trivia...

this is simple, folks:what quarterback holds the NFL record for most touchdown passes,in the first four games??? hint:it was set this year... answer:Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, who has sixteen touchdowns, with zero interceptions, this season...

blog statement...

i will break down the Lions' game, against the Packers, this week, then go on a mini-vacation,and comment on the game next Thursday, and i will study the Packers' next opponent(the Baltimore Ravens,in Baltimore),while up in Reno, and blog, when i get back on Thursday...

Packers' news...

next week,Packers play the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field... it will be their first divisional game, and they have five divisional games in the next nine weeks, starting next week...

trivia...

how good was quarterback Brett Favre at Lambeau Field??? in his first forty home games,he won thirty five games, best in NFL history...

blog statement...

am taking a few days off from both blogs the first week of October... going to Reno, and watch the Packers' game from Reno... Red Wings have a five day break at the same time,of mini-vacation... will try to blog from Reno,at least once...

beatdowns of the week...

Kansas City Chiefs 31,New York Giants 7... Giants drop to 0-4,and look bad doing it... San Francisco 49ers 35,St Louis Rams 11... Rams are putrid,as 49ers roll easily... Indianapolis Colts 37,Jacksonville Jaguars 3... poor Jaguars!!!!!! may be the worst team in the NFL... they got booed lustfully,at home...

a day at Lambeau Field...

they have been reseeding the pitch at Lambeau Field... they are using a scaffolding to light up the field, resting the lights on the scaffolding every five yards... at least, that is what it looks like to me... the "Frozen Tundra" may not be frozen, but it does look beautiful... wish i was there watching football, but it is the bye week...

NFL news...

backup quarterback Matt Cassel will start for the Minnesota Vikings, against the Pittsburgh Steelers,in London, because quarterback Christian Ponder has a fractured rib...

commentary...

i have to give credit to the 49ers... they played well, but it was the St. Louis Rams, who did absolutely nothing until late in the game... the Rams had eighteen yards rushing the football last night... eighteen!!!!!!!!! there is absolutely no way that your team could win when you rush the ball for eighteen yards in a game, unless you pass the football around the sandlot, and the Rams did nothing at all... they tried to play defense like Seattle, and to tell you the truth, they are not the Seahawks,on defense... 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not have big numbers,as he handed the football to Frank Gore, who rushed for 153 yards last night, and the team ran for close to 220 yards... the Rams could not separate their receivers from the mud,as the 49ers looked like the defense that took them to Super Bowl XLVII last season, but before you anoint them,"the best team in the NFL",and think they are going anywhere near the NFL playoffs, remember that they are 2-2,and you have to admit that they played like a very pissed off team, and wanted to show everybody, including the Rams, that they are a good team, after a couple weeks of playing like they were stuck in manure... they still have people not playing up to snuff, and injured players on defense, and offense... simply said, the Rams are a woeful team, the 49ers beat them badly, and they took advantage of a bad team,on a night to forget for the Rams... $64,000 question:is this the team that everyone has been talking about,or are they the team who did the el foldo, against Seattle, and lost to the Indianapolis Colts like paper champions??? right now, somewhere in between,i would believe, because they still have to beat a good team, but the Rams are not a good team, and the 49ers played pissed off, like i knew that they would, because they were embarrassed by Seattle, and Indianapolis(at home),and that was unacceptable,again...

wrong turn goes right...

a woman,Meredith Fitzmaurice, running a half marathon,in Amherstburg,Ontario, running in the Run for Heroes marathon, and training for the Detroit Marathon, where she was going to try to qualify for next year's Boston Marathon, took a wrong turn, and got clearance from race organizers to run the full marathon mid-race,because of the wrong turn, actually won the woman's division of the race,in 3:11:48... the icing on her cake:she qualified for next year's Boston Marathon...

what a real goofball...

