cartoon historic trivia...

in the Disney 1942 classic "Bambi",to properly capture the movements of live deer,Disney shipped two live fawns from Maine to California for the animators to look at,during the drawings' portion for the movie...

commentary...

i was going to take a couple days off,and for the most part,i shall do it,but i have to say one more thing about the Packers' game,yesterday... as a shareholder/owner of the Packers, the overall record of the team does not matter,if it is 4-12,8-8,or 12-4,or even better than that, the fight and the pride of what the team really means is what really counts... in the next ten days, this current team should go back, and look at the history of the Packers, when the team under head coach Vince Lombardi had the idea that they never lost a game, regardless of the final score, but they just ran out of time on the game clock, against their opponent... do you understand that little point??? the Packers are a team with the tradition of not giving up until the last absolute second of the game... the Packers will lose again, and quite badly,at times, but this low point,in team history should be a rallying cry for the team for years to come, and someone should remember that the team is built on a tradition of "never give up"(to borrow from the WWE),even when down, because the team will lose again, and quite badly, and yet,it is the way that you will react to the loss... if you lose,do it with fight and real team pride, remembering that things will go wrong, but you never lose, with remembering the real Packers' tradition... that is what really matters, after all

blog statement...

i am taking a couple of days off... i need them...

Packers' game score, and beatdown of the week, with commentary...

Detroit Lions 40,Green Bay Packers 10... i have seen worse scores in the NFL this season, but let me say this:there has not been a worst game than this one, period, and it is their worst game effort, since the 1980's... i could go absolutely psycho on this game, but honestly,i have NEVER been more embarrassed by a team's effort than i am right now... to have fifty six total offensive yards,in the game up to the moment that the Lions was scoring their fortieth point, and the Lions having 563 yards on team offense up to that point, and the Lions turning the ball over four times, missed a chip shot field goal, and kicking the football out of bounds on a kickoff, not once, but twice, and still have that futile of an offense speaks volumes for the Packers... the total yards in the game was:Packers 126,Lions 561,a difference in yardage of 435 yards, and the greatest difference in yardage in a NFL game,in eight years... the Lions scored 37 straight points to decimate the Packers, and they call that a game... what were they watching??? i put the blame for the game plan, and execution,on head coach Mike McCarthy, and defensive coordinator Dom Capers, and to tell you the absolute truth, the Packers did not show up,they stunk, and the coaching staff did not coach at all... you can gripe about losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers all you want, but the team has sunk to an all time low on pure effort, and what has happened to the Packer team pride??? i guess it got off the bus in Green Bay,and stayed there, because they should be really embarrassed by their really disgusting, and simply putrid effort... the Packers will be beaten badly again, and perhaps by a worse score, that happens, you know, but the game today will live in my memory, forever, because of the lack of team effort, and simple team pride... in the next ten days, the team must show some team pride, and play simple basic Packers' football, because this game had no effort,or team pride,period... it appears that the real team never got off the bus(and i do not mean physically),because they never exhibited real Packer fight, and, definitely, never showed Packer team pride...

blog statement...

i will comment on today's Packers' laying a big rotten egg,tonight... i am not happy... that really sucks... it is time to criticize the Packers...
Happy Thanksgiving Day...

commentary...

Matt Flynn will start for the Packers, tomorrow, and the Lions are mad that he "got paid",because of his very, very good game stats, against the Lions,in 2011:480 passing yards, and six touchdown passes,in week seventeen that year... he signed a very big free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks after the 2011 NFL season... my opinion:i do not care a whit about how the Lions feel about that... the simple fact is that the Lions got beat that day in a shootout... to head coach Jim Schwartz, and to the Lions,i say,who cares about you feel like about that game... of the three other teams in the NFC North,i do not have any respect for the Lions, because the team plays rather "dirty",and their head coach is a loudmouth... it still irritates me that Ndamukong Suh stomped Evan Dietrich-Smith,and then basically acted arrogantly about it to the press... even the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings play hard, and, yet,do not play "dirty",so i have a great deal of respect for them, but the Lions just irritate me...

commentary...

