historical Packers' trivia...

the first shareholder/owner meeting was September 17,1923... 204 stockholders bought 1,109 shares($5 per share) for a net profit of $5,545... however, numbers at end of year under "Capital Stock Issued" listed the stock sale,at $5,585... in 1931,a fan(Willard J. Bent)sued the Packers after falling out of the stands,at City Stadium, and was awarded $5,000... verdict was handed down in February,1933,and the Packers went into receivership... the NFL went to bat and transferred the ownership to the club's president(Leland H. Joannes)and waived the transfer fee,in an unanimous vote... interesting footnote:the receivership was never officially terminated... on December 14,1934,a stock sale was launched,to raise "$10,000",and over the length of the sale,113 shareholders bought 484 shares for $12,100,but the Gazette-Journal counted 291 more shareholders, for a total of $12,416... in late 1949,facing a $90,000 shortfall, the Packers organized an intra-squad game to raise funds,so six days later, they launched a third stock sale, after a heated meeting... they wanted to raise "$200,000",but they raised by the newspaper's own story,(popular number:"$118,000"),but ledgers indicate that 4,165 1/2 shares* were sold for $104,187.50 to 1,651 shareholders...  *there were nine half shares sold for $12... at a victory party on May 22,1950,club president Emil Fischer crowed,"we have done it again... once again,Green Bay has proven to the nation what civil pride means"... that is the start of the story of the Packers' public ownership... i am very proud to be a shareholder/owner of the Packers, and of the history of the team... GO PACK GO!!!!

on to 2016...

this is a post to all my family wherever they may be... you are simply loved by me more than i can ever say... to one survivor to all of you,may you have health, love, and happiness,in 2016... here is a big kiss and hug for everyone, and to the dearly departed... may we never forget those who have passed away, and may they be in our hearts,forever... on to 2016...

commentary...

yesterday,i got a little edgy with my father over last weekend's 38-8 Packers' loss to the Arizona Cardinals... he kept on giving me the needle over the loss, and finally,i told him that enough is enough... sorry,Dad... you must understand that it was not the 38-8 score,or the needle being jabbed into my side by my father... it was the simple fact that the Packers simply have not played Packers' football, the team effort simply was not there last weekend,or the fact that the Packers playing like they are a third rate expansion team over most of this season simply disgusts me,period... you say that ten wins is good... i agree, but it is the way that they have beaten those teams that has irritated me,this season... i got to thinking about what is missing with this year's team, and you can talk about injuries, bad playcalling, bad defense at times, especially last week, but honestly,it simply comes down to one thing... wonder what it is??? because i do finally know what it is... it is not injuries and such... it is simply team grit... an attitude of "who cares,we hate you,and we are going to beat the pants off of you"... DA BEARS were 15-1,in 1985(the best team in the NFL),and they had the attitude of a team who said that you are not going to beat them,period... they were coached by Mike Ditka,a coach who simply hated the Packers, and we hated him... William Perry scored two touchdowns against the Packers:one at Soldier Field,on Monday Night Football, and caught one touchdown pass at Lambeau Field, later on that season... a funny story came out of that Lambeau Field game:somehow,DA BEARS' locker room got flooded before the game,so Ditka, pissed about what happened, called for that touchdown pass to Perry... that is grit:an attitude of "we hate you,and you are the enemy"... folks,i miss that attitude, that grit in a rivalry, like DA BEARS' linebacker breaking the Packers' player's nose, with a sucker punch,or the Packers' team band marching down Michigan Avenue, going into hotels on route to the game, blaring at full volume, one year... by the way,the one loss in 1985 that DA BEARS suffered, was on Monday Night Football,in Miami, and they got spanked 48-17,that night...

Packers' trivia,and comments...

what current Packers' receiver has similar statistics to Jordy Nelson, when Nelson was in his second year??? answer:Davante Adams... note:so there is hope,folks... he just needs more practice to catch Rodgers' passes over the off-season... my personal opinion:Nelson's injury hurt him most,as the season has progressed...

blog statement...

i am fine physically, but not in a good mood... need time to get head on straight... will preview Minnesota Vikings/Packers game,Sunday night,tomorrow... will be just fine, but am just very irritable, and honestly need "time on my knees",and some Bible study, over the next few days, and need some quiet time reading,too... nothing seriously wrong, but am not too happy...

critical plays to a rout...

4th and 2,Packers run a fake punt, get seven yards, then Rodgers gets sacked on consecutive downs to end that drive... next drive,Mike Daniels intercepted Carson Palmer, runs it down to the Cardinals' 15,and then Rodgers throws a bad pass and gets intercepted in the Cardinals' end zone, and then the Cardinals drive it 80 yards to make game,17-0,in last minute of first half,at halftime... Packers get second half kickoff, and within first minute of second half, fumble, and then the Cardinals make it 24-0 with a touchdown run, shortly after that... later on,Rodgers gets strip-sacked,fumbles both times, and Cardinals turn fumbles into touchdown returns,to close out scoring,in a 38-8 rout... in about six minutes of game play,it went from 10-0 to 24-0,and then the coup de grace,of two,not one, touchdown returns,by fumbles,to make a total rout of the game... folks, that happens... snowballing mistakes do happen... you can blame injuries on the offensive line, and the mistakes for the rout, but honestly, games like this do happen even to the best teams, but now is the time to stand up,and be the Green Bay Packers... if "we" get beat Sunday,by the Minnesota Vikings,i will tip my hat to the better team(out of respect)... however,i would love a third crack at the Vikings in the playoffs, and "bury" them into whatever turf the teams play on... Packer Pride!!!! that is what matters!!!!

last night's NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 49,New York Giants 17...

commentary...

honestly,if i was to say anything about yesterday's game against the Cardinals,it would be unprintable for this blog... here is a story about a similar loss:October 2nd,1994,Philadelphia Eagles 40,San Francisco 49ers 8... why bring up that 49ers' loss??? Steve Young and Bill Seifert almost came to blows on the sideline, when Seifert pulled Young in the third quarter... why do i remember that game??? that night, was in Reno, staying at the Mizpah hotel, and grabbed the papers from Reno and San Francisco, the next morning, and went back to bed,and read the papers, especially the Sporting Green of the Chroncle(remember when the sports section was literally green??? i do),and read the blistering report of the game... why do i bring that up??? the 49ers won the Super Bowl that season... i am not saying that the Packers will win Super Bowl 50(not by a long shot)... luckily, the 49ers got smoked early in 1994... unfortunately, for the Packers, they are frustrated, and embarrassed by what happened yesterday... also, unfortunately, they have only seven days to get their heads out of their backsides, forget about reading their newspaper clippings-good or bad-and remember that the Vikings are coming to Lambeau Field to "kick ass and chew bubblegum, and they are out of bubblegum"(thanks Roddy Piper)... the Packers better come out to play Sunday,or they will be embarrassed again... i do not think that will happen again,folks...

Packers' game score,and commentary...

Arizona Cardinals 38,Packers 8... nine sacks, two fumbles returned for a touchdown, and with an interception,in the Cardinals' end zone, that led to a eighty yard touchdown drive,in last minute of first half led the Cardinals to a demolition of the Packers,in Arizona... only thirty seven passing yards in the first half,by Aaron Rodgers, did not help, along with eight sacks(and both fumbles returned for a touchdown)... it was UGLY,UGLY,and UGLY!!!! demolition is a kind word for this piece of manure... i do not have anything else to say, because i also am disgusted with the way that the Packers played,today... not with the score... that happens, but the way that the Packers played today was simply pathetic,period....

NFC North division game scores...

Detroit Lions 32,San Francisco 49ers 17... DA BEARS 26,Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21... Minnesota Vikings play the New York Giants,tonight...

beatdown of the week...

Houston Texans 34,Tennessee Titans 6... when you give up thirty four straight points, you deserve the dubious distinction of the beatdown of the week...

the Packers win,if...

the Packers win,if they can slow up the Cardinals, muddy up the game, score early, and often, and play Packers' defense... a shootout with the Cardinals and the Packers, most likely, lose the game... however,do not count out the Packers, because they will come to play, and show Packer Pride... whether they win is the $64,000 question... they need their best gameplay, and play it to perfection, which basically means they need to play their best game of the season,period...

commentary...

i am very tired of pundits denigrating the Packers, this season... Kurt Warner, the former Cardinals' quarterback, basically gave the MVP to Cardinals' quarterback Carson Palmer, and gave the royal shaft to Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers... listen Kurt, numbers are basically the same between the two quarterbacks, and you give no props to Aaron Rodgers... you are a homer of the worst kind, and honestly, the Packers may not win the game, but Kurt,SHUT UP,AND GROW UP!!!! i have no respect for you, even when you were a quarterback, because you have a real big mouth,period... Kurt,do me a favor,SHUT UP!!!!

Packers/Cardinals game notes...

the Packers are 44-22-4 lifetime, against the Cardinals, and are 16-14-4,at Arizona... they won 31-17,in 2012(their last meeting,at Arizona)... however, those are just numbers, and the Packers will be facing a team,in the Cardinals, that rank in the top ten in both team offense, and team defense, while the Packers rank in the top five in team scoring defense, and are in range of being number one in the NFL,for this season... Carson Palmer is having a MVP season,David Johnson can run like a rabbit,Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald are receivers that are simply studs on offense... on defense, they have many players that are All-Pro caliber, one being Patrick Peterson... the Packers are not that explosive on offense, but they do have Aaron Rodgers,Eddie Lacy, and James Starks(a potentially lethal duo of running backs),but Lacy has been very inconsistent, and Starks has picked up much of the slack,in the running attack... too many drops have hampered the passing attack, but Rodgers, and Palmer have similar passing, and touchdown numbers for the season... at crucial times, the Packers have not done well, and that has given lower numbers(and scores)to the Packers' offense,so the outstanding scoring defensive numbers for the Packers' team defense have been overshadowed most of this season... interesting game,Sunday!!!!

blog statement...

i will preview the Packers/Arizona Cardinals game,tonight... sorry for the delay, but i do need a day to do more research, and get some more rest...

respect for Charles...

first of all,i deeply respect Charles Woodson, for his Hall of Fame caliber career, and without him, there is no Super Bowl XLV win for the Packers,period... as a shareholder/owner of the Packers,i will always have a deep soft spot for him,and honestly, the Packers made a deep mistake in letting him go in free agency in 2012,because he has proved them dead wrong...  i give him a deep respectful hat tip for his career... note:point blank,if he is not in the Hall of Fame,it will be a real shame, and crime...

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

blog statement...

i will be online only twice in the next three days... to preview the Packers/Cardinals game, and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,on Christmas Day...

Packers' historical trivia...

Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins did something this season that has not done for the Packers, since 1921... what is it??? answer:both rookies returned interceptions for a touchdown... it has been done only once before,in team history, when Nate Abrams, and Billy DuMoe returned interceptions for a touchdown,in 1921...

blog statement...

after previewing the Packers/Cardinals game, tomorrow(tonight,if possible)... i will take a break until after Christmas...

commentary...

i will preview the Packers/Arizona Cardinals game, starting tomorrow... note:the last time that Packers played the Cardinals(in the playoffs),in Arizona,in 2009,the Packers lost in overtime,51-45,when Arizona recovered a fumble by Aaron Rodgers, and returned it for a touchdown... a few plays before, the Packers missed a golden opportunity to win game, when the Packers' receiver dropped a sure touchdown pass on a bomb by Rodgers... second note:on the critical play,Rodgers got his head almost ripped off, when the Cardinals violently pulled down on his facemask, and then he fumbled the football... the referees absolutely missed that penalty(stupid referees),and let me tell you that it was very, very obvious, that it happened,folks... i still have a very hard time watching that play...

last night's NFC North division game...

Detroit Lions 35,New Orleans Saints 27... oops,i forget to post this last night...

a very sad anniversary...

today is a very sad anniversary for me... sixteen years ago,i last saw my soulmate in the hospital... because of a promise made to her,i gave her time to be with her family... unfortunately,no member of her family showed up,except for her son Michael, but i do not know this until her passing... i almost broke that promise on Christmas Eve,and again,on Christmas Day(a hour before she died),but my word is my word... the last message i got from her was a simple one,"Chris,I love you",at 2:15,that morning... i went to see her that morning, sixteen years ago,but she was seeing visions, and was incoherent... she asked me what she was seeing, and i simply told her that she was seeing angels... after a very short time,i left, grabbing a teddy bear(the teddy bear i gave her on first day that i saw her in hospital)on the way out the door... at that point,i was heartbroken and shattered... note:to tell you the truth,i still have not recovered, even sixteen years later... i go on with life, but the wound is still raw,if i really think about her...

quote of the week...

"We weren't very effective"-Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, when asked about the Packers' offense,in which Rodgers had a passer rating of 68.8(his eighth straight game with a passer rating of under 100)... note:that is butt ugly,folks...

commentary...

the game against the Oakland Raiders was butt ugly for the Packers... Aaron Rodgers had only one touchdown pass,to James Jones, but had many drops by his wide receivers, which is a recurring theme, this season... by the way,Jones had two offensive pass interference penalties called on him,one in which disallowed a Packers' touchdown... the team defense had two interceptions, one that was returned for a touchdown, and the other interception was returned to inside the five yard line, which set up an easy Packers' touchdown... the third down conversion rate is not where it should be,and the goal line running attack is basically non-existent,and that sucks... even Aaron Rodgers had a gaffe:with only 2:36 left, and a chance to end the game on the ground,he stupidly launched a pass toward the end zone, and the Raiders intercepted the pass at the Raiders' one yard line, but the team defense stiffened, and the Raiders were stopped on downs,to end the game... the Packers are 10-4,and in the playoffs in the NFC... note:the Packers have lost two games at the last second, won one memorable game, with an untimed play, and lost a third, while driving for a chance to tie game,at the last second... only the game at Denver, against the Broncos, was a blowout... i give the Carolina Panthers, and the Denver Broncos much credit, while i must say that DA BEARS,and the Detroit Lions got damn lucky to beat the Packers, because honestly, the Packers simply beat themselves,in those games,period... the record is 10-4,and the Packers are a 10-4 team, and i mean that in a good way... question:can the Packers make a run,in the NFC playoffs??? yes, they can,but honestly, they must play better than they did yesterday,period...

Sunday, December 20, 2015

commentary...

if you are a little disappointed in my earlier blogpost,do not be,because i will talk about the game, against the Raiders,tomorrow... with the way that Packers are winning this season(and losing this season),i just want to smile about the win,tonight... i deserve that...

Packers' game score,and comment...

Packers 30,Raiders 20... an ugly win is a win.... Packer Pride!!!!

beatdown of the week...

Minnesota Vikings 38,DA BEARS 17... DA BEARS REALLY SUCK... it was not even that close...

playoffs,YAY!!!!

because of the Carolina Panthers 38-35 win over the New York Giants, the Packers are assured of,at least,a wild card berth,in the NFC playoffs...

the Packers win,if...

both teams are a mirror image of each other... however, experience in having the better offense, and the better defense favor the Packers... the Raiders need the game much more than the Packers, because of playoff seeding... the Packers win,if they control time of possession, and convert on third down, along with limiting catches to Amari Cooper, and Michael Crabtree, while on team defense... if they do what they did to Dez Bryant(one catch:nine yards),last week,to either of them(especially Cooper),the Packers should win the game...

Packers/Raiders game notes...

the records of the Packers and Oakland Raiders favor the Packers, but honestly the Raiders have a great home field advantage,in the Black Hole, and both teams have an very good defense, and an intriguing offenses... we all know about two time MVP Aaron Rodgers, who has the lowest passing numbers in years, but he is capable of lighting teams up with performances that really boggle the mind(example-the 55-14 win over DA BEARS,on national television, last year,in which the halftime score was:Packers 42,DA BEARS 0),but folks,Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr has some of Rodgers' traits(like being mentally tough),and can shock many teams, like beating the Denver Broncos,15-12,in Denver, but the Raiders have been lukewarm in their team efforts this season, just as the Packers have been, but can both teams rise up and have a slugfest of a game??? can both teams stop the other team,on offense??? both are rhetorical questions... can the Raiders beat the Packers??? yes,but they need a couple turnovers, and critical stops,at critical times,on defense... can the Packers beat the Raiders??? yes,but they need to score early, and often... allow the Packers' defense to dictate how the Raiders play early,by stopping them with three and outs,early... both teams need to convert third downs to prolong drives... if either team dominates time of possession, the other team is in trouble... let me say this:do not forget the Black Hole,if close, they may make the difference, with critical delay of game penalties,or blown timeouts... interesting game,Sunday???

correction...

folks,it was 2:30 am when i was writing previous post, and it slipped my tired mind,at that time... i corrected it....

blog statement...

will preview Packers/Raiders game, today, after a trip to Snoozeville... need it badly...

thankful things...

i honestly started this post really unloading and venting my spleen, about this year... i honestly deleted that crap... sorry,folks...  it is Christmas, and i really do not feel joyous, and happy... i am finally losing weight(been over 200 pounds for over a year, and i have not felt well in the process)... my father was really surprised to learn that i was 225 pounds,at one time, and simply did not believe it... cracked a joke about being weighed on a truck scale,in the process... well,Dad,i have lost over 25 pounds, and will continue to do so... the last two months of this year has been a torturous road for all my family, and i honestly have felt miserable for my family... THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR:my dear stepmother is recovering in rehab, after hip surgery, and other complications... i am losing weight,finally... as for my family up in Redding,it is slowly getting better, because a family member died early last month... the grieving and mourning process is underway, and yet, some days are like the first day, after sweet Ben passed away,so we have to be patient with that situation... our tight family is right now split in two areas of the state, and it makes me upset... however, the Shaw-Stinson clan makes me very proud, because they are doing everything that they have to do... they may be unhappy about it,but they are all champions,in their own way,and i am very, very proud of every single one of them... it reminds me of the fifty four days that i spent with my dear soulmate, sixteen years ago,and i did the very same things that they are doing, and folks,it was painful for me,at the time of her passing,on Christmas Day,1999... i earned my merit badges that day, folks, and my family is earning theirs,at this time... in 1999,i walked two miles twice a day, being there in the early morning, shortly after she woke up,and spending up to twenty hours a day, doing things for her, going home for a little sleep, and a shower and then walk back... sometimes,i did not leave the hospital until after 1 am,walk back home, and then walk back at six in the morning... was always there,at about nine am,for her,and except for medication and bandaging her rear end(caused by severe bed sores),in the morning, and evening,i did everything else... i deeply respect my family for doing what they are doing, because i know that,in no way,is it easy... i must be thankful for a family that does what is absolutely necessary... Champions all!!!!

health update...

i have lost twenty five pounds, weigh less than 200 pounds(passed a milestone),and losing more... went to doctor early, and before my appointment for physical therapy, and was told that i have a soft tissue injury to the inside of left elbow, and have had physical therapy on my back today... i did walk about three miles yesterday, and will do some more walking tomorrow... i am very tired(woke up at 4:30 am),so i will take a nap later...

Thursday, December 17, 2015

commentary...

some people are idiotic, and moronic... i walked into a well known public restaurant,on Del Paso, just a hour ago,and was told that it was "closed",even though there were people at the counter... i was not dressed like a bum,and had walked about three miles, went to the bank, got cash, and wanted to eat there... well, folks,it did not go well for them, because i basically told where to stick it,in no uncertain terms... some business owners are basically stuck up people, who flaunt their business like they "own the world",and claim that they are open for business, and then when people want to eat there, they act like they want no business... i can understand that philosophy, but it is their loss, not mine, because i had money to spend there, and they were simply moronic, and idiotic... what a waste!!!

comments...

honestly,i am not in a very good mood, but i am physically just fine, just a little irritable... yeah, right!!!! need to do some things today, and not in the mood to do what i must do... i will be fine,folks... this is my "survival mode"...

comments...

right now,i am researching statistics for the Packers/Raiders game,Sunday afternoon,so stay tuned...

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

commentary...

the Raiders may have an inferior record to the Packers, but i always respect every team "we"*(being a shareholder/owner does have benefits*) play, and i know that the Raiders have a good young team, and are an up and coming team... no matter what people may believe,i truly do respect every team that the Packers play every team, every season... they honestly do have a real chance to beat the Packers, this week... they have a great young quarterback(best since Ken "the Snake" Stabler)in Derek Carr, they have a very fast running back(Latavius Murray),and a pair of wide receivers (Amari Cooper, and Michael Crabtree),who can "go get the rock",on a fly pattern... on defense, they have the best linebacker/defensive end they have had since Howie Long,in Kahlil Mack, and they have ol' man Raider(affectionately said),in Charles Woodson, who is helping a young secondary improve every game, and is having his best season, since 2010(the year of Super Bowl XLV),when he led the Packers' defense to glory... so do you believe that i do not have respect for the Raiders??? i really do have deep respect,period...

trivia...

who was a teammate of Packers' wide receiver Davante Adams at Fresno State??? answer:Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr...