"number 15" has lost his mind,in Minnesota... an 0-3 team has problems in London preparing for a game, against Pittsburgh, when wide receiver Greg Jennings remarked to the media that backup quarterback Matt Cassel is "commanding" on the team... facts on Cassel:he has had 30 turnovers in last 18 games... his last team(Kansas City Chiefs)went 2-14,last season... "commanding",per se!!! Jennings' exact quote was,"he's more verbal, kind of commanding in the huddle"... what an real poached egg!!!!!!!!!! so cracked,too... note to number 15:win a game first, then start to talk,or even catch a critical pass during a game... you do not know when to shut your mouth, and just play football... by the way, number 15,Christian Ponder should start, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, even with bad ribs...

blog statement...

taking day off... with the Packers' bye, pundits are nitpicking the Packers' season so far... to them,i say,you can stuff that crud in your ear(not the word i want to use),but to tell you the truth, injuries and breaks in momentum will tell you about the Packers' season, not words from know it alls, who think they know NFL football, because they used to play the game... i know more about NFL football than those morons... that is the truth...

correction...

a couple of days ago,i wrote a blog post about rasslin' crowds, and i special noted Mid South Wrestling,as Mid State Wrestling... i corrected the minor mistake, with an asterisk in the post...

Packers' injury report...

as i looked at the Packers' injury report, today,i noticed that two starters(Casey Hayward, and Morgan Burnett)and a backup(Jarrett Bush)have been injured,in the case of Hayward, and Burnett, for the first three games of the season... all three players have missed most of the season, with hamstring injuries... with the bye,it does look like Burnett may play, against the Detroit Lions, after the bye, because he was practicing this week... there is no report on the injury to Clay Matthews' hamstring, but reports indicate that he may play against Detroit... Eddie Lacy is going through concussion protocol, and Jermichael Finley is being looked at by the team, and his doctors... the concussion protocol is next for him... as for running back James Starks(knee injury),there is no report, but closer to the game, against Detroit,i expect a report on whether he will be playing, against the Lions...

blog statement...

with the Packers' bye week, this week,i am going to slow it down a bit on the blog,i am debating whether to go up to Reno, next Monday to Thursday... probably will not,but i need a break,soon... mentally,i am turning into a pile of mush(laughing),but i am very tired,if you know what i mean,folks...

the best rasslin' crowds in history...

the best rasslin' crowds:1)Chicago;2)New York;3)St. Louis;4)Texas(El Paso,Dallas, and Houston)... i make this list because i do not mean the crowds of the modern day... in the 40's and 50's,Chicago was a hub of the American Wrestling Association, and the National Wrestling Alliance... in the 50's,and 60's,New York was a hub of the National Wrestling Alliance, and later the World Wide Wrestling Federation(WWWF/WWF,and later WWE),which was an offshoot of the NWA... in the 40's through the mid 80's,St. Louis was one the biggest hubs of the NWA... now number four is a combination of three Texas cities:El Paso was the territory of the Guerrero family;Dallas was the territory of the Von Erich family(World Class Championship Wrestling/WCCW),and the NWA,in the 60's through the mid 80's,and Houston was a hub of the NWA,and owned by Paul Boesch, who was a pioneer in wrestling... special note:Mid South* Wrestling(Louisiana and Mississippi),and Stampede Wrestling,in Calgary deserve special mention, because in Canada,Stampede was owned by legendary promoter Stu Hart, who should be mentioned in the same breath as Sam Muchnick,Paul Boesch, the Guerrero family, the Adkisson/Von Erich family, and Jess,Vincent J.McMahon, and the McMahon family, who owned, and still own the WWWF,WWF,and now WWE... Muchnick, and Boesch were pioneering promoters, during the early days of the NWA... *correction...

commentary...

