning percentage,in the NFL(.639),right behind the San Francisco 49ers...

commentary...

as for the game(Super Bowl XLIX),i will watch the game, but honestly, with the sound off, because i do not want to hear word one from anybody... even though i do have a dinner date, during the game,i will watch most of the game... my father said to be professional about the game, even though,my personal feelings about the game are those of disgust, and stomach pumping... to put it bluntly,as soon as the last play is over,i will turn the game off... i will then blog about the game, and end the NFL season, with class, but i do not care about who wins the game...

blog statement...

day off.. will note Super Bowl score, but will not watch the game... have things to do,tomorrow afternoon... "Idaho Spud" time...

blog statement...

will be back on here full bore, next week, because i have not felt like doing this, since that miserable Sunday afternoon, but honestly,i felt like i was burnt out, even before that day,so i took some very valuable time to recuperate from the NFL season, and NHL season, which is still going on... my blogging is very important to me,but i want to do a very good job,and i noticed that the quality of my blogging was,in my opinion, sub par,for a few weeks, and that is not acceptable to me... i will be blogging next week, but honestly,it will be slower at first,to get back into rhythm, over the long haul... finally, that is most important to me...

commentary...

anyone believe that i am going to watch Super Bowl XLIX,Sunday??? one phrase:to quote "Stone Cold" Steve Austin:oh,HELL NO!!!!!!!!!! i respect both teams, but there is absolutely no way that i am watching that game, because i do not like either team, and to me,both teams may be good, but honestly,i rather see paint dry,on a wall, than watch that game... my "hatred" for the Seattle Seahawks is almost as strong as DA BEARS... honestly,it is not the way that they play that irritates me,but it is the way that they trash talk, belittling every opponent, before every game... to tell you the absolute truth:head coach Pete Carroll is a very good coach,no doubt, but personally,i think he is lower than pond scum, because, simply,of the way that he "weaseled" his way out of USC,telling everyone who would listen that he had no clue about the forthcoming crippling NCAA sanctions,on USC,and if that is true,i have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn,or as i say,i have beachfront property in Arizona to sell you... that "fact" is moronic to believe... hope Seattle loses,Sunday, and the game shuts up that "weasel"...

memories of people who i loved...

sometimes i write from the heart, not just scores and highlights,on this blog... it is not easy to write my blogs, but it will be just fine... today of all days,i feel like i am not alone, even though i am,because of my memories that strangely flood into my head,at odd times... there are people who i swear are around me right now,and they are truly missed by my heart... some of them never knew how their lives affected me,in a very positive way, because simply they were my family or a very dear friend,to me... they will remain unnamed but they were so kind to me... one only recently passed away in Pennsylvania, and she was a sweetheart of a person, and i have tears in my eyes,as i type this... the last time i talked to her,she simply called me a "ding dong",and we both laughed, and i got a message from her grandson, who lives in NYC,thanking me for the thoughtful blog post that i gave him on Facebook, reminding him that,"she would laugh at him,in Heaven,if he danced in Times Square on New Year's Eve"... she was a sweetheart, and i miss her, along with five other people, all whom are whispering in my ear, saying that they are all around me,and basically laughing at my tears... they are all out of pain, and loving life,in Heaven... may they be happy and blessed there...

blog statement...

as for Super Bowl XLIX,i will not watch the game live(as of right now),so i am going to take some more time off, except for breaking news,or something i want to talk about, before next week... i am still worn out, because of putting everything into the NFL and NHL seasons,so far,so it will take some more time off, until i am near 100% ready to blog...mentally,i am just worn out,so i will occasionally be on here in the next week... unfortunately, the second half of the NHL season starts tomorrow,so i may be on here tomorrow, but it will be slow in blogging, until next week

commentary...