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

historical note...

the 28-7 victory over the Cowboys was the Packers' 750th victory as a team...

commentary...

folks,it is not that i do not care about the Packers' opponents-the Oakland Raiders-this week... it is just some days that i want to relax, and not think about football for just a day... i will dissect the game starting tomorrow... bravado may say that the Packers should win game, but the Raiders do impress me,and do have chance to win, especially quarterback Derek Carr, wide receiver Amari Cooper linebacker Kahlil Mack, who had five sacks last week, and ol' man Raider, one Charles Woodson, who has intercepted a ton of passes(i believe, six passes),this season... i have watched my share of Raider games, this season, and i am impressed with the Raiders... do you think that i have already done some research on this game, already???

comments...

i will preview the Packers/Raiders game, starting tomorrow... note:because of division and NFC standings, the game between the Minnesota Vikings, and the Packers,in week seventeen, will be for the NFC North division crown, and the higher seeding,in the playoffs... folks,i told you that opening week of the season, because i know this division like a book... like i said earlier,if Green Bay wins game, there will be a rematch in the wild card playoffs, depending on seeding, and if Minnesota wins game(not a chance),depending on seeding, there may be a rematch in Minnesota, but honestly who knows???

Monday, December 14, 2015

breaking news...

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred did not reinstate,or lift the lifetime ban on Pete Rose...

commentary...

do you think that i,as a NFL OWNER,have a big chip on my shoulder, about the Packers and any criticism of the team??? YES I DO,but honestly i do not mind criticism of the team, but folks,it irritates me that pundits express stupid opinions about the team, when pundits may not have a clue on how football is played in the NFL... i do criticize them when they are not playing Packers' football... folks, they may be winning ugly most of the season, but they are winning... that is Packer Pride... note:it reminded of how the Packers used to win in the 1960's,when they basically won games,in ways to gut out wins, and simply said,"we do not lose,we just ran out of time"...

commentary...

i am very, very tired of the pundits denigrating the Packers... Yahoo Sports said that the Packers won ugly,yesterday... they won 28-7,not 16-13,like the Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins, last Monday night... hey, boys, you do not know ugly... what you wrote was insulting, and you have no clue on how to watch the game... winning by three points,in a meaningless Monday night game,is better than bulldozing a team by 21 points, and it really should have been more,boys... i am laughing at your stupidity,boys... UGLY??? HAH!!!!

commentary...

Packers up by a game, with tiebreaker in their pocket,in the NFC North, with the Minnesota Vikings... note:if both teams stay in the same playoff seeding,as of right now, they will play each other, twice in two weeks, once in week seventeen, and then in the next week,in the wild card round playoff game, both in Green Bay... Packers 9-4,Vikings 8-5,DA BEARS 5-8,and Lions 4-9...

Sunday, December 13, 2015

Packers' game score,and commentary...

Packers 28,Cowboys 7... when you ran,as a team, for 230 yards, and the other team had only one running back run for 111 yards (Darren McFadden),but everyone else did absolutely nothing... what happened,Dez??? one catch for nine yards, when the top defensive back(Sam Shields),for the Packers is being checked for a concussion... you talked a good game, and did not show up for the game... nice going,Dez,but honestly,no one on the Cowboys' team offense did not show up,except McFadden, who showed, when healthy, that he is a very, very good running back,period... note:that is my opinion,folks... as for the Packers, they showed that when they have everything working like a sports car,in peak form, they are a very tough team to beat... the Packers had more rushing yards than they had passing yards,so quarterback Aaron Rodgers' numbers are so so,had two touchdown passes, but when you have a great running attack, you can have so so passing numbers, and still win the game, like a bulldozer through a condemned house...

another good week...

it was another good week, when all the teams of the NFC North division lost, except the Packers... i am still smiling,folks...

slight correction...

i put the previous blog post under the caption,"play of the week"...

play of the week...

with 14:10 left in third period, and Pittsburgh up 16-7, Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback A.J. McCarron threw a lazy screen pass, and Steelers' safety William Gay stepped in front of the Bengals' receiver, and intercepted the pass and returned it for the touchdown... Steelers,23-7,on route to a 33-20 win over the Bengals...

NFC North division game scores...

St. Louis Rams 21,Detroit Lions 14... Washington Redskins 24,DA BEARS 21...

beatdowns of the week...

Carolina Panthers 38,Atlanta Falcons 0... Falcons never showed up... Panthers' team were doing a selfie at the 2 minute timeout... Jacksonville Jaguars 51,Indianapolis Colts 16... first time in team history that the Jaguars laid a 50-burger on an opponent...

the Packers win if...

simply, the Packers win,if they outscore the Cowboys... the simplest way to play... note:i do not care what the score is,but i want a home win...

Navy/Army...

Navy 21,Army 17... have a cousin in the Navy,so GO NAVY...

Cowboys/Packers game notes...

this is a tale of two teams:one is 8-4,and the other is 4-8,and yet,if you count out the Cowboys, you will be sadly mistaken... the Cowboys' defense is very good against the pass, and they can rush the passer, and if you count out Matt Cassel, you may be surprised, because he is a veteran "warhorse",who can get the job done... Cassel, one year, was 11-5 for Bill Belichick, and the New England Patriots, when Tom Brady was injured in the season opener for the Patriots(they missed the playoffs, even with a 11-5 season(tiebreakers decided it;odd season)... his recent record as a starter is not that good, but this is only one game, and the Packers have lost two straight games,at Lambeau Field(first time since 2008)... the Packers will be pissed about the two straight home losses, and the Cowboys still feel that Dez Bryant caught that unbelievable pass,on 4th and 2,at the Packers' half yard line,in that 26-21 playoff loss,at Lambeau Field... who comes out more upset, will have the edge early in the game, and if the Packers can score early,it will be very good for them, and if the Cowboys can keep the score low, they will have a chance to steal a critical game for both teams... interesting game,Sunday, isn't it???

blog statement...

be back later today, for the preview of Cowboys/Packers game,tomorrow... finally,it is time for the train to Snoozeville... it departs shortly... very tired...

a day to always remember...

i am listening to Siriusly Sinatra(SiriusXM Channel 71)right now,and they are having "Sinatra 100",a tribute to him,on his 100th birthday,as it is past midnight on the east coast... even Radio Classics has a eight hour tribute to him, later on in the day(tomorrow;west coast)... i am really missing one person really badly today, and that is my soulmate, who actually was a friend of "Ol' Blue Eyes",growing up... i am actually welling up in tears right now,so if i wipe my glasses, please forgive me... i am in pain still,it is getting better,so i had to get up,turned on the satellite radio, and am listening to a concert, from 1957,of Sinatra's... i forget where it was broadcasted from, but he mentioned that he had not been there in 22 years,at that time... i miss many people, every day, from my mother,to my UNC(uncle Bob),who are up in heaven giving me love by silently saying to me,"Great music,C. Ray",and to them,i dedicate this day... love you all...

commentary...

i have been in pain for the last two days... my left leg was basically numb all day,but i am fine now... i stood under my great shower head, and just concentrated the stream of water to my back, neck, and left leg,for about twenty minutes... it felt so so good,YAY!!!! even though,i still have pain,it has lessened to the point that i will sleep very well,tonight... note:previewing the Cowboys/Packers game will be tomorrow morning... sorry,folks...

commentary...

by the way, every other team in the NFC North, except the Packers, really suck!!!! even though,i deeply respect the teams,i have a "hatred" for DA BEARS,Minnesota Vikings, and the Detroit Lions, because i am a shareholder/owner of the Packers, and to me(when we play them),they are simply the enemy... i deeply respect every team that the Packers play every season, but i have a nastier edge when the Packers play the other teams in the NFC North division, period!!!! if you think that i am being cruel and mean about what i say about DA BEARS,Vikings, and Lions,i do not care about you think,at all... tough!!!! i am a NFL OWNER like Jerry Jones, and i am very proud of that fact...

blog statement...

i will preview the Cowboys/Packers game later on,tonight... note:i do have a lot of say about the game, but i have things to do,today...

NFC North division game score...

Arizona Cardinals 23,Minnesota Vikings 20... Vikings really do CHOKE.... LOVE IT!!!!

comments...

i have started my research for this week's game, against the Dallas Cowboys,at Lambeau Field, this Sunday... however,i am very tired, and will preview the game, starting tomorrow... one nugget from my research:the all time series is tied,at 16 games apiece, between the teams...

comments...

i am tired,so i am going to bed early,tonight... note:because of severe case of insomnia, did not get to bed, until six am,this morning...

plans for Saturday...

this Saturday would have been The Chairman of the Board's 100th birthday... Francis Albert Sinatra would have turned 100 years old... if you happen to come over here Saturday morning, you will be listening to Sinatra, most likely, because i am a very big fan of his music... it will be on SiriusXM radio, and i will be listening to it most of the day... i even have a very rare recording of a live Sands casino concert, which i will play,at least once...

playing craps is hard as a diamond...

the keys to be a professional craps player are these:1)look at the table for at least an hour before moving in to play at the craps table(that is for to get the rhythm of the players and see how the dice are rolling at that time)... 2)do not stay at the table or in the casino for more than two hours... 3)have a win limit(say 10% of your bankroll that day)... 4)have a loss limit(the same perimeters as step three)... increase both if need be... 5)do not drink alcohol at all... you spend more money if you do,and you can take that from a guy who knows that oh too well... alcohol clouds your head and then you are in deep manure... number 6 is a must:simply take the occasional whacking like a real man... i have walked out of many a casino flat broke, and that was before ten years "on the road",folks...

one of many stories of my life...

my soulmate was born in Kensington,Maryland,on May 13,1950,a Saturday... it is an very odd fact that every time,i listen to Stevie Wonder,i also think of her... the reason:they had the exact same birthday... i remember the time that we had a pillow fight... she was surprised by it,and i got mad and mule kicked(and broke)the fence, when we lived in Anaheim... why should i get mad at a pillow fight??? simply because she threw me out of the apartment into the cold after an argument... it was a month or so before she moved back to Sacramento,in July,1994... i moved back in October,1994,after a horrendous three months of summer that i spent in Orange County,alone... i was miserable and very sick at times during that time... i even picked up my mail at the Social Security office, once(they hated me)... how the mail got there,i never had an idea, but it did... another fact about that time:it was the last time, and the last day that my soulmate was in Orange County, that i got drunk... funny thing that i picked up my check at Social Security, expecting to go up to Sacramento, finally, but i got a letter from my soulmate telling me to call her friend in Wisconsin, instead of telling me about what was going on??? i already talked about that adventure earlier, but i got pissed and went to Las Vegas, instead, stayed in the biggest Motel 6 in the world, right near the Tropicana, for almost three weeks... funny thing is that i lived on my gambling winnings(food, and board),every day of those three weeks, and had exactly the same amount of cash, when i finally got tired of being there... unfortunately, for me,i finally got whacked out after three weeks of very hard work... stupid me... should have left earlier... for those who do not know, whacked out is the same as losing every dime... oh well,no one is perfect, but those three weeks is the longest time that i ever was a professional gambler... i do know one thing:i have the skills and game of a professional craps player... i am just very cautious about displaying them, because playing serious professional craps is as hard as a diamond, and that is no joke... that time alone that i spent in Orange County was simply the most miserable time in my entire life, and that is something to simply state, without a doubt... even now, thinking about that time makes me very, very sad... folks,i was miserable,period... now,it is time to board that train to Snoozeville...

quote of the week...