honestly, the Lions should be favored Thanksgiving Day,over the Packers... however, they have been undisciplined in their team playing football, and have lost games that, honestly, they should have won going away... example is that Tampa Bay missed two field goals,in the fourth quarter, giving the Lions chances to score a field goal,to tie game at 24,and send game into overtime, and possibly win the game, but quarterback Matthew Stafford threw interception after interception,or he got sacked at critical times to stop drives in fourth quarter... quarterback Aaron Rodgers have a "very slim to none" chance to play against the Lions,so Matt Flynn should start in his place Thursday... the Lions did not have wide receiver Calvin Johnson the last time that they played the Packers, and the Packers won 22-9,but Aaron Rodgers played the last time that the Packers played the Lions... is Thursday going to be like week seventeen of 2011,when both quarterbacks threw for 1,000 yards, combined, and threw an astounding eleven touchdowns, between Matt Flynn and Matthew Stafford,or is the game going to be like a slugfest, that goes down to the last minute??? the Lions' defensive backfield can be had, because they have been like swiss cheese in some of their games, this season, and the Packers' defensive backfield have a league low four interceptions this season... both teams would love to win,but for the Packers, this game is a must win game...

commentary...

i used to run 12-15 miles a day... well, today,i did a lot of things, including getting a hair cut, shaved my unruly beard, did some laundry, and decided to lightly jog... i ran 1/4 mile, and then did some sprints... my health is all right, but i have been very, very unhappy with my appearance, lately,so i decided to clean myself up... i look presentable for Thanksgiving,if i go to my family's house(laughing)... honestly,i really felt very well after running that short distance,so i deeply want to improve my overall health... i used to run to relax, and enjoy my training for obvious reasons, but also for one basic reason,i wanted to be in condition for a marathon, which took a long time to train... i am overweight, and very sad about it... even running that short distance made me smile... people may say that my days as a marathon runner may be over, but honestly,if i do train the right way, they may not be over... honestly, doing five miles right off the proverbial bat would do me more damage, but if i start off very, very slowly, and rebuild my overall stamina over the next couple of years(not rush myself with undue pressure),then i will be ready for any race that i will attempt, because i want to do it the right way,and get very healthy,in the process...

blog statement...

since the Packers next play the Detroit Lions,on Thursday(Thanksgiving day),i will preview the game starting, most likely,tomorrow... note:first place will be on the line, when the Packers(5-5-1)play the Lions(6-5)...

commentary...

no one is happy in Green Bay after today's tie against the Vikings... i am not happy about the tie,as a shareholder/owner of the Packers, but as a fan,i am still smiling, because in the fourth quarter, the Packers came to life offensively,as the Vikings crumbled,offensively... to give the Vikings their proper due, they rushed for 237 yards as a team(Adrian Peterson 146 yards,Toby Gerhart,91 yards),but what got them their 23-7 lead, early in the fourth quarter was the offensive balance that they had,but they dropped critical passes at critical times,to prolong drives late in fourth quarter, and into overtime... Matt Flynn came in for an ineffective Scott Tolzien,in the third quarter, and threw for 218 yards and,i believe,a touchdown in fourth quarter, and did a heck of a job... the Packers' defense was swiss cheese against the run,and had an overall bad day, excluding the fact that they had six quarterback sacks(two by linebacker Clay Matthews),on Vikings' quarterback Christian Ponder, but the Vikings' receivers dropped quite a few passes,in the fourth quarter, and in overtime... Eddie Lacy, for the Packers, had 110 yards on 25 carries, with a touchdown... Tolzien also had a six yard rushing touchdown,to start the scoring, but then went ice cold until he was relieved by Flynn, who was the hero,if there was one for the Packers... this is only the second tie,in 107 meetings between the teams... the other one:November 26,1978:a 10-10 tie in Green Bay...

beatdown of the week...

Arizona Cardinals 40,Indianapolis Colts 11... Colts got stomped and crushed,in Arizona...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Packers 26,Vikings 26,tie... with Chicago, and Detroit losing,it is not so bad... Packers were down 23-7 early in fourth quarter, but came to life and actually led in overtime,26-23... Packers and Lions play for first place,in Detroit,Thanksgiving day... more later...

NFL news...