to those pundits who think that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady cheated, and one(ESPN's Michael Wilbon),who wants the Patriots to be thrown out of the Super Bowl, for cheating,i say:who honestly cares about what you think??? even if they used deflated footballs in the game, they only used them in the first half(they were up only,17-7,at half),they scored 28 straight points in the second half,to simply devastate the Indianapolis Colts,45-7... if the game was close,i could see their point,but,45-7??? the NFL will punish the Patriots, with a fine, and lost draft picks, after the season... there may be suspensions, depending on what happened, but the Patriots will be punished, and to the pundits,i say:you pundits do not care about the NFL,you just want everyone's blood,so you make a mountain out of a molehill... the simple fact that if the Patriots cheated,so be it,and the NFL will deal with it,but to suggest that the Patriots vacate the game,or have head coach Bill Belichick suspended for Super Bowl XLIX is moronic and absolutely stupid, because the Patriots won the game,45-7,over the Colts, and to have the Patriots forfeit,or vacate, the game, like Wilbon wants,is even stupider than that... to the pundits who simply wants the NFL's hide over the domestic violence scandal, the Washington Redskins' name and trademark, and now the stupid story about deflated footballs,in the AFC Championship game,i give them all an one finger salute, and then i say:who honestly cares about that you think??? i surely do not care a whit about what you pundits think...

blog statement...

now, folks,i am mentally, and physically, burnt out... i could go to bed right, sleep for three days, and still feel like manure... to tell you the absolute truth, the Packers' loss last Sunday to the Seahawks was trying for me,not that the Packers lost, but it was the way that they lost the game that honestly took everything out of me,mentally and physically,if you honestly know what i mean... honestly,if i do not take a break from blogging right now,i would be worth a piece of manure,so i am taking a break... how long a break??? i do not know, but when i am back,i have to be at,or near,100 percent, and right now,i am at about one percent,of capacity... see you soon!!!!!!

commentary...

normally i would be very disappointed, and i am,but honestly, the Packers lose as a team(that means everybody),not pointing fingers,at individuals,so they will use this as motivation for a successful season, next season,so shareholders/owners,and fans throughout Packer Nation(all 368,000 shareholders/owners),and millions of Packers' fans, stand up,and pick your chins off the floor of defeat, and realize that not every year does the best team win... look at the rest of the NFL,steely eyed, and be the real meaning of the word,"champion",in which you are all that and more,period... i am a Packers' shareholder/owner,and am damn proud of it,PERIOD...

blog statement...

back to "Idaho Spud" time, for a few days...

commentary...

there are certain games that i will not see again,ever... like the 37-20 loss to the New York Giants,in 2011,or the "Fail Mary" game,in 2012,or game six of the 1986 World Series, between the New York Mets, and the Boston Red Sox(thank God,they have won a couple of World Series, since then)... by the way,i was stunned, and fell on a restaurant bar floor, when the Mets won that game... as for yesterday's loss to the Seahawks,i will add that game to the list of never watched games, after broadcast... i am very, very, very disappointed(to say the least),period...

commentary...

first of all,i am very very disappointed in yesterday's loss to the Seahawks... however,it is just a game... a painful loss,no doubt, but we are one of the best teams in the NFL,with or without a Lombardi Trophy... like i said earlier, this game will haunt me for awhile, and will hurt in a way that i can not explain to anyone... i do not care a whit about what the pundits say:an epic collapse, and "maybe the worst loss in Packers' history"... that is absolute bull, because even a loss to the Chicago Bears hurts to me,sometimes even more, because they are a division rival... to me,a game is a game, and even though this loss is painful,it is just a game,period... to those pundits who think that the Seahawks are better than the Packers,i tip my hat... however, the Packers' offense did not play Packers' football, and yet,the defense did play their best game all season, and when you turn five turnovers into only six points, you deserve to get beat,if the team's offense is not running on all cylinders, and the Packers' offense, after halftime, was not clicking on all cylinders... that was obvious, and the Packers let the Seahawks hang around, until they caught fire, and beat the Packers... to those pundits who said that the Packers were going to blown away by the Seahawks, they can take this:an one finger salute, because they are parasites on sports... that is my opinion, and i do not care a whit about what they believe... it was a game, and only a game... a collapse, maybe??? an epic one,no??? "the worst loss in Packers' history",no way in Hades,period...