what is wrong with the 49ers,Falcons,Giants,and Packers??? simply said, they all have major problems... first of all,i will go through them one by one... the 49ers offense and defense has really sucked, because their running game was non-existent the last two weeks, their passing attack has been stuffed by defenses designed to stop Kaepernick from executing their "pistol" offense, and without a running game,by their quarterback(he has been a statue in the pocket, trying to pass, and he has been under fifty percent in completion percentage)... the defense has lost players to injury, and other things, like free agency, and they seem not to be the same defense as last year, because Seattle, and Indianapolis ran the football down their throats... the 49ers offense has not been on the field too much, because the defense could not stop anybody on third down... they have been on the field twenty one minutes, against Seattle, and twenty four minutes, against Indianapolis... the NFL is an offensive minded, and passing league, and if you can not play offense(less than twenty five minutes will not do it),you will have a hard time winning the game... the problem with the Falcons is simple:their defense against the pass has been awful, and too much pressure put on Matt Ryan, and his passing, and defenses know that the running game has been very very erratic, with Steven Jackson out with a thigh injury... the defense also has had a very tough time rushing, and pressuring the opposing quarterback... they will have a tough time winning a game, but with Matt Ryan, they have a shot to win... the Giants have been awful offensively and defensively, allowing seven sacks to quarterback Eli Manning, yesterday, means that the offensive line has been very offensive, and the front seven of the defense has been muted in attacking the opposing quarterback(sacking),and that allows the weak defensive backfield to be exposed,as an unit who can not cover a fly, with flypaper,or even a fly swatter... the Giants' running game is one of the worst in the NFL,period, and if you can not run the football consistently, you can not win a game in the NFL... now for the Packers, the offense has been very inconsistent, and that goes back to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and head coach Mike McCarthy, not on the same page, right now... the running game is one bright spot recently, but with Eddie Lacy out with a concussion, and James Starks out with a knee injury, they were depending on a third string running back,in Johnathan Franklin, and the offense has been so inconsistent, that they have not been on the field long enough to rest the defense, who against the run has been very good, and yet, when you play "jump ball",with taller receivers, you tend to get tired late in the game, and the fact the Packers' offense has been very inconsistent, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers not playing like he should,it is dragging the team down to a very good but not great team... the worst area of the team so far is the special teams unit, who fumbled the football within the Packers' two,to put the Packers down 14-0,before the offense was even on the field... no offense can score at will, and with the Packers' offense being just out of sync, the Packers are an enigma wrapped in a mystery...

correction...

NFL.com first reported that 49ers' defensive lineman Aldon Smith was suspended "indefinitely",but it was corrected, when they said that he would take a leave of absence to go to rehab, club president Jed York,said......

breaking news...

49ers' defensive end Aldon Smith has been suspended "indefinitely" by the team, according to club president Jed York... Smith was arrested for his second DWI,in two years, and possession of marijuana, after a single car crash into a tree,on Friday... when it rains,it pours...

ugly surprises...

Miami Dolphins 27,Atlanta Falcons 23... Indianapolis Colts 27,San Francisco 49ers 7... Packers,49ers,and Falcons all 1-2,so far in season... Packers have a bye, next week... note:New York Giants are also 0-3...

Packers' game score,and commentary...

Cincinnati Bengals 34,Packers 30... Packers lose in an offensively brutal way... after Packers go up,30-14(thirty straight points),the Packers' offense came apart, giving up three straight turnovers(two interceptions, and a game-killing 58 yard fumble return by the Bengals' Terrance Newman)... both teams had eight turnovers, combined, but honestly the Bengals played better at the end of the game... the Bengals' team defense is better than advertised(turning the Packers' offense into a real mess at times),and were hungrier than the Packers, and even though, the Packers had a 103 yard rushing effort,by Johnathan Franklin, his fumble,on a fourth and one,was picked up by Newman and returned 58 yards for the winning touchdown... injuries to Jermichael Finley(concussion),James Starks(knee),and Clay Matthews(hamstring)turned the Packers' offense, and defense into a challenge throughout the second half... Aaron Rodgers was just human, and played a bad game for him,as the Packers' offense struggled in the third and fourth quarters,again... the Packers' special teams' unit really sucked, and has most of the early season, and a fumbled kickoff by the Packers(even before the Packers' offense got on the field) put the Packers down 14-0,as the Bengals recovered the football inside the Packers' two yard line... a game truly to forget, because the Packers played very badly...

beatdown of the week...