NFL umpire Roy Ellison has been suspended one game without pay,for cursing at Washington Redskins' offensive tackle Trent Williams... it is not the first time that Ellison has cursed at a NFL player, and it is the first time that a NFL official has been suspended since 1984,when a NFL official has to be restrained from going after fans at a NFL game...

a night at Lambeau Field, and weather forecast for Sunday...

the lights are on,and the pitch is ready for the game Sunday, against the Minnesota Vikings... it looks beautiful... weather forecasts for Green Bay,Saturday night:7 degrees,Sunday:high temperature:21 degrees, game time:12 noon, central time:guess??? my guess:high teens... Brrrrr!!!!!!!

blog statement...

i am taking day off... i am just fine physically, but mentally i am very tired... i probably will write on blog later tonight, but i am not guaranteeing anything... i simply want to do my best on my blogs, and sometimes,i feel that i need time off to temporarily recharge my "batteries"... to tell you the truth,my "batteries" are very low,and i need to go for a walk,or become a couch potato... Couch Potato,it is(laughing),because it is very windy outside!!!!!!!!

correction...

i must have lost a day somewhere... the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination is tomorrow... i have seen so much JFK specials this week that i must have skipped a day... in 1988,the 25th anniversary,i actually saw the coverage by CBS that occurred on November 22,1963... it was sad in 1988,but it must have been devastating to America that day,in 1963,in Dallas,Texas...

REMEMBERING JFK...

Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy(JFK),in Dallas Texas... one of the saddest days in American history,period... personally do not remember too much of that day(i was four that day),but things did change forever, that day... it happened at 12:30 pm. central time,at Dailey Plaza,as he was on his way to give a speech... instead,America cried, and still cries...

Vikings/Packers notes...

honestly,i would say that the Packers would have a edge,at home, against the Minnesota Vikings,if quarterback Aaron Rodgers was playing Sunday, but he is not,so the game will be a dogfight,at Lambeau Field... the big edge for Minnesota is running back Adrian Peterson, who ran for 210 yards,in the last game, against the Packers,at Lambeau Field... however, that is last year, and except for the occasional flash of power,Peterson has been just ordinary running with the football, but to give him proper due,he has not run too much in the second half of their games, because of the Vikings' 2-8 record... expect him to given "the rock" all day,Sunday, because simply the Packers are not too explosive on offense,lately... the Packers' defense is good against the run,and the defensive backfield has forced two turnovers in the last two games, which is not too good, overall(nine turnovers for the season),but improving,lately... the big question mark for both teams is at quarterback-Scott Tolzien, for the Packers, and Christian Ponder, for the Vikings, who has won only won one game all season,as quarterback... this is a must win game for the Packers, and the Vikings would just love to beat the Packers to give the Packers' season the final nail in their playoff coffin, and to destroy their playoff chances... the crowd at Lambeau will be so pumped up,and may be the motivation for the Packers to pound the Vikings into the "Frozen Tundra"... after the season that the Vikings have had, they will be ready to fight to the final second of the game to beat their bitter division rival, and after three straight losses, the Packers will be ready to pound their bitter division rival into the "Frozen Tundra",and save their slim playoff chances... note:i say that, because to get into the playoffs, the Packers need to win their division, and the proverbial table is set to do so,but three tough division games remain, and no matter what the records are,all the teams know that fact,period...

injury update...

Packers' team doctors and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have said the recovery from his broken clavicle has nothing to do with pain tolerance, but has to do with risk assessment, meaning,if he injures it again, that he could miss up to six months... Rodgers has said that he has no pain from running, and throwing the football, and would need,at least, two practice days, before playing in a NFL game...

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

a big if...

even though the Packers have lost three straight games,if they can win the three remaining divisional games on their schedule, they will win the NFC North, because of a possible 5-1 division record...

blog statement...

taking the day off... i am fine... just need a restful day... will start talking about the Minnesota Vikings,tomorrow...

a real joker...

my dear father replied to my e-mail of,"love you very much" with this classic reply,"me too. Pro. i love me very much, too." made me laugh so very hard that i still have a smile... way to go Dad!!!!

comments, along with a night at Lambeau Field...

it must be cold in Green Bay,tonight, but the lights are on,a heated tarp is on the field, and a group of scaffolds are also on the field... my dream would be me sitting in the bowl at Lambeau Field, just once... being a shareholder/owner of the Packers is something that i am very proud of,and that is more important to me,because my overall support of the team really matters to me,period... it is amazing to me to know that i am truly part of Packers' history, just like "Curly" Lambeau, and Vince Lombardi, and wins do matter, but to think of that,it leaves me very proud,and,yet,speechless...

a mention of a special person...