commentary...

now,i am taking a few days from blogging... will note the Super Bowl score, but will not watch the game... how long i take off is unknown, but it will more than a couple days... i am extremely disappointed, and that will not change in a few days... i need time away from here, and even though i really do not have the money to go anywhere,i will sit here at home, take a few walks, and say very little to anybody, except family... this game may haunt me for awhile,folks... that is how disappointed i am,after this loss... i will be back shortly...

commentary...

i am very disappointed in the Packers' loss today... Aaron Rodgers' comments notwithstanding, after the game, the Packers did not play well enough to win,or secondly, did not play sixty minutes of Packers' football, and that cost the Packers,in the end of the game... they allowed a sluggish and staggering Seahawks' team to hang around, and got bit, like a rattlesnake bites a victim, and finally kills its victim... they played defensive football,on offense, after going up by sixteen points,at halftime... they thought they had control, and were coasting, and the Seahawks got on fire, and then simply beat them,period... congratulations to the Seahawks!!!!!!!

Packers' game score and comments...

Seattle Seahawks 28,Green Bay Packers 22,overtime... simply said, that is the reason that they are defending Super Bowl Champions, and they never quit on this game... i could nitpick the game, and say that we were robbed, but honestly, the best team won,today... congratulations to the Seahawks... however,i will not watch the Super Bowl(Super Bowl XLIX)... enough said...

commentary to the pundits...

nearly every major pundit is picking the Seahawks to beat the Packers,today... to tell you the truth,i really do not care what they really think, because i have turned off NFL Network and will not watch any of the pre-game bull, because simply i am tired of all of the one-sided hype... i deeply respect any team that plays the Packers, but honestly, this week has been so pro-Seahawks that i basically gave up on the pundits being fair, and to,again, tell you the truth,i will not forget this week at all, because the pundits have "jumped the shark",every day this week, and have basically pissed me off... the Seahawks should be favored,no doubt, but the odds,in my opinion, are way out of whack(7 1/2 points),and basically, they are saying that the Packers should not even show up(being funny),but it is not funny to me... it is an insult to every Packers' shareholder/owner,and fan,and i will not forget this week,period... to every major pundit who has been so pro-Seahawks this week,i say only one thing:here is an one finger salute to you...

most critical play of the Packers' 2014 season...

the play of the year for the Packers happened,in week four, against the Chicago Bears,at Soldier Field... let me re-rack it for you folks:Packers up 21-17,time running out in first half,Martellus Bennett caught a pass near the goal line, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix literally dragged him away from the goal line, stopping him less than a foot short from the goal line... at that point,Bears were 2-1,and the Packers were 1-2,and Matt Forte and the Bears were gashing the Packers' defense, with big runs, and Packers' defense was swiss cheese... if the Bears go up,24-21,at half, basically it will be a shootout, and a possible Bears' win,but the Packers stopped(dragged) Bennett, and then the Packers' offense scored 24 straight points, and the defense intercepted Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler twice, and basically shut down the Bears... note:the Bears were never the same team after that game, and went belly up in the NFC North division, and finished dead last,at 5-11,in the division... update:when i wrote this on January 16th,i simply forgot the Packers had scored a touchdown to lead at halftime, but they(the Packers)scored 24 straight points to ice game... date updated:June 26,2015... sorry,folks..

Packers/Seahawks game notes...

Russell Wilson... Aaron Rodgers... Marshawn Lynch... Eddie Lacy... Jermaine Kearse... Ricardo Lockette... Jordy Nelson... Randall Cobb... Cliff Avril...  Bobby Wagner... Clay Matthews... Julius Peppers... Legion of Boom...  an underrated Packers' secondary... Steven Hauschka... Mason Crosby... what else can be said,Sunday... nothing!!!!!!!!! bring it on!!!!!!!!!! GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!