Carolina Panthers 38,New York Giants 0... Panthers crush Giants' offense into mush, sacking Eli Manning six times in the first half, and seven times in total,as the Giants struggled and did nothing on offense...

trips to remember...

in August, and September 1998,i was in Colorado, and then in Nebraska... mid-August,i was in Boulder, trying to get into a shelter, and they would not let me into it for 24 hours, which meant i was stuck in Boulder, and rather pissed, but the shelter was near a state highway,so i walked and kept walking, got picked up a few miles down the highway... as the sun went down the lady handed me some money, and left me on the side of highway, pointing to a nearby hotel... i checked the prices and it was sky high,so i kept walking, got another ride into Estes Park, stopped by the police station to see if they had a shelter, not asking for anything else... they asked me if i had some money... i did,so they offered me a hotel room and i accepted, and then had a great mexican meal... the next morning,i left town by the main highway, stopped by a great donut shop, and then walked into the Rocky Mountain National Park... at the vista point,i saw some great views, and then started walking down the main road through the park, through some switchbacks, and stopped to gather my breath, and it started snowing lightly,as i was standing next to the main road, then walked over to the main visitor's center(12,000+ feet)... i got a lift out to Granby, another hotel room, and then found a great German restaurant... the next morning,i actually walked to Steamboat Springs, and it was a very pleasant walk through some spectacular scenery, and through a ghost town,it looked like... well i ended up in Craig after walking some hundred miles... the next month,i got stuck at a rest stop,on the Wyoming/Nebraska border,on I-80 for four days, when i realized that i was not going to get a ride, until i was dead(laughing),so i saw the sign for US 30,heading into Nebraska,so i started walking down the two lane highway through Sidney,Kimble,Gothenberg,North Platte, and all the way to Kearney, following US 30(Lincoln Highway)... it took me about 11 days, and i covered some hundred plus miles... i got a few rides down US 30,but i saw some beautiful scenery, including the North Platte River outside North Platte, and a flock of black birds diving to a pond's surface over and over, going in an oval, outside Kearney... during the month of September,i also was a trucker for four days, shortly before that hundred plus mile adventure... i will always remember those walks and that awesome adventure...

questions on Packers-Bengals game...

question:can the Bengals win a shootout, against Green Bay??? unlikely... can they win a slugfest??? possibly... how to stop the Bengals??? bother quarterback Andy Dalton with pressure, all day,and do not allow them to run the football consistently, because it will open up the passing game, and with A.J. Green and Jerome Gresham, both 6'5"or taller,do not play "jump ball" with them all day because you may lose the game that way... how to stop the Packers??? keep Aaron Rodgers off the field... however, the Packers' offense is overall better, and should win a shootout... the defenses are similar, but the injury bug have hit key players on both teams,on defense,so defensively,it should be a challenge...

a day at Lambeau Field...

it does look like they are reseeding the pitch at Lambeau Field... it also looks like they have a scaffold laid out on the pitch,to reseed the pitch, because they do not want to damage the surface, and they have a different lighting system on that side of the pitch... just to look at the bowl at Lambeau Field is a dream...

Packers-Bengals trivia...

to tell you the absolute truth, the Cincinnati Bengals are a very very good team, offensively, and defensively.... if the game against the Packers is a slugfest,it will be anyone's game... if it becomes a shootout of a game, the Packers have the firepower to win the game... simply,it will be the team who wins, and who has the fewest turnovers... note of worth:the Bengals' defense has not allowed a passer to pass for 300 yards,in last sixteen games(longest current streak in the NFL)... in the game, watch for wide receiver A.J. Green, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis,and quarterback Andy Dalton... on defense, watch out for James Harrison, one of the hardest hitters in the NFL... for the Packers, quarterback Aaron Rodgers(in the last five regular season games)has had seventeen touchdown passes,a passer rating of 125,and guess how many interceptions he has had??? answer:if you guessed only one,you are correct... the Packers' running game broke a forty five regular season game streak of not having a 100 yard rusher in a game, last week, when James Starks rushed for 132 yards... in the eleven games played between the two teams, the Bengals have the edge,6-5,but they have only met twice,in the last 14 years(2005,and 2009)... interesting game,Sunday, isn't it...

commentary...