last night,i did not go to bed until three am this morning... i was thinking about the one person that i truly miss every day, besides family... folks,i almost got married once, she was truly special, and she was my only true love... for this, she will remain nameless, but in many ways, she was very unique, and that is an understatement... she had her faults, and i knew every one of them, but she would smile at me,most of the time, and i would see a ray of sunshine that could make a bad day seem not so bad,and at times, things were very tough on me... honestly,i did some things that i truly regret, and feel bad about, even now that caused her a lot of pain, and i am not talking,in no way, about physical pain, but our arguments were legendary, and i would take a long walk... one such walk took me to the east coast, because i truly forgot how to read her emotions... to tell you the truth, she was in such agony, and pain, that she would not tell me that anything was wrong(stiff upper lip,if you know what i mean),but then she would get angry at me because of trivial things, and,(unknown to me) the agony and the pain... i only wish that she would have told me how much pain she was in,because she slept in a hospital bed, even in her apartment... i now know why she was in such agony... she had four operations in a span of eighteen months-two on her back, and stomach(the stabilizing rod in her back, from her first operation, when she was paralyzed, was dissolving into her spinal cord),and she had so many things hurting her(really too many things to count,or even talk about)... the last operation was on her 49th birthday, but they found a cancerous tumor,so they just sewed her back up,and told her that she had months to live... this will be the only time that i will ever talk about this publicly... it is still too painful... people have their own opinions about her,and they are valid,no doubt, but it is my opinion that really matters... i spent literally the last fifty four days of her life with her, eighteen to twenty hours a day,as she slowly wasted away in front of me,but i took care of her every need, except for her nursing help in the morning... the nursing staff did not like me... i did not care, but they respected me,no end... she and i had a private ceremony saying what was in our hearts three days before she died... we held hands and said that we loved each other in a way that is special... the last thing that she ever said to me in person was,"why did you eat my hamburger"(i had taken a bite),but i received a message on my phone,at 2:15 am,saying that she loved me... that was her being special... she died Christmas Day,1999... i miss her still...

a note of honesty...

folks, sometimes things do not go your way,and you need a break from the games,or teams that you root for... last night,i went over to my brother's house, played cribbage(split two games),had dinner, and watched the USC Trojans beat the Stanford Cardinal,20-17... my brother went to the University of Southern California, and it was his turn to go nutty over the game(laughing)... i basically sat there for most of the game, just smiling,if you know what i mean... i actually missed watching the Detroit Red Wings play the New York Islanders(i miss about two games a year,on the average),but i had an option to watch it on tape... i declined to watch it... in fact,i watched only one highlight from the game-the really sick(awesome)goal that Pavel Datsyuk scored to tie game at four, with just under 43 seconds left,to play, then i turned on WWE programming, and got myself lost in basic nonsense for the night... i learned a long time ago that a game is a game, but honestly,it took a lot of stupidity, and humiliation to go through, and my family knows that to be true... so,it is frustrating to watch your teams go without a win for weeks, and yet,you can still laugh, and smile, and there is always tomorrow, next week,or even next year, but you will always be a real fan,or a shareholder/owner,so you can very proud of your teams, and yet still be frustrated... that is the real reason to be a true fan,period...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Giants 27,Packers 13... third straight loss-first time, since 2008,when Aaron Rodgers was first year starter... you are what your record indicates(Packers 5-5)... i must be a real hardcore fan of the teams that i root for, because the last few weeks have been very, very, very tough to be a real fan... you can be a fan when your team is winning, but it takes a real hardcore fan to see the silver lining in real misery,or,in other words,in really tough times...

NFC North game that matter...

Chicago Bears 23,Baltimore Ravens 20,overtime...

beatdowns of the week...

Buffalo Bills 37,New York Jets 14... Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41,Atlanta Falcons 28... both games were not as close as the scores indicate...

NFC North games that matter...

Pittsburgh Steelers 37,Detroit Lions 27... Lions have not beaten the Steelers,in Pittsburgh, since 1955,believe it or not... the Chicago Bears had a severe weather delay for just under two hours early in first quarter, but are playing the Baltimore Ravens,as i type this post...

trivia...

this is a very easy trivia question:what NFL team has only one team decal on their helmets??? tick tock, tick tock... answer:the Pittsburgh Steelers....

Packers/Giants,last year...

last year's game against the Giants was a 38-10 rout,in which then Packers' defensive end Charles Woodson, defensive end Clay Matthews, and then Packers' wide receiver Greg Jennings did not play in the game... without Matthews, and Woodson, the Packers did not have a pass rush, and the Giants' passing attack, and rushing attack went wild, with quarterback Eli Manning throwing three touchdown passes, and the Giants' rushers went through the defensive line like butter, and without Jennings,Aaron Rodgers got sacked like a bag of groceries, and the game was basically over by halftime... i even went shopping at halftime, and just mumbled quite loudly... the Packers got hosed down, and shot like a rabid dog,38-10,that Sunday night, and it was the worst game that the Packers played, last year... (thought that you needed a smile and a chuckle)...