Bainbridge Island,Washington bans cheese...

to be funny, the city of Bainbridge Island,Washington,in Kitsap County has banned cheese,tomorrow... i know that they must be Seahawks' fans, but when i lived a short time in Poulsbo,Washington, next door to that city, they were not that crazy!!!!!

commentary...

i keep reading and hearing that the Seahawks are going to blow out the Packers,on Sunday... first of all, that is a possibility, but folks you tend to underestimate Aaron Rodgers and company,by a mile... the pundits talk about how Seattle is nearly impossible to beat at home... tell that to the Arizona Cardinals, last season, and to the Dallas Cowboys, this season, and who did the Packers just beat,on Sunday??? the Dallas Cowboys,folks... let me remind you that the last time the Packers played in Seattle,in 2012,they lost with a "Fail Mary" pass,as time ran out... as for opening night, when they did lose handily,36-16,to the Seahawks, honestly the Packers were an enigma on offense, because they had rookies, like Davante Adams, backing up the dynamic duo of Jordy Nelson, and Randall Cobb, who,as i type this, led the NFL,this season,in combined touchdown passes, and that night, nothing worked in the second half... probably, the worst game this season,period... now,the Packers have had about 20 weeks,to dissect that piece of film, bit by bit... Aaron Rodgers led the NFL in fewest interceptions, with only five, all season... do you honestly believe that Seattle is going to blow out the Packers??? honestly,i really do not think so... i am not saying that Seattle will not win,but honestly,i am sick and tired of hearing and reading that Seattle is SUPER TEAM OF THE DECADE(being funny,of course),but i am ready to vomit all over the apartment if i hear one more thing about the Seahawks,so here is what i will do,give the television an one finger salute, whenever that is mentioned, because i simply do not believe that at all... the Seahawks should be favored,no doubt, but i will not believe that the Packers are compared to the 1976-1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers who lost a NFL record 26 games in a row(just being funny),in comparing the Packers to the Seahawks, and the Seahawks' defense is compared to the 1985 Chicago Bears',and 2000 Baltimore Ravens' defenses... what hogwash!!!!!!!! folks, the pundits are almost that bad,and one-sided,in their opinions... to the pundits,i give an one finger salute,period...

Packers/Seahawks game notes...

Sunday will be the third time that the Packers and Seahawks will have met in the NFL playoffs, but the last time was in the Brett Favre era,and both times the Packers won(33-27,in 2004,when Al Harris picked the football off and returned it for six points,in overtime, shortly after Matt Hasselback said the infamous words,"we want the ball, and we are going to score",and 42-20,in the 2007 NFC divisional playoff game, when Seattle went up 14-0,and then the Packers scored on six straight drives,to blow the Seahawks out of Lambeau Field)... Sunday's game will be the first in Seattle... unfortunately, and fortunately, for both teams, the history between the teams does not matter a whit.because the Seahawks are (gulp) the defending Super Bowl Champions, and the Packers get a second chance to beat the Seahawks, after playing like crap on opening night,of the 2014 NFL season(36-16),in Seattle... i hate to admit that the Seahawks will be favored, and pundits are saying that it would be a "major" upset to have the Packers win the game, basically writing off the Packers' chances... to the pundits,i say:you can eat crow, and your words, because the Packers, and Seahawks are different teams than earlier in the season, and the pundits may believe that Seattle may win by 20+ points, like last time, but let me say this, the game will be closer this time, most likely, like the "Fail Mary" game,in 2012-score-wise,so the Seahawks may win,but NEVER EVER,count the Packers out... i never do,folks... much more later,folks...

blog statement...

do not feel well... head feels like twenty pounds of crud... staying in and watching television... in fact,as i type this,NFL Network is playing rerun of the Packers/Cowboys game... YAY!!!!! will start previewing the Packers/Seahawks game, probably tonight, definitely tomorrow...