"in order to achieve anything, you must be brave enough to fail"-Kirk Douglas, who turns 99 years old,today...

comments...

i have said that the NFC North division crown will come down to week seventeen, when the Minnesota Vikings come to Titletown(Green Bay),to play the Packers... before then, the Packers have the easiest schedule of the two teams, but honestly,i thought we would sweep the Detroit Lions, and DA BEARS(and did not;that sucks),which i respect deeply, but have a distinct loathing for,period... THEY BOTH SUCK BIG TIME!!!!! i am a proud shareholder/owner of the Packers, and always will be... in fact, the next time they have a stock sale(if i am alive),i will buy more stock... personal note:remind myself to do in about ten years,or so... ha,ha,folks... (laughing)...

i will preview the Dallas Cowboys/Packers,starting tomorrow... note:i have been busy today, and just did not want to do blogging,yesterday... i am mentally very tired, will finish out this week, and take a few days off... looking forward to a small vacation,in early January,2016...

a smiling and nice week...

it has been a very good week for Packer Nation... all other teams in the NFC North LOST games, except the Packers... the Lions lost to the Packers on an untimed play(a 61 yard "Hail Mary"pass),after a face mask penalty,as time ran out,on the Lions... THANK YOU,Detroit... DA Bears literally choked on bear meat, losing to the 49ers,in overtime... nice going,DA BEARS... the Vikings got a big head being in first place, but then NEVER showed up to play the Seattle Seahawks, and got steamrolled... what happened,Adrian??? eighteen yards on eight carries... that is what happened...

NFL history...

an answer to a historical trivia question:what player first scored two points after a PAT block??? Stephone Anthony,of the New Orleans Saints became the first player to score two points after a blocked PAT,in NFL history...

NFC North division game score...

San Francisco 49ers 26,DA BEARS 20,overtime... DA BEARS choked in 4th quarter and overtime... way to go,DA BEARS... DA BEARS REALLY DO SUCK!!!! 1,2,and 3,people repeat,DA BEARS REALLY DO SUCK!!!!

beatdown of the week...

Seattle Seahawks 38,Minnesota Vikings 7... only a meaningless 101 yard kickoff return for a touchdown kept the Vikings from getting shut out,and at that time,it was 35-0,Seahawks... it was an embarrassing game for the Vikings, who honestly choked on their own newspaper clippings... way to go,CHOKERS!!!!

note on Eddie Lacy...

it appears that the Packers are losing patience with running back Eddie Lacy... the reason that Lacy had very few rushing yards, against the Detroit Lions, was a coach's decision, and team discipline... i believe that Lacy was pissed that the Packers cut one of his best friends(Alonzo Harris)on the team, last week...

comments,and trivia...

i have actually seen the "Hail Mary" game winning play,by the Packers about twenty times, and i am still smiling... here is a trivia question of NFL history:did you know that the "Hail Mary" game winning play is the longest "Hail Mary",in NFL history??? a 61 yard prayer, for the Packers...

a story about Starr and Lombardi...

the 1960's Packers had eleven Hall of Fame members,or so,but the most valuable Packer during the Lombardi era was quarterback Bart Starr... why do i say that??? simply because without him,Lombardi does not go anywhere, because Starr has told a story about Lombardi many times that signifies why he was the perfect fit for Lombardi... the story:Lombardi got pissed at Starr on the practice field once, and read him the riot act,and Starr went into his office, and told him that he could yell at him and give him guff, but not on the practice field, because of how he was perceived on field as a leader... how would he lead the team on the field if the players had no confidence in him to do the job??? he told him to do it in his office,if he had to do it,at all... he would take it there, but never on the practice field... Lombardi never said anything to him on the practice field, but give him respect, again

commentary...

folks,i honestly thought that i was seeing things at the end of the Packers/Lions game... i went absolutely nuts... i screamed and jumped in the air so many times that i just could believe what my eyes were seeing... after a month of total frustration, and simmering anger,i just exploded in utter, total, and absolute joy,on how the Packers beat the Lions,tonight... i have seen some heartbreaking losses by the Packers, like week three of the 2012 season(the "Fail Mary" game),and last year's NFC Championship game loss, both to the Seattle Seahawks... i have to say that this game ALMOST makes up for them all... i am still smiling,folks...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Packers 27,Lions 23... because of a facemask penalty,on the Lions,as time ran out,and an untimed play,Aaron Rodgers connected on a sixty one yard "Hail Mary" pass,to Richard Rodgers, and the Packers win,in a heartstopper...

comments...

i just walked about three miles in the rain... i have changed clothes, and now are warm....

the Packers win,if....

the game will come down to four factors:the play of Lions' defensive end Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah... if he rips the Packers' offensive line with many sacks of Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Lions will win,or be in a shootout with the Packers... secondly:the running attack of Eddie Lacy/James Starks, and the play of the special teams of the Packers, and thirdly, the play of Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the receiving duo of Calvin Johnson/Golden Tate, the play of Packers' wide receivers James Jones/Davante Adams, and finally, the play of both defensive backfields... whoever wins the turnover battle or gets the critical turnover will win the game...

Packers/Lions game notes...

the Packers need this game worse than the Detroit Lions, because of the situation in the NFC North, with the Minnesota Vikings,a game up on the Packers,in first place(for now)... the Lions would love to sweep the Packers,in both division games, for the first time, since 1991(before Brett Favre was quarterback),and put the Packers in a hole that would force them to fight for a playoff spot, and for any chance at the NFC North division crown... the Packers are an enigma:what team will show up,the team that has looked pathetic on offense,in four losses,or the team who won six games in a row,to start this season... i have no way to guess what is going to happen,tonight...

comments...

sorry,folks... i have not been a happy blogger in the last five weeks... like i said earlier,i really can not figure out the 2015 Green Bay Packers, and i have said most of the positive things about this team, and honestly have been let down, not by the scores of the games(win or lose),but by the way they have played, and i have been confused by this team,so i have said very little over the past six weeks...

commentary...

all the numbers favor the Packers, but with the way that the Packers have played over the last nineteen days(in that time span, they have played four games-unbelievable),anything could happen... the Lions are playing better, and did beat the Packers two games ago,in Green Bay,18-16,the vaunted Packers' team offense has sputtered to a grinding halt, and head coach Mike McCarthy said in an interview,"we are not getting it done in the classroom",and "we gotta do better on the little things"... so i do not know what to say... this Packers team is an enigma;one week the offense does well, and the next week, the defense breaks down,so i really have no idea what to say,or write,folks....

NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 20,Atlanta Falcons 10...

commentary...

it is as plain as the nose on their faces,as the old saying goes, for the Packers' offensive woes this season... the offensive team chemistry is affected by simply two factors:the youth of the receiving corps, and i really hate to admit that Aaron Rodgers is missing his "security blanket" in wide receiver Jordy Nelson... that would open up the passing game on the coverage on Randall Cobb, and Davante Adams.... mental and physical mistakes are, right now, sinking the Packers... losing two very, very winnable games at home, against the Detroit Lions, and DA BEARS does not help,period... however, before you get very morose, and gloomy, there is still a way for the Packers to win the NFC North division, even with Minnesota Vikings,in first place, right now... fact of the day:the last two years, the Packers did not clinch the NFC North, until week seventeen, when they beat DA BEARS,in 2013,and the Detroit Lions, last year... guess who the Packers play in week seventeen??? the Minnesota Vikings,in Green Bay,and the Packers have the tiebreaker by beating the Vikings,30-13,last week...however,honestly,the Packers may be very, very unlucky and they need to keep afloat,as they go on... the one thing that the Vikings have on their remaining schedule:teams' winning percentage of nearly .600,and the Packers have only one team on our remaining schedule, with a winning record, the Arizona Cardinals,so beat the teams that you need to beat, keep pace with the Vikings, and week seventeen in Green Bay will happen for the NFC North division,as it happened for the last two years, and the Packers will win the NFC North division, for the fifth straight year... sounds simple, doesn't it??? anything but simple,folks...

a story about my life...

i got up very early yesterday to get a new television remote from the cable company... i did,but the trip reminded of a bus trip that i took about twenty one years ago,on a Regional Transit bus... that day, twenty one years ago,i had athlete's foot so bad that it ripped off layers of skin off my feet... so i went to the hospital to get medication for it,got a prescription for an ointment, and proceeded to go to a pharmacy... well,i got on the bus,and the bus driver insulted, complained, and embarrassed me about the way that i looked, and also mentioned my feet... i then told him that i was sorry, but i was going to a pharmacy to get medication, even showing him the doctor's prescription... that shut him up,that day... that should have been the end of it,but it was not the end of the argument that i had with that scumbag... about a month later, after my feet healed up,i ran into him in a Carl's Jr,and he started in on me again,in front of the morning rush of the restaurant... this time,i was pissed... got the bus number, and time of the bus trip, and directly went to the Regional Transit office at 29th and N street... i talked to his supervisor, explained politely about the situation, noting that i may have been homeless, but i was a person, and that i was not going to take that crap from the scumbag of a driver... i said point blank that if the scumbag said another word to me,i would file a lawsuit against Regional Transit, and the scumbag driver(and i would want the scumbag fired),and i politely shook his hand, and left... well, actually, that was not quite the end... about three years later,i ran into the scumbag driver, again, and he said something to me again,so i sternly looked into his eyes, and said bluntly to him,"that is not acceptable",and he finally got the point,so i sat down,smiling...

blog statement...

i will talk about DA BEARS' game with the Packers more next week...

commentary...

i have noticed something in both teams that i root for,on a regular basis... first the Red Wings, since they are playing the Edmonton Oilers,as i type this... the Red Wings are playing good hockey, overall, but they have the same problem as the Packers have right now the exact same problem,folks... both teams are playing to the level of their opponents... the Red Wings are 3-0-2 in the last five games... a good record,no doubt, but looking deeper, into those two overtime/shootout losses indicate that they are making mistakes, lapses that cost them points at critical times,in wins and losses... the Packers have lost four of their last five games, but honestly, they have missed chances to beat the Detroit Lions, and DA BEARS last night, and made unfortunate mistakes at the very end of games that last year that they would won,and they may be the unluckiest team in the NFL,right now... even going back to the Carolina Panthers' game,at Carolina, the Packers were down 37-14,after the third period, but scored two touchdowns, and got a critical interception with about three minutes to play in Panther territory, and the Packers drove it to 4th and goal(remember that, folks, from last night),and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, instead of hitting a wide open Randall Cobb,he popped up a lame duck interception to lose the game,37-29... two weeks ago, they recovered an onsides kick, that actually bounced off Calvin Johnson(remember Seattle, last year)...  they missed a makable 52 yard field goal,by Mason Crosby, when the football was blocked partially by the holder, punter Tim Masthay,on a fluke, and lose 18-16,to the Lions, and last night, they allowed DA BEARS TO HANG AROUND,and they make four mistakes,a fumble by Eddie Lacy in Packer territory, and that was turned into their first touchdown,to tie the game,at seven, and then Rodgers threw an interception on the drive before the last drive, and that was deep in DA BEARS territory, and then the last TWO plays(third and goal, and fourth and goal),of the Packers' night... two dropped touchdown passes, one drop by James Jones,on third and goal, and then the game killer,a drop by Davante Adams,on fourth and goal, and a 17-13 loss to DA BEARS...