Friday, November 15, 2013

Packers/Giants notes...

the New York Giants will be favored by most pundits, and they really should be,but quarterback Eli Manning has thrown sixteen interceptions(near the top of the NFL)... the Giants have won last three games between the Packers, and Giants, including one playoff game, and yet,the Packers have visited Met Life Stadium the last four years(Giants,2011,2012,and this year;Jets,2010)... the Packers have turned to their third string quarterback,Scott Tolzien, after Aaron Rodgers, and Seneca Wallace went down with injuries,in last two games... Matt Flynn was signed as backup quarterback... defensive end Clay Matthews will play with a padded brace, after playing with a club cast,on his healing broken thumb... Tolzien had the best Packers' rookie passing day(280 yards),in his first NFL game, since a little known castoff second round Atlanta Falcons' draft pick, named Brett Favre, passed for 292 yards in a comeback 24-23 win, over the Cincinnati Bengals, when Don Majkowski(the Magic Man) went down with a broken leg... i am not saying,in no way, that Tolzien is Favre, but facts are facts... Packers have only forced eight turnovers(near the bottom of the NFL),and one of the weaknesses of the Packers' defense, but they are in top twelve in NFL in sacking the quarterback, even without Clay Matthews.... more later...

injury update...

Packers' tight end Jermichael Finley has returned to Green Bay after successful spinal fusion surgery... whether he plays football is not so important, but i deeply hope that he recovers fully from his injury...

Thursday, November 14, 2013

blog statement...

by the way,i will preview the Packers' game against the New York Giants, later tonight,or tomorrow morning... i have a slight headache, and accidently hit the back of my head against my bedroom wall, rolling over,in my sleep, but folks,i am just fine... just taking it very easy the last couple days...

Packers' news...

Packers' defensive end Clay Matthews will wear a padded brace, instead of the club cast,on his healing broken thumb,Sunday, against the New York Giants...

Packers' news...

Packers' tight end Jermichael Finley, who was put on injured reserve recently, will undergo spinal fusion surgery... whether he plays football again is debatable, but i do wish him a speedy recovery...

commentary...

let me tell you a story:as a first year starting quarterback(2008),Aaron Rodgers threw for over 4,000 yards, and the Packers were 6-10,and were 1-7,or 1-8,in losing a game,in which the Packers had a lead in last four minutes, and then lost game... as that season progressed, and i listened to every game on XM,i started to get upset with the overall play of the Packers, but after about four miserable, and heartbreaking losses,i came to realize,as losses mounted, that Rodgers was getting better with every single game, and that he just needed some maturing into that position, and that he would be much better in the coming seasons... the next season, the Packers lost in the playoffs,51-45,to the Arizona Cardinals,in a game that ended with an uncalled facemask penalty/fumble returned for the winning touchdown in overtime, but let me remind you that a Packers' receiver dropped a sure touchdown pass on a bomb from Rodgers on the play before the game ending play... heartbreak, but learning!!!!! in 2010,on a day that will be remembered by me forever, the New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on a play that can be only called "crazy":a game ending punt return touchdown, and 38-31 loss for the Giants, and then an improbable road win by the Detroit Lions who had lost,i believe,a NFL record,26 straight games, over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,in overtime... that night, the Packers lost to New England,31-27,on a,i believe,an over 70 yard punt return,by a guard, that set up the winning touchdown for the Patriots... note:a little known fact:if the Packers had beaten the Patriots, that night, they would have lost the strength tiebreaker advantage that they had over the Giants, and Buccaneers,no matter what they did the rest of the season... they were 8-6 after that night, looking like they were dead to the pundits... in fact, after that game, the pundits were saying that Giants,or Buccaneers had the lock on the sixth playoff seed... what nobody realized at that time was that the Packers only had to win out for the sixth playoff seed that season, because if it went down to the strength of schedule tiebreaker, the Packers had that tiebreaker, but again, nobody realized that... they won the last two games in basic stompings, beating the Giants so bad that the pundits finally realized that the Packers were for real, and then the Packers crushed everybody in the playoffs, and returned an interception for a touchdown in every game, including against the Pittsburgh Steelers,31-25,in Super Bowl XLV... special mention:returning four interceptions for touchdowns, during the NFL playoffs,is a record... the next season, they won 15 games, and were 15-0 in games that they led going into the fourth quarter... a maturation of a starting quarterback...