Monday, January 12, 2015

commentary...

Aaron Rodgers did something Sunday that you did not realize,folks... he did throw three touchdown catches... however,he did not throw a touchdown to either Jordy Nelson,or Randall Cobb... he threw them to Andrew Quarless,Richard Rodgers, and Davante Adams-his third, fourth, and fifth receiving options... to anyone who thinks that Green Bay's team offense is only a four trick pony(Cobb, Nelson,Eddie Lacy, and Rodgers),think long and hard,on what happened Sunday...

simple comment...

by the way,i am a proud Cheesehead,period(laughing)...

commentary...

the game between the Cowboys and the Packers was the ultimate gut check for Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers... if pundits do not think that Rodgers is not tough, physically and mentally, check out yesterday's second half of the game... he did it on one leg... that is tough,pundits... the Cowboys took away wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who was limited to a measly 22 receiving yards, but Randall Cobb had eight catches for 116 yards, and the star of the day,was wide receiver Davante Adams, who had seven catches for 117 yards, including an absolutely beautiful 46 yard touchdown pass and run(mostly run),to bring the Packers within a point,at 21-20... i normally do not mention a rookie, but a comment by Rodgers, made my ears pick up this morning... he said that Adams had a chance to be great in this league... Eddie Lacy had his usual 100 yard game(101 yards,on 19 carries),but a 29 yard run that he had in the game, set up the Packers' comeback, because it loosened up the Cowboys' defense just enough to allow Aaron Rodgers complete his last ten passes, and a fortunate challenge,by Mike McCarthy(mentioned earlier in blog)made the comeback complete... it was the first challenge by McCarthy upheld all season... oh,by the way,did i mention that Rodgers did it on one leg???

Sunday, January 11, 2015

commentary...

now,by the rule book, the catch by Dez Bryant was not a catch, because the moment he hit the ground, the football popped loose from his grasp, even though he juggled the ball in end zone, because in the opinion of the referees, and the league office,he did not complete the process of the catch(the Calvin Johnson rule)... Johnson caught a touchdown pass to basically "win" a game, against the Bears, opening week,in 2010,and as he got off the ground,he spun the football on the ground, and it was ruled at that time, not a catch,by the referees, and upheld by the NFL league office... the rule was changed to current "complete the process" rule,so,like it or not,Bryant did not complete the process of the catch,in the eyes of the NFL front office... it sucks,Dallas, because he made a heck of an effort,to make the catch, but that is football... we can sympathize with you:we should have beaten the Seattle Seahawks,in 2012,12-7,when M.D. Jennings intercepted the pass from 24 yards, but the pass was ruled a catch by both Golden Tate, and Jennings,by one of the referees,as he unpiled the people on the last play of the game... so the the final score that night was 14-12,Seahawks(the infamous "Fail Mary" game),in Seattle... so that is football...

Packers game score,and comment...

Packers 26,Cowboys 21... comments tomorrow... Packers play the Seattle Seahawks,in Seattle, for the NFC Championship, and a shot at Super Bowl XLIX...

in my life,part 9...