Packers' game score...

DA BEARS 17,Packers 13... commentary,tomorrow...

comments and NFL,and Packers' trivia...

as i am listening to Brett Favre's jersey retirement and circle of honor enshrinement in the north end zone,Bart Starr came out on a gold cart, they hugged twice... trivia question:what quarterback has won the most NFL championships??? answer:number 15,the great Bart Starr...

beatdown of the week...

Detroit Lions 45,Philadelphia Eagles 14... any team who gives up thirty eight straight points deserves the dubious distinction of "beatdown of the week"...

the Packers win if...

the Packers win if they make DA BEARS' quarterback Jay Cutler beat them, and they(the team defense)stop the running attack of DA BEARS... Aaron Rodgers and company need to start fast, and score early, and often(like the Chicago voting machine "vote early and do it often")... sorry,Cook County,Illinois... NOT!!!! had to make someone laugh...

comments...

since this is Thanksgiving,i want to be very, very thankful for one thing... my dear stepmother is getting much better, and i have been very worried about her all month... that is a very great thing in a terrible month,overall...

comments...

because of a "dead"(non-working)remote,i will be watching absolutely no football today... i will listen to the games on SiriusXM... this month is absolutely one of the worst months of my entire life... only third behind December,1999,and February,2008,because of things that happened in those months... family and friends know what i am talking about... one good thing is December can not be this bad,can it??? note:the remote went non-working early this morning, and i have tried new batteries, and it did not work,folks... i will grab a new remote tomorrow

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

DA BEARS/Packers game notes...

the four NFC North division games that the Packers will be in a span of nineteen days... if the Packers win tomorrow, they will tie the all-time series with DA BEARS at 93-93-6,including a 1-1 playoff record... this is the third straight year that the teams have played in November, and this is the first Thanksgiving day game,at Green Bay,since 1923... DA BEARS' quarterback Jay Cutler is 0-4,lifetime,against the Packers,at Lambeau Field, and the Packers have scored at least 31 points in the last four games, against DA BEARS,and head coach Mike McCarthy is 14-6,against DA BEARS,and the team has scored at least 20 points in thirteen of the fourteen wins(only exception is week seventeen of the 2010 season,in which the Packers won 10-7,to make the playoffs, that year)... note:next week's game, against the Detroit Lions, will also be on Thursday(first time since week 12-13,of the 2007 season, when they played the Lions, and then the Dallas Cowboys)... personal note:REVENGE!!!! but that is next week...

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

play of the week...

beginning of the 4th quarter:Packers up 19-13,Packers on Vikings' 27 yard line,Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers rolled out to his right, fired a rocket pass to wide receiver James Jones near the sideline,in the end zone,a tapping of both feet inbounds... TOUCHDOWN,PACKERS!!!  a lob of a pass later on the two point conversion... PACKERS,27-13,basically,game over!!!!!

blog statement...

there will be new segment on my blog named,"the play of the week"... note:i will try to incorporate the entire NFL...

Monday, November 23, 2015

comments on DA BEARS/Packers game...

if the Packers beats DA BEARS,on Thursday night, the all time series will be tied, between the teams... note:i will preview the game tomorrow, and Wednesday, for Thanksgiving night's(Thursday) game...

simple statement...

finally,a statement game by the Packers... that is Packer Pride!!!!

Packers' game score,and comment...

Packers 30,Vikings 13... defense limited Adrian Peterson to a total of forty five rushing yards, and sacked Teddy Bridgewater six times... that is Packer Pride...

a day that changed history, fifty two years ago...

President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated at 12:30,central time,on November 22,1963,52 years ago,today... question:wonder what would have happened if Kennedy had lived??? hat tip to a great president, and gratitude to his service...

beatdown of the week...

Carolina Panthers 44,Washington Redskins 16... was 14-14,after one period, then the Panthers bulldozed with 30 straight points... Redskins got a meaningless safety, with the Panthers' punter walked out of the end zone, with seconds left in game...

NFC North division scores...

Detroit Lions 18,Oakland Raiders 13... Denver Broncos 17,DA BEARS 15... note:both teams really suck, but DA BEARS REALLY SUCK!!!!

the Packers win,if...

the Packers win,if they stop Adrian Peterson from rushing for 150+ yards, and force Teddy Bridgewater to beat you... the Packers win,if they play Packers' football, and they have not done so,in three weeks... simply said, show Packer Pride, and play Packers' football... note:i have refused to watch much NFL Network,or anything else this week, because simply said,i am so pissed that i do not care what pundits,or anybody else think, care about their opinions, and that is simply fact...

Saturday, November 21, 2015

quote of the week...

as tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the Undertaker in the WWE:the quote of the week came from the late great Roddy Piper, who said,as the Undertaker walked the ramp for the very first time,at the 1990 Survivor Series,in Hartford,Connecticut,"HEY,LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT HAM HOCK"...

breaking NFL news...

San Francisco 49ers have placed quarterback Colin Kaepernick on injured reserve, and is done for the rest of the season... he will have season ending surgery on his non-throwing shoulder... he signed a team-friendly contract(in which the team can walk out of,every season,of the deal),in 2014,so his $13.9 million dollar contract is not guaranteed until April 1st,2016... there is a possibility that we,as fans, have seen the last of him in a 49ers' uniform...

to my family....

folks,to tell you the absolute truth,i am very tired physically, mentally, and every other way that you can think of... i have been worried about all of my family members, and they are getting better slowly, but surely, and up in Redding, that group of family members will be fine, honestly, that will take time, but there will always a place with a missing member, but he will be remembered, with laughs and tears,if need be... maybe, that has worn me out,as i see it,and i will feel better,too... i love every family member, even though sometimes they can get on the nerves,if you know what i mean... i am going to take it easy for a few days, but i will be better...

commentary...

i am getting tired of the pundits hyping the Packers' opponents every week, including the Minnesota Vikings, this week... forget the numbers... it will be a total slugfest, for the NFC North division lead,in Minnesota... i understand that the Packers are struggling, losing three games in a row, even though Murphy's Law had something to do with last week's loss to the Detroit Lions, which may be the low point of this season... what pisses me off is the simple fact that every pundit may believe that the Packers are done, and one pundit suggested that Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is now "unfixable",and that the Packers' receiving corps is "slow" compared to other teams... that is bull manure,folks... simply said, the pundits can shove it where the sun does not shine, and to those fair weather fans of the Packers, who only cheer when the team is good, they can kiss my backside royally, both sides,folks... i am a true fan,and a proud shareholder/owner of the Packers, and to everybody who is a true fan,and shareholder/owner,hold on,folks,it will be a bumpy ride... whether they win or lose,Sunday,it will be Packers' football, because simply said, the Packers' entire team may want to shut up everybody... it is about time, folks,to show Packer Pride!!!

commentary...

i am just waking up,and everything hurts,as in i have broken a bone in every limb, and many surgeries,so it really takes a few hours to feel normal(ha ha)... i have never been normal, and i have always been a little off, folks,if anyone who knows me will attest... isn't that true, folks??? (laughing)...

Packers/Vikings game notes...

Packers lead all-time series against the Minnesota Vikings,58-49-2,including 1-1,in playoff meetings... eighteen of the last twenty six games have been decided by seven points or less, and the Packers are 9-1-1,in the last eleven games, including winning four of the last five games,in Minnesota...

Thursday, November 19, 2015

notes on the day...

will be on here later... have a slight headache, but took aspirin so i will be all right,shortly... will preview the Packers/Vikings game,today... note:lately, the Packers have not played well, but it should change some time soon... cross your fingers!!!!

Cubs fans,rejoice...

for you Cubs fans,Jake Arrieta won the NL Cy Young Award,in 2015,won 22 games,and in the last twelve regular season starts that he pitched,he was 11-0,with a 0.41 ERA,over 88 1/3 innings... he had 1.77 ERA,over 229 innings,four complete games,and a no-hitter over the Los Angeles Dodgers,in August...

comments on the recent Packers' misfortunes...

simply,i deeply respect the Minnesota Vikings(do not like then one bit-NFC North division foe,as you know;"hate" them,actually)... they will be tough to beat at home, this week, but honestly, the Packers do have more firepower, and if the team plays defense like they did against the Detroit Lions, the Packers SHOULD win... however,i noticed a slight shaking of the team's confidence,in losing to the Lions... let me clarify that for you, folks:every small thing that has gone wrong lately, and Murphy's law has taken effect, right now,and Aaron Rodgers appears to be jumping slightly at every preconceived jolt, like the last scoring plays, first against Carolina(4th and goal),and he popped up with a damn duck of a pass(intercepted by the Panthers),while missing a wide open Randall Cobb in the end zone... there is video of him tossing the laptop used to review plays, after seeing the play, and against the Lions,he threw a two point conversion pass to Davante Adams, that if he would have led him a little more, like two more feet, the game would have tied at 18... honestly,he has thrown that pass to Adams(or to any receiver) probably 1,000 times, and i have seen it completed before easily... finally, the Packers lost Sunday, because the free hand of Tim Masthay, who was the holder for Mason Crosby deflected the football off, before the football had a chance to go anywhere... that is Murphy's Law,folks!!!!

a day of idiotic and moronic things happening...

has been a stupidly wild day,today... woke up,sat down to watch television, and remote was sticking(and not working),so i unplugged everything,to see if that worked... it worked on the television, but computer, and home landline(phone)was screwed up... called cable company;they told me to call Apple, and after 25 minutes on phone, they gave some troubleshooting tips to turn on computer... the computer took about three minutes to click on to my passcode page, then finally, about a hour later,my landline(phone)came up to snuff... i went out for a walk, went about a mile and a half, and felt tightness,in left calf, and soreness in right ankle/foot(sprained it yesterday),so i stopped, and took bus home... what a morning!!!! note:i do not push it at all, when exercising,folks...

i am taking off a couple days, need rest, but i am sorry for the lack of blogging, especially last week, because i honestly have not wanted to do this, and i was busy... note:doc says that nothing is seriously wrong, but she recommends 81 mg aspirin for me to take... the fatigue is due to exercising every day, which is very good for me...

comments...

the Packers can not get a break,lately... there is a report that the reason Mason Crosby flubbed the 52 yard field goal, yesterday was that it was blocked, not by the Lions, but by the free hand of the holder Tim Masthay... i happen to believe that, simply because the football was such a dead duck of a kick, and it never got 25 feet off the ground and landed about 25 yards short... what stinking luck!!!!