comment...

the last couple weeks have been a real downer,sports-wise,for me... both teams that i root for are on losing streaks, and i shake my head sadly... this, too, shall pass, but it is a real downer,folks... i just need to laugh... Ha,Ha!!!!!!!! (laughing)...

an anniversary to remember!!!!!!!

let me take you back to November 12,1979: back then,i was running about 12-15 miles a day on good days, and about 8 miles on a bad day,so i,on that day,ran the 1979 Mayor's Cup Marathon(no longer a race),in San Francisco:a marathon from San Francisco to Larkspur,California... i ran over the Golden Gate Bridge,on a bright sunny day... i was eight minutes late for the start, because my mother got lost... i ran the fastest ten miles that i have ever run:56 minutes, six seconds(official time:1:04)... i never stopped that day,and finished in 5:35,and was not last, but close... my mother again got lost, and missed me finishing the race, and showed up about three minutes after i finished the race... i even said that i would never run another marathon, because i was dog tired, and was hurting, but again,i lied(laughing)... what a day!!!!!!!!!!!

Packers' game score,and comments...

Eagles 27,Packers 13... when you have a receiver step out of bounds,as he catches a touchdown pass,in the first half, and you have another receiver drop a controversial touchdown pass,as he goes to the ground,in the fourth period, and your defense collapses, when you need a stop late in fourth quarter, you lose quite badly...

beatdown of the week...

St. Louis Rams 38,Indianapolis Colts 8... total malfunction of Colts' offense, and a stomp of Colts,in Indianapolis...

commentary...

so far,i could get very angry with the Packers' overall play, but, honestly,i am shaking my head sadly, because the Packers' defense have allowed touchdowns on two very odd,and weird plays:a 55 yard touchdown that was tipped by two Packers' defenders that were going for the interception, and ball lands in the Eagles' receiver's hands as he waltzed into the end zone... the other touchdown was a 45 yard touchdown that Packers' defenders lost in the sun,and made a lame attempt at defense... so far,the Packers' offense have been productive between the 20 yard lines, but getting touchdowns have been very anemic... quarterback Seneca Wallace went down with a groin injury(on the first drive of day, like Aaron Rodgers, last week),so third string quarterback Scott Zolkien is in for the Packers... help wanted!!!!!!!!! even the referees are having a tough day,but i can not blame the refs,at all... finally, they score a touchdown... still hope??? will give you score at end of game... everybody is off today, including kicker Mason Crosby, who has missed two field goals already, this afternoon... overall, you can not honestly blame the Packers' defense, except for those two weird plays... unfortunately, they both went for Eagles' touchdowns... Oy vey!!!!!!!

Eagles/Packers notes...

i have to apologize to you,folks... this week on this blog has been very little material on tomorrow's game against the Philadelphia Eagles... i have been trying to figure out how the Packers will beat the Eagles without quarterback Aaron Rodgers... it will not be easy, but backup quarterback Seneca Wallace has been a starter with Seattle, and Cleveland... no disrespect to the Seahawks,or the Browns, but the Packers definitely have more overall talent than those two teams at the time that Wallace started for them,period... the key to beating the Eagles is to contain wide receiver DeSean Jackson, and running back LeSean McCoy,who are two of the best players on offense,in the NFL... put pressure on quarterback Nick Foles to make mistakes/turnovers,and shorten the field for the Packers' offense,as they should struggle somewhat, until Wallace gets into rhythm,offensively... it will be an interesting game to watch,Sunday...

Friday, November 8, 2013

Eagles/Packers matchup...

the Philadelphia Eagles are the Packers' next opponent,Sunday... no disrespect, but the Eagles have shown signs of being quite potent, but honestly, they also have been very inconsistent in scoring points... for example, they lose to Denver,52-20,early in the season, with losses to Dallas,17-3,and to the New York Giants 15-7,in consecutive weeks, then blow away the Oakland Raiders,49-20,in a game that quarterback Nick Foles threw seven touchdown passes against a cheese riddled defense, last week... the Eagles are a team that is simply inconsistent on team offense, and they have a defense that can be good, but also can be had at times... the Packers running game is second in NFL,in yards/per game, and until last week both the offense, and defense were very good, but the defense against the Bears stunk(they could not get off the field on third down, especially late in the fourth quarter)... this will be an interesting game to watch,Sunday:can the Packers' defense stop the Eagles',at times, potent offense, and can the Packers offense score enough points to win game, and can defense help by pressuring the Eagles into turnovers, which is one of the Packers' weaknesses(the defense has only seven turnovers all season)???