to the Cleveland Browns' management:suck rock!!!!!!!! the fans should boo the Browns lustfully for this move(to trade running back Trent Richardson(number three overall 2012 NFL Draft pick),for a first round pick in 2014 to the Indianapolis Colts... first of all, i feel sorry for the true fans of the Browns, which i am one... after the debacle of Browns' owner Art Modell moving the team to Baltimore,in the mid-90's,because he wanted a new stadium, and more money, the Browns have sucked rock, ever since they were an expansion team,in 1999,and then they drafted Richardson, and a quarterback in Brandon Weeden, last year, and looked like a team on the way up,but i guess they thought Richardson was not the back that they drafted in 2012... so the fans of the Cleveland Browns get hosed again,as Cleveland Browns' management tried to spin this as a success, but honestly,i feel really bad for the Browns' fan base, because they are one of the most passionate fan bases,period... a very sad day in Cleveland, because the fan base get hosed... my opinion:to Browns' owner Jimmy Haslam,to CEO Joe Banner, general manager Michael Lombardi, and head coach Rob Chudzinski, you are real pieces of work, and no matter what you are saying, you have given the Browns' fan base no answers, and you really do not care about a whit about the fan base,period... to all four,i simply say you really suck rock, and you deserve a losing team, because all of you do not have a clue how to rebuild a team, and i feel very sorry for a very miserable fan base that really supports the team, because they have to watch a team who will lose most of their games this season, and for seasons to come... the Browns do have a ton of draft picks next spring, but this year, sorry Cleveland, you really suck this year... to the Browns' fan base, boo lustfully every chance you have,period... to the Cleveland Browns' management:suck rock!!!!!!!!

correction...

i corrected the previous post in what i said:Corrales beat Castillo with a TKO,in the tenth...

commentary...

i honestly do not take any opponent lightly, because i respect every team in the NFL... I REALLY DO,PERIOD!!!!!!! to tell you the truth:the last time i took an opponent lightly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Packers,38-28,when Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw his only pick-six(so far),and a then unknown rookie quarterback Josh Freeman won his first NFL game,as a starter...

a fight to remember...

just saw a tape of Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo fight,in 2005,on Showtime... after nine rounds of a total war,Castillo knocked down Corrales twice,in the tenth,in the first minute, and referee Tony Weekes TOOK a point away from Corrales for him spitting out his mouthpiece(Corrales looked at a round of 10-7,for Castillo),then Corrales totally devastated Castillo in the second minute of the tenth round, and Weekes stopped fight when Castillo looked like he was being punished on the ropes with absolute bombs... Castillo looked out on his feet, and Corrales won with a TKO over Castillo,in the last minute of the tenth round... i remember this fight live, and i was totally stunned by the end of the fight, and to tell you the truth, when i saw the tape, again i was still stunned by the end of the fight... Diego Corrales was a good fighter, but this was the his greatest fight... why did i talk about a fight from eight years ago??? simply because the tenth round was so special...

trivia...

to start my coverage of the Packers-Cincinnati Bengals game,on Sunday, here is some trivia:both Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy, and Bengals' head coach Marvin Lewis coached together at the University of Pittsburgh,in 1990-1991...

kid donates change to police...

an eleven year old,Maxx Siepert, walked into the Greenfield,Wisconsin police station, and walked up to the front desk, and gave the police department $10.03,in change, because he learned about 911,and wanted to help the police... a total class act...

opinions are mine... deal with it(laughing)...

you may disagree with my opinions on this blog,or my content, but folks,i try to do the best for this blog, and i have to say that honestly,if this was strictly a Packers' blog, even though i am very proud of being part of the public ownership of the Packers,it would be boring... i feel that my content is varied enough to keep it entertaining, which is my goal... you can disagree with me,but folks, not changing for anyone,period...

Karmic justice...

i respect every team in the NFL,and that is true, but to see 49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh eat crow in an embarrassing way, made me smile from ear to ear... Karma does suck and bites hard,JIMMY BOY!!!!!!!

Sunday, September 15, 2013

special comments of the week...

when i wrote about the beatdown of the week, this game was 5-0 at halftime, but i loved to see 49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh eat a whole bunch of crow, and now,i do not think Harbaugh will say much after this embarrassment of a game... this was supposed to be a good game, but it turned into a rout quickly, and San Francisco embarrassed themselves with some stupid play, and some foolish penalties trying to be tough, rough, and macho,as a team(a classic bully type of team)... to score only three points in a game that you did absolutely nothing on offense, and your vaunted defense did el foldo in the second half... want gravy on that crow,JIMMY BOY??? you deserve to chew on the bitter bird!!!!!!!!!!

beatdown of the week? no...

honestly, there was not a beatdown of the week... the closest game to a beatdown was the Packers against the Redskins, but the second half was better than the first half, even though the Packers led 31-0 in the second half... i can not honestly give that dubious honor to the Redskins, this week...