NFC North division games...

Minnesota Vikings 30,Oakland Raiders 14... DA BEARS 37,St. Louis Rams 13...

beatdown of the week...

Washington Redskins 47,New Orleans Saints 14... bulldozed by the Redskins, the Saints deserve the dubious distinction of the week....

comments on being a shareholder/owner...

even though the Packers have lost three straight games,i am a proud shareholder/owner of the team you have to give credit to the teams that beat the Packers, and shake off the dread that you may feel.. folks,i will wear the Green and Gold so proudly, because it may be a season to remember, good or bad,but folks,i am a proud shareholder and that is what matters to me,not the scores of the last three games, which have sucked,no doubt, but even though the Minnesota Vikings lead the NFC North,by a game, the Packers play them next week,in Minnesota,so the game that really matters is next week, but honestly,i bleed Packer Green and Gold,no matter what, and i am very proud to do so,folks...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Detroit Lions 18,Packers 16... hat tip to the Lions for breaking a twenty four year losing streak in the state of Wisconsin... i say that with humility, and class... Mason Crosby flubbed a 52 yard field goal,in last minute... it appeared to go off the side of his foot,on the replay... Packers just can not get a break,lately... a very good game... note:i am a true fan of NFL football, and i just have to give the Lions props for an one very good slugfest,of a game...

cheapskates in Carolina...

Carolina Panthers' defensive end Charles Johnson has been on injured reserve, and amazingly,he had to buy his own ticket to the Panthers/Tennessee Titans game,today... he will be back at practice, this week... what cheapskates they are in Carolina!!!!

Packers' trivia...

today, this is the first time that the Packers have not scored a touchdown in the first half, with Aaron Rodgers under center,in an amazing 35 games...

commentary...

all the pundits are picking the Packers over the Detroit Lions,at Lambeau Field,tomorrow... even though,i do not like the pundits,i happen to agree, but honestly, the game is a NFC North division game,so watch out,Packers... never overlook the NFC North division teams against each other, because it will be a slugfest... the 1-7 Lions are trying to say that the season starts tomorrow,at 0-0,to hype themselves into a good game, but folks, they are facing a very frustrated, pissed off, chip on their shoulders, team in the Packers, and unfortunately for the Lions, the entire team is getting healthy at the right time, and with a pissed off Aaron Rodgers, and company, the Lions may be in deep doggy manure, because the Packers' team offense are due for a big game, and unfortunately, the Lions are in the way... the Packers are not as bad a team as they have shown in the last two weeks, and unfortunately, the Lions are just a bad team, and even though, this is a NFC North division game, the Packers are raring to put a butt whipping on some team right now,and unfortunately, the Lions are ready to be roadkill, right now... the Packers are not overlooking the Lions, neither am i,but they are tired of the butt of a bad joke, right now,and so am i...

a day of remembrance...

i went to bed at 7:30 last night, slept most of the last seven hours... listening to SiriusXM,and some Frank Sinatra... strangely,Siriusly Sinatra is playing one of my box sets(Frank Sinatra:Live at the Sands),which was done during his "Rat Pack" days,in which he and the group would show up at the Sands, and play until early in the morning(about 5 am)... in fact,he mentions them during the set,and then introduced his band... sometimes, truly wish i could have born about ten years earlier, because i would have loved to hear Sinatra,live... a story from my time in Las Vegas:i remember walking into the lobby of the Sands, and just thinking about all of the history that happened there... i actually welled up with tears, and i was watching on local television,in Las Vegas,as they imploded the hotel... a very sad hallmark of history... thank you,Mamish, for the music education, because i enjoy all kinds of music, and it is all because of you... i miss her every time i listen to music... i guess it is time to go back to bed for a few more hours...

blog statement...

first of all,i will preview the Detroit Lions/Packers game,today,sometime,folks... been very busy and somewhat worried about family, this week, but things are better,so back to blogging, today, and very soon... will be ramped up normally this week...

what a day!!! got myself up at 2:30 am... had a 8:15 am appointment for a MRI... got done shortly before ten am,so tonight,i will be dead to world,as in asleep... spent over a half hour in the tube of the MRI,so i am going to be sleeping like a rock,tonight... tell me tomorrow,if an atomic bomb goes off(laughing)... i will say,"what a beautiful mushroom cloud!!!",and go back to bed... notes:thought you needed a chuckle,folks...

commentary...

when the game ended yesterday,i was very, very angry, but after some good sleep, and thinking about the game,i am calmer... there are calls for everyone to be fired... you look at 37 points given up,yesterday, and 33,on average, over the last two games,on team defense, and you feel like the roof is collapsing on the Packers' 2015-2016 season... those are two bad losses,no doubt, but the first goal of this season is still in sight, with four division games in a row-win them all,or three of four, and you still control the NFC North division, which the Packers have won four years straight... the only thing they can not control is the top seed in the NFC(playoff seeding),with the Carolina loss, with a three game bulge to overtake the Panthers(they own tiebreaker),so for now forget that, and get back to playing Packers' football... now for the game, yesterday,it looks like the Packers' defense needs help, and they were gashed like a fisherman gutting a fish the last two weeks, and they have been, and there is nothing to be happy about the last two games, because the Packers' entire team have not played well for weeks(not scoring 30+ points, since week three),and you can blame injuries, and not having Jordy Nelson,on the roster, but honestly,i am very tired of hearing of that, week after week... who honestly cares??? it is only an excuse, and stop making excuses, because it is stale, and monotonous in telling everyone that the Packers are not the same team that they were, last season... no kidding??? however, except for Jordy Nelson, this team is basically the same that lost in the NFC Championship,to the Seattle Seahawks,so they just have been not playing well, this season... the defensive backfield is talented, but very young, and in the last three weeks(excluding the bye),they have faced Philip Rivers,Peyton Manning, and Cam Newton, and some pinpoint passing,it looks like your team defense really sucks... as for Aaron Rodgers, and company, the last two weeks they have faced top tier defenses, and the nagging fact that they are missing Jordy Nelson comes into focus, but the fact that the receiving corps has not kept up with Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers has not played up to his usual MVP self, along with some coaching failures, and bad team play at critical times makes the Packers' entire team look like they are not the same team they were, last season... now,it is time to play Packers' football, take care of business in the NFC North, and then worry about the playoffs,at that time... if they do not take care of business,in the next four weeks, they will not have to worry about the playoffs... final thought:stop reading your newspaper clippings, act like an underdog the rest of the season, have the big collective chip on your shoulders, and play Packers' football... come on,fellows, play the best that you can,and i will be happy with the season...

commentary...

wins or losses do not bother me much,honestly... let me clarify that, for one thing:winning or losing is part of the game... what really bothers me is that it is the way the Packers play the game that is most important to me... the Packers have not scored 30+ points, since week three, and the Packers' team defense has given up 33 points/a game,in the last two games, against Denver, and Carolina, and that is the reason why i am upset... that is not Packers' football... now, there is no room for error, because in the next four weeks, the Packers play the Detroit Lions(home),the Minnesota Vikings(road),DA BEARS(home),and the Lions(road),again... now, ladies,it is time to man up,and play Packers' football,PERIOD...

commentary...

i have turned off television, and am trying to relax;listening to some great blues music in SiriusXM B.B. King's Bluesville... i will not talk about NFL football,or NHL hockey, tonight, because i am so burnt out from it that i look like a "mental blackened match",right now,but tomorrow morning, the fangs will come out,as i rightly criticize the Packers' team effort... i am a tired cobra right now... after the last two weeks,i am rather pissed off about a lot of things, and most of them have nothing to do with the Packers,NFL football,or NHL hockey... they are of a personal nature, and honestly,i am in no mood to talk to anyone, but my family, and they are paramount on my mind, right now... see you tomorrow,folks...

Packers' game score...

Carolina Panthers 37,Packers 29... rally falls short... interception of Aaron Rodgers on fourth and goal, with 1:54 left in game, decided game... note:rather disgusted!!!! what defense???

NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 21,St. Louis Rams 18...

the Packers win,if...

everyone whose is a pundit may believe that the Panthers have a chance to win,but to tell you the truth, this game is much more critical to the Packers' playoff chances than to the Panthers, because if the Packers lose, they will be two games behind the Panthers, and the Panthers having the tiebreaker,by beating the Packers... the keys to the game,is keeping Cam Newton controlled in the pocket because he is a 54% passer, with a mid 70's passer rating, but as a running quarterback,he is averaging 4.5 yards per running attempt... the keys for the Packers are three fold:convert third down(less than 33% the last four games, with a rock bottom of 28%,last week),open up passing attack with a heavy dose of a combination of running and passing, and get more deeply into the Packers' playbook... keeping Cam Newton off the field, and converting on third down will give a chance to win...

Packers/Panthers game notes...

last season's game between the Packers and the Panthers was:Packers 38,Panthers 17... like Aaron Rodgers said this week, the difference between this season's game, and this season's game is the vast improvement of the Panthers' team defense, and i happen to agree, and both teams have won games this season very ugly... Cam Newton is a much improved quarterback with maturity, and both teams'  running attacks can be explosive... however, the difference in the Packers this season is that the team offense is not explosive as in past years, but it(the game)will come down to whose offense can be slowed down to a pedestrian level,as the Packers were, last week, because both defenses WILL be ready to dominate,if at all possible... the keys to the game will what team is the one that has a better running attack, and possession of the football, keeping the other team off the field... the Panthers are favored,no doubt, but anything can happen... interesting game, tomorrow, isn't it???

commentary...

the Panthers are a very good team... if both teams play at their best, the Packers have the offensive edge, but honestly, the way that the Packers have played offensively the last four games, they are not simply 100% on offense, and last week, they hit rock bottom, with a performance that left them angry, frustrated, and simply humiliated... on defense, the Packers were gashed like a fisherman gutting a fish, last week... right now, honestly, the Packers entire team is an enigma, because what team is going to show up??? the one that got humiliated by the Denver Broncos,or the one that won six straight games to start the season... odds are that the team that won six straight games will show up,but honestly, very pissed, very frustrated, and very humiliated,by what happened last week,in Denver, and ready to take out their season long frustrations out on the Carolina Panthers... whether they win or lose, they will come out ready to play like a four time Super Bowl champion...

twenty nine lives remembered...

forty years ago,on November 10,1975,the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank off Whitefish Point,Michigan... it still is the biggest ore freighter to sink in the Great Lakes... twenty nine mariners lost their lives... to those twenty nine, and with deep respect,i give a deep hat tip...

blog statement...

the game notes on the Packers/Carolina Panthers game, and "the Packers win if...." will be posted tonight... let me calm down some, and get back to blogging...

commentary...

now,i do have something to say!!!! i am rather pissed about the pundits denigrating the Packers' chances this week, against the Panthers... i am pissed off, because whenever i turn on NFL Network,i hear about last week's game, against the Broncos, and the Packers' offensive woes(if being 6-1 is having offensive woes???)... first of all, every team has a bad game in a season, whether they win or lose the game... the final straw for me in this barrage of denigrating the Packers was during college football coverage, some moron at ESPN decided to slip in a segment on how the Packers' team offense sucks... i can understand the segment on NFL coverage... i expect it,but not after talking about the Florida Gators!!!! i turned off the television, and exploded with anger, because i find it absolutely insulting to the Packers, their fans, and shareholders/owners,and to NFL football,in general... could not believe it!!!! shame on you,pundits...

commentary...