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Packers' news...

Packers' defensive ends Clay Matthews(broken thumb),and Nick Perry(broken foot)are expected to play Sunday, against the Philadelphia Eagles... how much is debatable, but the boost in morale will help... even an one handed Matthews(playing with a club cast)is better than much of the NFL(laughing)...

commentary...

pundits are writing off the Packers, because of the broken clavicle of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and honestly, that may be true, but the team will fight with everything that they have until Rodgers comes back, and they will make proud the players, coaches, and shareholders in their fight, for the rest of the season... the Packers are not just one person,no matter who,and how talented that person may be,folks... the honest reason that the Bears won last Monday night is multi-layered:their backup quarterback had more practice time(two weeks, with their bye),they played a very good game, and then Rodgers went down in the first six minutes(not even that soon)in the first quarter, leaving the Packers with a backup who had very little preparation for the Bears,period... you have to give the Bears much credit:they took advantage of the Packers' misadventure... even when the pundits may write off the Packers for the playoffs,i know one thing:the Packers will be one team who no one will want to play(Rodgers is coming back... remember that!!!!!!!!!!),if they do make the playoffs, and watch out, next season, they will be a real beast, and will have a chip on their shoulders even next season... if i was the rest of the NFL,i would not want to play the Packers for a while...

you get what you deserve...

there is an old saying that,"what comes around, goes around"... well,New Orleans Saints' linebacker Jonathan Vilma, poster boy for the Saints' "bounty" scandal last season, who was on short term injured reserve for a knee operation, came off short term injured reserve;played in Sunday's game against the New York Jets(twelve defensive snaps),and now the Saints has put him on season ending injured reserve, basically ending his season, because of that knee... well,Jonathan, you fought an one year suspension, won your case, via it being overturned on appeal, and then you only play twelve defensive snaps the entire year... Way to go,Jonathan!!!!!!!! what a real piece of work!!!!!!! (laughing all the way to the bank)...

Packers' news...

quarterback Aaron Rodgers is out four to six weeks, with a broken clavicle... he could play Thanksgiving Day,against the Detroit Lions, but who knows???

Packers' news...

quarterback Aaron Rodgers confirmed today that he has a fractured collarbone, and said that it is a "significant" injury, and also said that when he returned to the sideline, the reaction of the fans ranks up with the top five "moments" of his career... there is no timetable for his return, but tests will be done this week....

commentary...

this has been a very strange day... as a fan of the Packers, this day really hurts, but as an shareholder/owner of the Packers,i know this happens all the time,so i have to get used to it... quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be back from his injury, and Packers' football will be in six days, against the Philadelphia Eagles,at Lambeau Field... people may count out the Packers for the playoffs, and depending on the severity of Rodgers' injury,i accept it,but i will support my NFL team all the way until the end of this season... to those pundits who say that,i say this, seriously:the Packers, next season, will be a real beast of a team,period... if you think that i am sad, today,i am... however,i am someone who is tough as nails,in many ways, and life goes on,but to tell you the truth,i am proud of being part of the public ownership of the Packers, above all else, and not an injury will EVER change that fact,period... GO PACKERS!!!!!

blog statement...

before i go to bed,i have to say that a game is a game, and the Packers will be fine, but an injury to a Packers' starting quarterback has not happened in a major way, since 1992,when Don Majkowski("the Magic Man")suffered a broken leg, against Cincinnati, and a little known backup named Brett Favre led his first comeback in a 24-23 Packers' win,so i am taken a little aback by tonight... however,i will take a day off tomorrow...

commentary...

as i am a shareholder/owner of the Packers,i can not be any lower than i am,right now,but honestly, tonight makes me realize that the Green and Gold is more than one player, but i own the team,so i need to suck it up,and realize that public ownership is more important than actual winning, because i need and want to support the team... i deeply hope that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not hurt badly, but if he is,i will still loudly support the team,in his absence... however,to tell you the truth,it will take me a few days to get over this night,if you know what i mean... GO PACKERS!!!!!! right now,i need a lot of grit, and patience,period...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Bears 27,Packers 20... to start off:an injury to Aaron Rodgers on first series of game(left-non throwing-shoulder),and the defense really sucked tonight... i hate to admit this, but after Rodgers went out of game, the Bears took over, and played a good game... to say that,it hurts quite bad... Packers on the ground rushing the football were awesome, but with Seneca Wallace, very few yards in the air,and the Bears ran out the clock, with a nine minute drive in the fourth quarter...

comment...

i am very tired of people who do stupid, and moronic stuff, then apologize, but sound like they are reading the apology like a robot, and expect people to really believe that they are really sorry, when in fact, they are only sorry that they got caught, and they are in trouble,so they act remorseful, but honestly, they just feel sorry for themselves...