why is it that,on weekends,i wake up very early(it is 3:48 am)??? i tend to miss my loved ones who have passed away the most on the weekends... everyone from my dear UNC,my soulmate,to my dearly departed mother... it really sucks... i was reminded of my dearly departed mother,in not a good way, because of a lousy unannounced visit by one of the worst people that i have ever known-my sister... she "was" in the neighborhood(she lives near a town in the foothills,so i do not think it was an accident,or "in the neighborhood")... well, after about fifteen minutes,it ended in a way that i honestly thought it would, with me slamming the door(shaking the building)on my sister's rear end,as i tossed her out... i finally told her what i honestly thought of her,so i feel good, because she really deserved to hear that,period... i could go on and on,but she is not worth any of the breath out of my body... back to the real subject:my loved ones that i really miss with all my heart, every one of them were sweet people... UNC was the "black sheep" of the family... i mean that with much affection... we were more alike that i want,or need,to admit, because we both survived some of the most difficult times,in our lives, growing up,and we had our "tough love" moments, like the moment that he jumped on my chest and slapped me four times, because i was a total moron... he aggravated a fractured cheekbone that i had suffered in a mugging four days earlier... i never blamed him for that... in fact,i laughed about it,even with him,in the years, when we were roommates,a second time... he was a person who would flip me off(laying it out on his pants, and just wait for me to notice),and then we would laugh our asses off, when i did notice... i remember the time that i farted, and it forced him to go into the kitchen to get away from the smell, and he told me that it was the worst "gas attack",since he had his two German Shepherds... i laughed so hard that night... i even "tortured" him by walking into the kitchen after him... we were like that, doing that kind of things to each other, and just laughing all the time... my soulmate was an unique person... she was the most beautiful woman that i ever knew... honestly,we both had our moments... of any person i ever knew, she was more like me than i can ever say, which at times, was like mixing gasoline and a match, but it never got physical between us,because we really loved each other, but i did take a lot of long walks, while angry, one of which that took me across the country to NYC,and Connecticut, and i finally called her days later, while in Scranton Pennsylvania(funny story that i have written about on here a few times)... one of the problems was financial, but i never was told by her that she was in extreme pain from her severe back injury(she was a paraplegic from a car accident),and if i had been told,i believe, half of the crud that we fought about, would have been moot, because i really loved her with all my heart... i even asked her to marry me,on my birthday,in 1992,on the phone, from a hotel room,in Saint George,Utah... that time,i was not angry... actually,i was working in Utah,at Zion National Park, that summer... that time was,and still is,very special to me... as for my dear departed mother,i remember a trip to Lompoc,California that we took, and yet, what is memorable is that we found this diner, outside Vandenberg AFB,that had the absolute worst food ever,so when we would harass each other(talk to one another,in our own special way),and get hungry,we would say,"let's go to Lompoc",and start laughing like hyenas... i miss those times, most deeply... hey,Mom,let's go to Lompoc...YAY!!!!!!!!

comments on how the Cowboys/Packers game may go down...

looking at the statistics of both teams,in the Cowboys/Packers game tells me one thing:it will be a very good game, and if the statistics stand up,the game may go down to the last second... the statistics indicate that it will be a cliffhanger... may the best team win,Sunday...

"Ice Bowl" trivia...

how many times was Bart Starr sacked by the Dallas Cowboys' defense, during the 1967 NFL Championship game, known as the "Ice Bowl"??? how long was the game winning drive for the Packers,on the coldest New Year's Eve,in the history of Green Bay,Wisconsin??? answer to both questions:Starr was sacked eight times,by the Cowboys, that day... the game winning drive, that day,was 68 yards...

NFL historic note...

2014 Dallas Cowboys/Green Bay Packers,1972 Miami Dolphins/Pittsburgh Steelers, and 1948 Chicago Cardinals/Philadelphia Eagles... my father asked if two teams undefeated on road and at home, for a season, have ever met,in a game... those are the three times,in NFL history...

Cowboys/Packers game notes...