Packers' game score...

Packers 38,Redskins 20... Aaron Rodgers was 34 for 42 for team record tying 480 yards... James Starks ran for 132 yards on 20 carries;first time in 45 regular season games that the Packers have had a running back run for more than 100 yards in a game... Packers were up,31-0,before Redskins scored a point...

weather forecast for Packers' game,tomorrow...

just checked forecast for Packers' game:rain throughout game, and the weather(rain) stopping late in day,and light rain tomorrow...

a sunset at Lambeau Field...

as the sun goes down,in Green Bay,the field is ready and waiting for tomorrow's game with the Washington Redskins... what a beautiful sight....

blog statement...

true,i have had a horrible week, but honestly i need to suck it up,and go on with my blog today... i have to be grateful to have what i have, because there are a lot of people that have it worse than i do,right now...

blog statement...

folks,i am getting irritable in getting little sleep over the past week... this last week has been just horrible for me... besides a relative in the hospital(she is getting better, thank you very much,God),another friend is in another hospital, and was told that he has six months to a year to live, and so to give my sanity,i am taking today off, because i simply want to make my blog the best that it can be,and right now,it will not be that way,and that is not acceptable to me... be back tomorrow... ever need to simply scream???(laughing)... i have to laugh sometime...

memorable Redskins-Packers games...

the 1936 NFL Championship game between the Boston Redskins and the Green Bay Packers was supposed to be played in Boston, but the game was moved to the Polo Grounds,in New York... why??? the Redskins' owner,George Preston Marshall, was upset with the support of the fans, because he was moving the team to Washington... the Packers won,21-6... it was their first ever meeting... on October 17,1983,the Packers pulled the most improbable upset,on Monday Night Football, when they hosted the defending Super Bowl Champion Washington Redskins, and beating them,48-47,in the highest scoring game,in Monday Night Football history...

Packers' trivia...

if the Packers win Sunday, against the Washington Redskins, they will join the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions with 50+ wins in home openers, and will be the first NFL team to have 50+ wins in home openers, and road openers...

an apology,folks...

i have to apologize to you, folks, because my mind has been distracted this week, because i have had my mind on a very sick lady in the hospital, and that sucks that she is there... i will get back to football, today, perhaps tomorrow,in looking at stats, for the game against the Redskins,Sunday...

a day at Lambeau Field...

a gorgeous partly cloudy day at Lambeau Field... i guess they start doing the markings on the pitch of green tomorrow, for the game,Sunday, against the Redskins... a beautiful day to dream...

Thursday, September 12, 2013

trivia...

Sunday's game, against the Washington Redskins, will be only the second time that the Redskins have opened the home slate of the Packers... the only other time was a 7-7 tie,on September 7,1933,when the Redskins were in Boston...

comment...

one final word on the San Francisco 49ers:good team, and would love a rematch, possibly at Lambeau Field, but honestly i would love to close out Candlestick Park, with a Packers' win,in January...

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

to a special lady...

i will get back to football, tomorrow, but right now,i am thinking of one very sick lady, just out of surgery, and that is more on my mind than who is playing the Packers this week... i called her the "rock" of my family(that is my opinion),as my father is the "heart" of my family... very few times in my life,i have told her that i really loved her,but honestly,i love her with all my heart, for so many reasons that i can not count... i just wish that she would recover and be stronger than ever,as i know that she will, and that is all i want, before all else...

a story of courage and redemption...

in Bethany,Oklahoma, a woman,Tona Herndon, was mugged, and robbed, visiting her late husband's,of 60 years, grave, who died the week before,by 39 year old Shane Lunsford... he is in jail... however, that is not the end of the story.... his 15 year old son,Christian asked to meet her in a church parking lot, apologized and handed her $250.,the amount that his dad took, that he was going to use for a trip... Ms. Herndon accepted the apology for his dad's terrible and awful actions... in her heart of hearts, she handed the money back to him... the apple does fall far from that tree, and she is a classy lady,no doubt...

blog statement...

i know this is a Packers' blog, but today, the "rock" of my family is in the hospital having a serious operation.... she will recover and be all right, but she needs prayer right now....

commentary...