Karma bites...

i am catching up on things over the weekend... it angers me no end that a NFL player verbally insults another player,on his own team, and then it gets really nasty between them... Richie Incognito,of the Miami Dolphins is already known as the dirtiest player in the NFL,but he has sunk to an all-time low in behaviour... the Dolphins has suspended him indefinitely, and apparently,he did,and said some things to Jonathan Martin(who left the team after a prank)that were out of line, but Incognito then threatened an ESPN reporter for reporting the out of line stuff... well Richie, karma really bites, and you deserve everything that is coming to you,and if everything is true that you did to Martin, you deserve to be banned from the NFL,for life... Martin deserves sympathy, and you deserve banishment, period,in my opinion...

Packers' news...

Bears/Packers,tonight... game 187 in the oldest rivalry in the NFL,and one of the nastiest,too...

special historic note...

New England Patriots 55,Pittsburgh Steelers 31... after tying game at twenty four, the Steelers totally collapsed, and in the game, the defense gave up the most offensive yards,to a opponent(610 yards)ever,in their team history,period...

beatdown of the week...

Philadelphia Eagles 49,Oakland Raiders 20... Eagles' quarterback Nick Foles tied NFL record with seven touchdown passes,as Eagles stomped, and crushed the Raiders...

blog statement...

will try to blog tonight on everything,tonight... slight injury to index finger...

Bears/Packers notes...

the Bears' front four have only three sacks all season(strange, but very true)... the Packers' defense are tied for tenth,in NFL,with twenty three sacks... quarterback Aaron Rodgers is having his best season passing the football, since 2010-2011... the Packers have the third best running attack in the NFL... you have to tighten up your team defense,if you are the Bears, and try to keep the Packers' offense off the field, and then hope that kick returner Devin Hester can bust a kickoff,or punt back for a touchdown, and that is a weakness of the Packers,i have to admit... however, can they do that more than once??? Chicago,it appears, will have their backup quarterback(Josh McCown)starting the game,on Monday, instead of Jay Cutler, but Cutler is getting better(torn groin),and wants to play earlier than scheduled... it will be a typical game of nastiness(war),Monday night, between the teams...

comment...

i normally take off Saturday to prepare for the Sunday slate of games, but later on,i will do some trivia and facts for the Monday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears, and the Packers, throughout the weekend, and early Monday...

injury update,and Packers' news...

braindead me!!!!!!!!!!! Clay Matthews, linebacker of the Packers, will have the pins removed from his broken thumb,on Monday, wear a club cast on his hand, and is not supposed to play against the Bears, but could play, against the Philadelphia Eagles, next week... the Packers-Giants game scheduled for game eleven, has been moved from the Sunday Night Football slot,to an afternoon game,in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs/Denver Broncos game... honestly,no surprise!!!!!!!!

NFL news...

the Jacksonville Jaguars have scored 86 points, and now the NFL has suspended their most explosive wide receiver indefinitely(Justin Blackmon),for violating the NFL drug policy... how are they going to score points, now???

commentary...

this year has gone very fast, and that is a good thing... at least,sometimes... overall,i have had a very good year, but there have been months that were very long and simply miserable... over the past year,i have tried to be consistent in blogging every day, even though some days,i felt like,"oh,no,another day of doing this!!!!!!!!"... i like to be varied even on my hockey blog, which is,sometimes, very very hard to do... so i make commentaries on subjects that interest me even though, they had nothing with the subjects of my blogs, even though i have kept my hockey blog, being hockey related, without mentioning other subjects(almost!!!!!!!!)... i just felt that was just proper... if you read that blog, you know how i honestly feel about NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman... lower than pond scum, and that is being very kind... that reminds me that i do have to update the blog,in some ways!!!!!! that will be done shortly... possibly, this weekend... as a shareholder/owner of the Green Bay Packers,i have a more favorable view of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodelll, but being honest,i have my differences with him,too... however,at least,he did not have a strike,or a lockout that affected NFL games,or had franchises move on his watch... this is very good,period...