Seattle Seahawks' wide receiver Ricardo Lockette, who was hurt during a punt return in last Sunday's game has had surgery on his neck tendons and discs, and has been released from the hospital... even though,i am not a Seahawks' fan,i hope and pray that he recovers as much as he can,and gets on with a productive life... a deep bow and hat tip out of respect...

"we're not pushing the panic button... one win does not make a season, and one loss does not lose it"... who said that and when??? if you believe that head coach Mike McCarthy,or Aaron Rodgers said that this week, you would be dead wrong, but one Packers' head coach did say that... answer:the late great Vince Lombardi said that fifty years ago,today... remember that,if you get down...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Broncos 29,Packers 10... simply,Denver dominated, and the Packers STUNK up the joint... have to give a hat tip to a great game plan by Denver, and simply they came to play, and the Packers got humiliated by their putrid effort... my opinion:you have to be humble, when things go awry, and give respect to the better team... simply put,folks...

wild game in the Big Easy...

New Orleans Saints 52,New York Giants 49... Drew Brees,of the Saints, tied NFL record for touchdown passes, with seven touchdown passes, and Eli Manning,of the Giants, had six touchdown passes...  Giants also scored on an interception returned for a touchdown(a pick six)...

NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 23,DA BEARS 20... DA BEARS CHOKE!!!! DA BEARS STILL SUCK!!!

beatdown of the week...

Kansas City Chiefs 45,Detroit Lions 10... in London, what team went off to a 3-0 lead, and then got hammered with 38 straight points??? answer: the Detroit Lions... they deserve the dubious distinction of the beatdown of the week... the game is not even close... CHOKE LIONS CHOKE!!!!

the Packers win,if...

the Packers' series all-time with the Broncos is 6-6-1,with the Broncos winning Super Bowl XXXII,31-24,over the Packers... both teams have six Lombardi Trophies, combined(Packers four,Broncos two)... they are two of the teams who have won back to back Super Bowls(Packers won the first two,and the Broncos won Super Bowls XXXII,and XXXIII,over the Atlanta Falcons)... like i told earlier, the Packers lead the NFL,in scoring defense(16.8 points/per game),but folks, the Broncos are tied for second in the NFL(17.0 points/per game)... these teams are mirror images of each other, except for one thing:the Packers have slightly more firepower, but honestly,i would not count out Peyton Manning, but again,he has struggled this season putting the Broncos' offense into the end zone... earlier this season, the Broncos' offense did not score a touchdown in seventeen straight drives... literally, the Broncos' defense actually won two games, when they forced Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs,to fumble the football,in week two,and ran it back for a touchdown,in the final seconds of game,to win game,31-24(the Broncos scored two touchdowns in about thirty seconds),and they beat the Minnesota Vikings,19-13,with an interception return for a touchdown(the Broncos' offense did not score a touchdown;they had four field goals, that game)... the Broncos' defense have thirteen interceptions, and the Packers' defense have nine interceptions... the Broncos' defense have twenty six sacks, and the Packers' defense have twenty three sacks... the Packers win,if the defense can slow down the Broncos, and score first and early... the Broncos win if their defense can rattle Aaron Rodgers into mistakes, and can score on a short field a couple of times... interesting statistics, and game,Sunday night???

blog statement...

i need sleep, and will finish my preview of Packers/Broncos Sunday Night Football game,tonight...

Packers/Broncos game notes...

the game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football is two undefeated teams facing each other... honestly, how they are is simply because of the number one total defense in the NFL...  the Packers lead the NFL in scoring defense(16.8 points/per game)... Peyton Manning has not been his usual self, since week nine of last season...  the pundits are hyping the Broncos big time, because they believe they can sack Aaron Rodgers all night... they lead the NFL with 26 sacks(the Packers have 23 sacks,so far, this season),and they denigrate the Packers' defense, because the 548 total yards given up by the Packers, against the San Diego Chargers... however, when San Diego passed on almost every play, for the last twenty three minutes of game play,so you get numbers like that, against any defense... i admit that the numbers look very ugly, but if you allow sixty five passes,in eighty nine plays, any team are going to be torched... so,folks, the Packers' defense is actually much better than people may realize... interesting game,Sunday night???

blog statement...

i will talk about the Denver Broncos/Packers game,tonight...  since the game is Sunday Night Football this week,i have delayed game notes, and "the Packers win,if...",one or two days, and i am sorry folks...

final punching of life's ticket...

tonight,a dark shadow casted its pall on this family... we lost a sweet person to the final punching to life's ticket... i honestly have been through this "passing on" five different times... every time does not get any easier... we say that the person is "in a better place",and they are, meaning they are not in any pain anymore... however, the people left behind are more heartbroken than people can imagine, because they loved them more than life itself... how do they cope with the heartbreak, and the ache that goes along with it??? if i knew that,i would not be still heartbroken after the five sweet souls punched their final ticket to life, and i am still heartbroken over every single sweet soul that i deeply miss to this day... here is a simple answer to it:you hold on tight to the hurting person, let them mourn, and remind them that your shoulder is bigger than anything that they can imagine, because there will be a time, when they will laugh, and that is important that they know that it will be always there... at that time,we shall remember the good times of their life, and how they shall be always in our hearts... now,it is time to close ranks inside our family, and hold on,folks, because it will be a bumpy ride... to that sweet soul,we shall miss you until we see you again, because their remembrance is still in our hearts every day... every hour... every minute... every second... until then...

a sad and lousy night...

i am not in a great mood tonight... just found out about a family tragedy tonight,so i am going to be very sad,and by myself, except Sunday morning, when my father comes for coffee,at Starbucks... what a lousy day,and days to come... i wish that i could hug my sister-in-law right now, because she really needs it... note:i am taking tomorrow off,and talk about the Packers/Denver Broncos game,on Friday...

Packers' schedule...

the next two weeks the Packers will play the Denver Broncos, and the Carolina Panthers... both undefeated,as are the Packers... both games are on the road!!!! a tough road to hoe...

a act with true class...

when 93 year old Louise Edlen(the grandma in the window, they called her)had a stroke earlier this month,in Arlington,Washington, students who she waved to every day sent well wishes and cards to her... when she got home from the hospital,Bus number seven that went by her house was decked out with a "WELCOME HOME" sign(every window had a letter attached to it),and students waved back to her,as they went by her house... a true class act...

being grateful...

when three homeless veterans died recently,in Detroit, they got respect and dignity from a unlikely source:six high school students from University of Detroit Jesuit High School... five seniors and junior were pallbearers at their funerals...what true class!!! a great hat tip and deepest respect to the veterans, and to the student pallbearers...

back to childhood,if you remember...

i guess this is a day going back to childhood, where we saw Ed Sullivan(Mary Tyler Moore, and Carol Burnett, too)every weekend, and kept the television off, until night time... sometimes,i miss those days...

correction...

i am sometimes braindead!!! i corrected two minor mistakes on the previous post... sorry,folks... note:i have had a migraine all morning...

bad teams 101...

how bad are the Houston Texans, and the Detroit Lions??? during the game with the Miami Dolphins,in which they lost 44-26,the Dolphins had 35 points,in the second quarter(led 41-0.at half),and the Texans had zero offensive yards,at that time, and they released their backup quarterback, for missing team flight,to Miami, for supposedly being stuck in traffic(a very lame excuse)... the Lions led the San Diego Chargers 21-3,in first half,of opening week, and lost 33-28,and they have never recovered,since... they are 1-6,and they fired three offensive coaches,today...

comments on the Packers...

comments from the Packers' players mean that they are getting healthier(if you can get healthier, during NFL football season???)... Davante Adams and the injured should play Sunday, against the Denver Broncos... if so,WATCH OUT,NFL... note:i happen to "love" the unique hair style of Adams... just wild, folks!!!!

a taste of music that is very strange...

my taste of music is various... i have listened to Frank Sinatra,40's music, early 70's music,Miles Davis, and his great trumpet, various country music artists, and some classical music this week... i listen to a satellite channel devoted to the late great George Carlin... i am listening to the great Fats Waller banging on the piano, and i am tapping on the desk, smiling, and just chair dancing... i really do not know where,or how i got this odd, weird taste in music... on my SiriusXM satellite radio, you may never know what will be on at any time... right now,40's music, tomorrow,Radio Classics(1930's-1962 old time radio programs, day after that,B.B. King's Bluesville,or maybe Symphony Hall, country music,or a combination of all of them, another day)... i even turn off the satellite radio, and enjoy Jimi Hendrix,James Brown,Patsy Cline,Ray Charles,Johnny Cash,Stevie Wonder,or even many jazz artists, like Billie Holiday,Anita O'Day,Charles Mingus,Sonny Rollins, and,of course, the great John Coltrane,on my BOSE stereo... i can name many others that i have in my music collection, like Muddy Waters,John Lee Hooker,Dizzy Gillespie, and Gene Krupa... i have very rare recordings of Ray Charles,Miles Davis, and Jelly Roll Morton that date back nearly a century... i was told by someone who i trust about music that i happen to have one of the best music collections,in the state of California... i have to upgrade some of it,because i want more great music in my collection,so i will take a trip,or two,to do so,shortly...

simple thing to keep sane...

sometimes i want to cry when remembering those ten years "on the road",because i met some true "angels",when traveling, and honestly meeting those people simply helped me to keep sane, because it would have been easy for me to lose my mind... one day,i was in St. George Utah, oddly next to a cemetery, reading the Bible, then decided to walk the cemetery, stopped at every single tombstone, looked down, said a prayer, and then walked away... that was one small thing that i did to keep sane, when i was traveling, because sometimes it seemed to be the proper thing to do,oddly,folks...

life "on the road"...