pundits, who think they know football, are making the chic pick of the Cowboys beating the Packers... even though,i respect Dallas very much, but honestly,i do not see a Cowboys' victory, because Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers have too many offensive weapons, and they can score points in bundles, and the Packers' defense is getting no respect,by anyone... they are a better team defense than the Cowboys... the pundits honestly believe that DeMarco Murray is going to run wild through the Packers' defense, like crap through a goose... the pundits forget about one Packers' running back who ran for over 1,000 yards, himself, one Eddie Lacy... if they were playing in Dallas,i could understand their chic pick, because the Packers are not the best road team, but they are playing at Lambeau Field, which will be cold and filled with 80,750 hostile and unfriendly Packers' fans... Aaron Rodgers may be 1-3,since Super Bowl XLV,with two of those defeats coming at Lambeau Field, but, folks, the Packers' team defense was swiss cheese, and the San Francisco 49ers just beat the Packers by three points,in a very good game... this year's team defense has improved over the season, and honestly, may be the best team defense, since Super Bowl XLV... with a potent team offense, and an improved team defense, the Packers are a better team than the pundits realize... they have a respectable forty one quarterback sacks this season, and i am not saying that the Cowboys can not win,but being fair, they will have a fight on their hands... it will not be crap through a goose,folks... Murray will get his yards, and yet,can the Dallas defense stop Rodgers and company from scoring a lot of points??? that is the $64,000 question, isn't it,folks???

a footnote in cuisine... anybody for an EMT(laughing)!!!!!!!

as a odd footnote, the Packers and Lambeau Field will premiere a burger,Sunday, named "the Big Game Burger"... it weighs 3.5 pounds, has 2,395 calories, and is actually half the size of a football, including the bun... what a burger...

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

Cowboys/Packers game notes...

the Dallas Cowboys are a challenge for the Packers:DeMarco Murray ran for a Cowboys' record 1,845 yards, had 416 receiving yards, for 2,261 scrimmage yards, scoring 13 touchdowns, and wide receiver Dez Bryant had 88 catches for 1,320 receiving yards, scoring 16 touchdowns... Tony Romo threw for 3,705 yards with 34 touchdown passes, and only nine interceptions... the Cowboys' offense is very good, but the problem for the Cowboys is their young, but talented, defensive secondary... can the Cowboys limit the Packers' time on the field??? yes,by running the football,so the Packers top priority should be:stop Murray, who is the heart of the offense, and make Romo throw the football... if the Packers do that, they have a good chance to win... however,on the Packers' side, you have Aaron Rodgers and company, who will score points,if the Cowboys' defense does not put Rodgers on the ground a few times... the Packers' defense has been getting better throughout the season, even in Buffalo, when they only allowed four field goals,in that misfire of the Packers' offense,in that 21-13 loss,to the Bills... the last two weeks, the common opponent was the Detroit Lions... both teams beat the Lions(30-20,Packers,and 24-20,Cowboys)... the Cowboys are an unbelievable 8-0 on the road, but the Packers are a dominant 8-0,at Lambeau Field, scoring almost 38 points at home... so it should be an interesting game to watch,Sunday...

a tidbit about the Cowboys/Packers game...

starting tomorrow,i will preview the Cowboys/Packers game... one tidbit for thought:the Cowboys are 8-0,on the road, including an impressive win, against the Seattle Seahawks,in Seattle... however, the Packers are 8-0,at Lambeau Field, this season, averaging an impressive 37.5 points,at home, including a 55 point outburst, against the Chicago Bears, this season(a game in which they scored an unbelievable 42 points,by halftime, against the Bears;it was 42-0,at halftime)... something has to give... critical factor will be the weather:near zero temps, most of the week(wind chill),will be 17 degrees, but wind chill will be near zero(current forecast)...

commentary...