49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh is in the same company,as NHL Commissioner(for Life?)Gary Bettman, and honestly that is not a compliment by me,because i have no respect for them at all,as people... Bettman, remember i called pond scum, and even though coach Harbaugh may not have a long pedigree of things being moronic and stupid,he is not my favorite person, because he just will not shut up,and it may be good copy for the pundits, but he better learn quickly that some coaches may not like his attitude, and his big mouth... Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy refused to get into the gutter about Harbaugh's latest comments about Packers' linebacker Clay Matthews, noting that he better be working on his "slap",saying that Matthews hit 49ers' offensive lineman Joe Staley with a punch and with an open slap, during scrum after Matthews' hit,on 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick, during the game, last Sunday... what a piece of work...

Monday, September 9, 2013

commentary...

yesterday's Packers' game against the 49ers was a rough tough rumble of a game... clearly, the two teams do not like each other, and as far as i am concerned, that is just fine with me... the hit on 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick was out of bounds, and should have been a personal foul on Packers' linebacker Clay Matthews,i do admit, but if you look at the replay,Matthews left his feet while inbounds, meaning while being a bad hit on Kaepernick,i would say that it was unintentional,no matter what 49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh may say... the game was a very good game;tied three times, after three periods, and the Packers had a brief lead,at 28-24,and the 49ers scored the winning touchdown, and basically ran out the clock, and won the game, fair and square... however, both teams are beatable, and should be in the NFL playoffs... a rematch should be fun to watch....

Sunday, September 8, 2013

commentary...

San Francisco 49ers 34,Green Bay Packers 28... simply a great football game... best team won,today... however,if you say that the Packers can not play with the 49ers,you are simply crazy, and totally insane... to the 49ers,i tip my hat... see you in the playoffs... what a game... Colin Kaepernick and Anquan Boldin had a great game against the Packers... both were the difference in the game, for the 49ers,period...

special comments...

Detroit Lions 34,Minnesota Vikings 24... when your offense scores three points, minus the three touchdowns scored by running back Adrian Peterson, you deserve special mention,as an offense that has nothing, but Peterson... woe are the Vikings...

beatdown of the week...

Kansas City Chiefs 28,Jacksonville Jaguars 2... may be the only time i mention the Chiefs,as the beatdown of the week... Jacksonville scored first,on a safety, but the Chiefs shut them out the rest of the way,as the Jaguars did absolutely nothing on offense...

notes of season....

first carry by Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson was a seventy eight yard touchdown run... actually, the first points of the season were scored by the Pittsburgh Steelers, when on the opening kickoff, the Tennessee Titans received the opening kickoff, and the Titans' kick returner caught the ball on the one inch line, and then backed up and knelt for the Steelers' safety, for two points...

commentary...

i need to comment on the behaviour of San Francisco 49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh... he may be a very good head coach, but i am getting tired of his "i am superior" ego-based attitude... first,he blasted Packers' linebacker Clay Matthews for his comments on how to stop 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick, after saying that,"we are the 49ers,we can do anything we want",earlier in the week... now he says that the NFL rules on the quarterback play,in the read option "are flawed, and biased",and went on a five minute monologue,"a rant",and blasted the NFL and their rules during it... LISTEN UP,JIMMY BOY,you are not the Commissioner of the NFL,or someone important to be listened to:you are a very good head coach, and i am getting tired of your big mouth... i do not care a whit about what you really think... i respect your football team, but JIMMY BOY,on a scale of one to ten, personally,i feel that you do not register,at all... if you do register,it is in the tenths of a point(example:0.1),on my scale of being classy!!!!!!!

comments...

i want to remind you of one thing:the Packers' coaching staff spent time at Texas A+M,this off-season... you may want to know why? Texas A+M is where the basics of the read option were taught... to remind you of something:Texas A+M quarterback Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy,as a freshman, last season... it does not mean anything, but to say that the Packers' coaching staff may have some ideas on how to stop the read option... folks, again,it will be interesting to watch the game Sunday afternoon...

seven touchdown passes in a game(NFL record)...