i have awakened at two am,can not get back to bed,and it has been a very strange morning,so far... my mind is going at a high rate of speed, and i am having a hard time, because of it... people have the idea that i am a nice guy,and they are right, but i am remembering the times that i was a person, who honestly did not care about anyone, including family, because things were very, very difficult for me to really survive... ten years "on the road" will do that to you, because you have to be tougher than iron to get by every day... when alone,i was someone who was very nice, but around people,i was a nasty scumbag, when i had to be... i woke up every morning,if i went to bed, looked at another sunrise, and just wondered if this "hell" was ever going to end... to this day,i still can not stand looking at a sunrise, because it got to a point that i just hated it... looked at close to 2,500,maybe slightly more, sunrises, and it was monotonous, during that time... i lost too many friends, loved ones,it honestly hurt, because i had to be someone who had to survive, and i had to do some things that i honestly am ashamed of... that is what i mean by being a nasty scumbag to people... being "on the road" for ten years changes a person and i still do some things that i did back then... i call it "survival mode",when i use those things in my arsenal of things that i have, because i remember how tough it was to be walking, and be "on the thumb",when traveling... i met some very, very nice people, and i honestly was thankful, and grateful for what they did for me,and sometimes things turned around like a true miracle, when i least expected it... for example, walking into a fire station,in Brighton,Colorado, asking for directions to Interstate 76,and some firefighter drives me over to Greeley, buys me a bus ticket to Newark,New Jersey, for no reason,or some college students from the University of Minnesota bought me a meal,in Holbrook,Arizona, paid the bill, and left the change, for me(and it was not a small amount of change)... even making it from Reno to Albuquerque,in just seventeen hours,of hitchhiking, when i get out of one ride,in Kingman,Arizona, and the very next car behind the first ride picks me up,and i am standing on Central Avenue,in Albuquerque,at ten pm.,after being in Reno at five thirty, that morning reminds me of a true miracle... all three things did really happen, including a deputy sheriff,in Delta,Utah, taking me 100+ miles,to the Utah/Nevada border, when i took a wrong turn into the Great Basin National Park, one day... i spent that night,in Ely,Nevada, and some guy, from Leesburg,Florida, bought me a room, and then took me to Reno the next day, when he turned back to the border to pick me up... he went past me at the Utah/Nevada border, drove ten miles, and then did an u-turn,and picked me up... when you are "on the road",you live day to day, sometimes minute by minute, and that is how it is,because life "on the road" is really tough... some of the things that i mention here have been mentioned before by me on this blog, but some things i have never said to anyone, since they happened to me at that time... at times,i was meaner than a cobra just to survive,to some people, but one thing that i must mention here that those times were few and far between, but they are memorable to me,because they were very few in number... some things that i remember were very nice, but at times,i just wanted to scream, because some people left me in places that you would not be caught dead in... at least three people got angry at me,and simply left me in the Nevada/California desert, with no water, and me only walking to some shade,or in New Haven,Connecticut,at three am,walking streets that you are looking around to see if trouble is around the corner, and even in Kearney,Nebraska(a nice town),at two am,with a 40 mph plus wind in your face, and no coat(temp was mid-30's,but wind chill was near zero)... what brutal weather... finally a nice thought to end this:i remember after a long day of hitchhiking simply at night,in Flagstaff,Arizona, this time with a coat, and simply seeing snow fall on the asphalt,as i walk down the road, waiting for another adventure the next day...

NFL history...

Last Sunday,Aaron Rodgers made NFL history,i forgot to mention:he is the fastest passer,in NFL history to reach 30,000 passing yards,in only 3,652 attempts...

game saving play...

the Packers gave up 548 yards on 89 plays, against the Chargers(ugh!!!),on Sunday afternoon, but it is the last four plays that decided the game... on second down, the Chargers ran a play that the Packers actually screwed up on,with Danny Woodhead in the flat near the pylon, all alone, but Philip Rivers decided to go to Antonio Gates in the back corner of the end zone... he overthrew Gates by a mile... however,Clay Matthews noticed the breakdown on the play, with Woodhead all alone in the flat,by the pylon,so he talked to Damarious Randall about it... unfortunately, for the Chargers, they ran the same play,on fourth down,as they ran for second down... this time,Matthews jammed Gates at the line of scrimmage(and took him out of the play),and Randall, who recognized the play, from second down, this time, covered Woodhead at the pylon, and knocked the football away, and the Packers won the game...

pundits suck!!!

the Packers are 6-0,and i am tired of pundits who denigrate the Packers' chances... they hype the New England Patriots like they are the best team in the NFL... may be,folks... when you look at the Patriots' schedule, they have had an easier schedule than the Packers, and have not had the injuries that the Packers have had, this season,so far... i would love to see both teams play each other,if both teams are as healthy as they can be,and that may happen in Super Bowl 50... last season,if i may say,the Packers did beat the Patriots, last season,26-21...

comments...

i am sorry,folks... i had been listening to some music over last weekend that literally reminded of some people that i had not thought about in a very long time... some good, some bad!!!! to tell you the truth,i got sad and then got mad,so i wrote out my honest feelings, and if they got morose,i am sorry, for going on and on,but not for the feelings...

final wish...

at my memorial service/Irish Wake,do me one favor:put a liter of Bacardi 151 by my urn,and enjoy it,liberally... ALWAYS KEEP ONE BY MY URN... have a belt on me...

blog statement...

the Packers have the bye week this week... a great time for the bye this season, because the Packers' entire team is banged up... so i am taking a few days to relax...

final notes on the Chargers/Packers game...

Philip Rivers threw for 503 yards against the Packers' defense... true, but who won... the Packers made two,not just one 4th down and three stop,in game... the first one came in the second quarter,so the Packers' defense did make critical stops in the game... the reason for the 503 yards,in general,is that the Chargers did not trust their running back(Melvin Gordon),who fumbled in the third quarter... after that, they passed almost every play that they could, and no team could have stopped Rivers, who became the 17th passer to pass for 500+ yards in game... BUT WHO WON THE GAME??? a win is a win...

simple statement...

folks, this is a Packers' blog, and the main way that i talk to my father without saying "hello" every day... i enjoy doing it... i estimate about just over ninety percent over the years that i have done on this blog is about Packers' football, since i am a shareholder/owner of the team, but honestly,it is about family, and deep respect for them, and make them laugh, and then understand who i am,as a man,and how much they have had to do with my growth as a person... i have another blog for the Detroit Red Wings, and just pure hockey, because that is the way that i want it to be... if you do not understand that, that is tough, but i honestly do not care a whit about your opinions, because i write most days to entertain my father,my dear family, and that is just me,folks... on this blog,my opinion counts, and no one else's,period...

comments to family...

i only wrote "a strange tale" to tell my family how much i honestly respect and love them, and that is the only point of that blog post... to them,i give a grateful hat tip,and much love...

comment...

note:so far, this weekend, there are no beatdown of the week...

Packers' game score...

Packers 27,Chargers 20... BEST GAME OF THE DAY,and the best game of the season for the Packers... Philip Rivers had 503 passing yards;needed 506 to force overtime, stopped on 4th and goal at the Packers' three, with twenty seconds to play in game... what did i tell you,folks...

game of note...

Carolina Panthers 27,Seattle Seahawks 23... Seahawks not same team as last year-2-4,so far, this season, and game was in Seattle... EAT IT 12's...

NFC North division scores...

Detroit Lions 37,DA BEARS 34,overtime... DA BEARS choke... who cares??? Minnesota Vikings 16,Kansas City Chiefs 10...

the Packers win,if...

if you are the Packers' defense, you must rattle Philip Rivers by harassing him all day... do not allow him extended time to pass the football... if you do,he will dissect you like a surgeon... does San Diego have enough firepower to beat the Packers??? yes,if the Packers make mistakes... he has three major weapons on team offense:Antonio Gates,Keenan Allen, and Danny Woodhead(5"8",if that, and tougher than iron),who can run like a deer but is dangerous out of the offensive backfield, when passed the football,by Rivers... the Packers have scored in the first quarter in 21 straight games, longest current streak in the NFL... keys to Packers to win:start fast, and keep mistakes to a bare minimum... i expect the game to be a shootout:may be last team who has football, wins,or the team who makes the critical mistake,at the wrong time, loses game... interesting game, isn't it,Sunday...

Chargers/Packers game notes,and history...

the Packers are facing the third best team offense, and the second best passing offense,in the Chargers, this season,so far... it should be an old fashioned shootout,at Lambeau Field,Sunday afternoon... historical note:the only time in ten games that the Chargers has beaten the Packers was at Lambeau Field,34-28(during a seven game losing streak),on October 7,1984,and the Packers started the 1984 season,1-7,and finished that season,8-8... what a bounce back... back to game notes:the only time that Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers faced each other was in 2011,when Packers won,45-38,on route to a 15-1 regular season, for the Packers... expect that,Sunday... get me the TUMS,folks... sorry, folks,i have switched the breakdown of the game to my new segment,"the Packers win,if"... it just seemed the proper place for it... i use the same resources, but i break it down it more that way...

a strange tale...

this is very strange, but this will be the only time that i will talk about my older sister... she is someone who i honestly have very few childhood memories,or it has been maybe the fact that she has done more damage to my family over the past 45+ years that i have scrubbed my part of those memories to get by with life... she claims to be a Christian, but honestly,to tell you the truth,i have my doubts in some respects of that... growing up with her was strange, because the most vivid memories of her that i have is the weekly fights that my brother would have with her,and i do not mean arguments, but i mean fisticuffs, and i used to call them,"the Saturday Night Fights",until one weekend,my brother started to get the upper hand, then my parents stepped in,and stopped them cold... my older sister is,like they say,"a weird duck",and i simply do not understand her at all... if you did not know the story of what happened, you would believe that she is a nice person, and many of her friends would say that... however,if you mention her to the family, you get various reactions, from indifference,to extreme anger, and to bewilderment, because she has burned so many bridges to the family, that when the last time i saw her,(re-rack it for you)she showed up uninvited, and tried to talk to me... well, that lasted about five minutes,folks... i told her honestly what the family felt about her,and that she had burned every bridge, and that no one wanted any part in seeing her,and then i asked her why she said what she said to me,because it was simply uncalled for and a total fallacy... after a lame apology, she tried to blame other people(her husband),denied that she had anything to do it,then i got angry, cursed at her, opened up my door, and said, angrily,"GET OUT",to her... finally,i have directions to have her arrested(and to put my name on the report,as a symbol),if she shows up at my wake, because i will have more respect for my family DEAD,that she has ever had in her entire life... she has burned that final bridge!!! final thing to say:i deeply want my family to have a PARTY(BURN DOWN THE PLACE!!!,if you get the meaning),when i pass on,because i want to be remembered as someone who wanted to have fun... simply,no tears there, but cry privately,if you must... note:dance an Irish jig for both my UNC and me,there,folks...