to those pundits, and fans of the Detroit Lions, screaming about the reversed pass interference call, and the non-helmet call on the Dallas Cowboys' wide receiver Dez Bryant,so what, and who cares??? every team goes through missed calls, example:the "Fail Mary" game, between the Seattle Seahawks, and the Packers,in 2012,in which there were multiple calls screwed up,before the last call that cost the Packers the game... the fact is,and was, that the Lions lost a 14-0,and a 17-7 halftime lead,to the Cowboys, and as the Packers lost in 2012,to Seattle, both teams played very poorly at various times, and deserved to lose(letting a team hang around that had no business being in the game, like the Cowboys, and in 2012, the Seahawks, against the Packers)... if you want to talk about stupid calls, and missed opportunities:how about that 4th and 1,that turned into a 4th and 6,and then a shanked ten yard(that is right:ten yards) punt,by the Lions, that led directly to the winning touchdown,by the Cowboys???,and how about those fumbles by the Lions that ended the game... way to go,Jim Caldwell, and the Lions, who have won only one playoff game, since 1957!!!!! for those Lions' fans, who complain:BOOOO HOOO!!!!! who cares a whit??? your team lost the game, when you had control in the game, and that vaunted Lions' defense was on the field too much, and collapsed at the critical time, and Matthew Stafford was finally the erratic Stafford who made mistakes,at the critical times, that cost the Lions the game, and finally, head coach Jim Caldwell tried to be too cute,in giving his punter five more yards, instead of going for it,on fourth down and one,and then the punter shanked the punt for ten yards(no misprint:ten yards)... it was a beautiful collapse by the woeful Lions, and it was a complete team collapse... WAY TO GO,LIONS!!!!!!!

Stuart Scott 1965-2015...

longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott passed away today,at age 49,from cancer... may i get a big "BOOYAH"*,and may he and his family rest,"on the cool side of the pillow"*,tonight... prayers go out to his family... *catchphrases by him...

Wild Card playoff game score, and historic note...

Dallas Cowboys 24,Detroit Lions 20... Cowboys play the Packers, next Sunday,at Lambeau Field... historic note:when was the last time the Cowboys played the Packers,in Green Bay,in the playoffs??? if you said,December 31st 1967,you would be correct... in the "Ice Bowl",the Packers won game,21-17,when Bart Starr sneaked in from the one yard line,at the end of the game, for the NFL Championship...

blog statement...

on the day of the funeral of NYPD detective first grade* Wenjian Liu and, last week, the funeral of Rafael Ramos,i dedicate the banner of this blog,in memory of both detectives... i give a deep hat tip to both NYPD detectives...*promoted to detective after death...

comments...

it appears that i made a mistake in stating that if Dallas beats the Lions, they will face the Packers, because as i look at the playoff pairing on NFL.com,i can not figure it out... i know that the lowest seed remaining after this weekend plays Seattle,so i may be right, but again, who knows, and who really cares!!!!! GO PACK GO!!!!!!

blog statement...

i took yesterday off,and will take most of the week off,but will start previewing the Packers, and their opponent starting on Tuesday, because if the Dallas Cowboys beat the Detroit Lions, the Cowboys will come to Lambeau Field,so it will take a few days to get up to speed... honestly,i do not care who "we" play(me being a Packers' shareholder/owner),so it is a big WE*... *in that case,i am a BIG homer... my opinion:personally,as a Packers' shareholder/owner,i want the ring,folks,period... nothing else matters!!!!!!!! GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!

correction...

oops,i forgot one... put the immeasurable "Sweetness" Walter Payton,on the previous list of Chicago Bears... when someone asked Emmitt Smith, who was the greatest running back??? he said,"Hands down,it was Payton"...

Bears that i admire,and respect...

this a list of Chicago Bears that i admire(it is a very short list, consists of three people):Gale Sayers,Dick Butkis, and "Papa Bear" George Halas... DA BEARS SUCK,but these people named are the cream of the crop...

blog statement...

both of my blogs will be improving this year...

commentary...

during a press conference, yesterday,Ndamukong Suh revealed his arrogant self, again,by not discussing his stomping of Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, during the 30-20 Packers' win, last Sunday, against the Detroit Lions... he adamantly refused the question nine separate times... he is a very good football player, but personally,he is an arrogant,self-absorbed piece of work(being polite)... he,in my opinion,is one of the dirtiest players,in the NFL,doing things outside the lines, and the NFL should have suspended Suh for that one game, but the NFL has gotten soft in player discipline... that is my opinion, and you can disagree with me,but honestly,i simply do not care a whit about your opinion...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