Sid Luckman:Chicago Bears,vs New York Giants,November 14,1943,Adrian Burk:Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins,October 10,1954,George Blanda:Houston Oilers vs New York Titans,November 19,1961,Y.A. Tittle:New York Giants,vs Washington Redskins,October 28,1962,Joe Kapp:Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Colts,September 28,1969,Peyton Manning:Denver Broncos vs Baltimore Ravens,September 5,2013...

NFL news...

Baltimore Ravens play the Denver Broncos, tonight,in the opening game of 2013-2014 NFL season... normally, the game would be in Baltimore, but the Baltimore Orioles would not move their game, scheduled for tonight, from their ballpark(Oriole Park at Camden Yards),which is across the parking lot from the Ravens' stadium(M&T Bank Stadium),in Baltimore... what morons!!!!!!!!!

a letter to Jim Harbaugh...

dear Jim:your quarterback ran for 181 rushing yards,in San Francisco 49ers' 45-31 win against the Packers,in January... now you complain about Clay Matthews' comments about hitting your quarterback,as he runs around... how childish are your comments??? are you the coach who said,"we are the 49ers,we can do whatever we want"??? i know that you are trying to tell the officials, who work the game,Sunday,to look for bad hits on your quarterback... to notify the NFL for that is absolute bull, because you complain about more than one referee's call in Super Bowl XLVII,and then you get an attitude about your team, like they are unbeatable... you remind me of Detroit Lions' head coach Jim Schwartz, and that is not a good place to be,in terms of arrogance, because you are a very good head coach, but your reputation will be tarnished,if your ego gets bigger than the head coaching job with the 49ers... Jim,GROW UP,and SHUT UP,because other teams who play the 49ers will try the same thing that the Packers will try,Sunday:stop your quarterback,so you will be complaining all season, which is not too good for the 49ers,in the long run,or do you want the team to be known,as the San Francisco Forty Whiners, throughout the season... not a good idea,Jimmy boy!!!!!!!

a day at Lambeau Field...

a very beautiful partly cloudy day at Lambeau Field.. with sun going down,it would be a very beautiful time to sit in the bowl of Lambeau Field... just a dream,folks...

commentary...

Sunday afternoon, the Packers play the 49ers,in San Francisco... to be brutally blunt, and honest, the 49ers should be favored, and i will admit that, but i do not, honestly, know how to rate the Packers' overall team:offensively, they will be one of the best offenses,in the NFL... defensively, both teams have flaws, and may give up points to the other team... can the Packers' defense get a pass rush from anyone, besides Clay Matthews??? can the 49ers' defensive secondary stop the Packers' receivers??? the front seven for the 49ers' defense are very, very good, period, but the defensive secondary edge goes to the Packers, ever so slightly;the front seven for the Packers' defense are a good bunch, but not as good as the 49ers' front seven, going into the regular season... the key for both teams will be,who can stop the running game??? there is the edge to the 49ers,in this game??? yes, because last January taught me one thing:respect Colin Kaepernick, and the 49ers' running game... folks,i do respect that...

NFL news...

Brian Cushing, and the Houston Texans agreed to,and he signed,a six year,$55.643 contract extension...

karma comes around,and bites...

linebacker Jonathan Vilma, the main character in the Saints' "bounty" scandal last off-season will miss half of the 2013-2014 NFL season, recovering from knee surgery, when the Saints placed him on the injured/reserve-designated for return list, which means he can not practice for the first six weeks of the season, and can not play for the first eight games, per NFL rules...

a night at Lambeau Field...

i know it is about three am in Green Bay,but even seeing Lambeau Field is still a joy... it is lighted up on the outside, and it should be a beautiful day,75 degrees,in Green Bay today, but Lambeau Field looks beautiful, even at three am,in the morning...

commentary...

the Packers and the San Francisco 49ers play each other next Sunday,September 8th,2013... to tell you how important that game is to the Packers, head coach Mike McCarthy has reminded the team of the number,"579",throughout training camp... if you know that number, you are a true fan of pro football... that number gave the Packers' defense a rather nasty edge throughout training camp, and i guess that number pissed the whole team off... it would piss me off,and it does,as a Packers' shareholder/owner... why,you ask??? one very bad night in January, when the 49ers had 579 total offensive yards, that night(and it was offensive,folks)... whoever wins Sunday will deserve it,but the team does not want to be humiliated again, like in that very bad night,in January...
