oddest story of being "on the road"...

well,it was Memorial Day Weekend,1995,and i was in Las Vegas,so knowing that i wanted to go back to Sacramento,i had to go south towards Los Angeles, because of the Nevada desert, via I-15,so i get to Barstow, that Saturday night... well,in the morning,i decide to go to Bakersfield, via State Route 58... really bad decision, because i get stuck in the high desert outside Barstow(about 30 miles out) for six and a half hours, and dying of massive thirst,i finally get a six pack of soda, about six hours into the "Death March into Hell"... i drink them(all six)in less than two minutes... finally i get a lift into Bakersfield, and get dropped off at a honky tonk on the outskirts of town... spent the night dancing, and drinking water, and soda... the next morning,i continue my trip to Sacramento up Highway 99(the Highway of Hell,as i call it)...  well,in 2004,or 2005,my mother and i go up to Bakersfield to look at some real estate that uncle Jerry gave her(which was screwed)... Mom decides to take me by the "ranch house",and basically tell me how Jerry screwed up the property... well,we drive past the house, and the next street over, with the parking lot abutting the "ranch house" property is the honky tonk i was at,on that Memorial Day weekend,in 1995... i wondered that night in 1995 how close i was to the "ranch house"... i was about 2,000 yards away from the house, believe it or not...

in my life,part 7...

there are times that some songs remind me of my crazy life "on the road"(1989-1999)... people sometimes ask me if i miss it... oddly,i do,but not for the reasons you honestly may think that i miss it... i do not miss the sleep arraignments every night, the sleeping under a tree, the sleeping in a movie theater, the days never ending with a eternal tan,and so on... strangely, the one thing that i miss is the fact that when i woke up,i was in a different place... seeing the sunrise over the Nevada desert, walking in Zion Canyon with a deer walking by when it is summertime, seeing the Bonneville Salt Flats when hitchhiking from Reno to Salt Lake City, walking through the Hudson River Valley in New York State, getting mugged in White Plains,New York, and having to hitchhike through New York state,Pennsylvania, and Ohio, before getting a bus ticket,in Akron,Ohio, with help from the Catholic Church(had to verify that i got mugged, also with help from the Akron police department),seeing the Grand Canyon,in a blizzard(actually not,but was there),in 1994,speeding at 110 mph,in a 1960's Porsche, going from Reno to Las Vegas, and standing outside the Mirage that same night, hitchhiking from Reno to Albuquerque,in fifteen hours(got a ride in Kingman,Arizona,in fifteen seconds),and went to a triple film fest on Central Avenue, that night, spending four days in bed, with botulism,in Kingman,Arizona(almost died),staying in a wood shack,in Springdale,Utah, shoveling coal, into a heater, watching Super Bowl XXVII,on a small black and white television,on an army cot,and finally arriving in New Haven,Connecticut,Memorial Day Sunday,1994,at 2:15 am.,walking through the town, and then getting cursed at by
a newspaper man,for asking him what time it was... that is what i really miss, the crazy adventures every day,and i could go on,and on... people may not understand why i would miss that, but i do,because that part of being "on the road" was actually fun... i would not do it again, but it was an unique way to travel, and meeting very good people, who would help me along the way...

GIANTS WIN THIRD WORLD SERIES,IN FIVE YEARS!!!!!!!

2014 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS... Madison Bumgarner won three games, one in relief(FIVE INNINGS)... third World Series title,in five seasons... Madison Bumgarner World Series MVP...

in my life,part 6...

folks,i have insomnia,tonight... it does suck... it will be a very hard morning, because i will be very tired... i am listening to country music, but to be honest,it is doing nothing to calm me down... i am body tired, but mind is going 1,000 mph,if you know what i mean...i am finally yawning, but is it enough to get me to lie down??? not yet,but getting there... thinking about some very loving people who have passed away, and i miss them all... they will remain unnamed, but they always have a very special piece of my heart... when they died,a piece of my heart went with their loving spirits, and i miss them all... they all taught me something very special, and without them,i am not the same person that i am,today, without a doubt... i can be very nice, and most of the time,i am,but folks,i am a Shaw, and Shaws are tougher than nails, and they can spit fire, when provoked... i was taught a long time ago not to take any crud from anyone, and to family and dear friends,i will take criticism from them gladly, because they have my best interest in heart, and mind, but to other people,i could care not a whit what other people think about me,because i am a Shaw, and us Shaws do not take any crud from anyone, period!!!!!! isn't that right, folks???

commentary...

since this is the bye week for the Packers,i am taking a few days off from blogging, but if there is breaking news,or something i want to talk about,i will do some blogging... it looks like Thursday,i will be back ramping up for "BEARS WEEK",next week... as i will say many times next week,DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!! that felt good(laughing)...

commentary...

since the Packers are on the bye week, and after a horrible game,i am taking a few days off... not many, but i am very disappointed in the way that the Packers played last night... i know that it is only a game... since the Packers do not normally play like that, and that the NFC North division is still up for grabs, the game against the Chicago Bears is critical to the season... the Detroit Lions is still only a game ahead of the Packers, and the NFC North division crown will be decided on the last week of the 2015 NFL season, when the Lions visit Lambeau Field,to play the Packers... i still like the Packers' chances for the NFC North division crown... like the 1994 San Francisco 49ers,who got beat by the Philadelphia Eagles,40-8,the 49ers rebounded to win Super Bowl XXIX... i am not saying that the Packers will win Super Bowl XLIX,but anything is still possible... they must play better,on both sides of the football, because they did very little on team offense, and the defense looked like swiss cheese,in the horrible second half... they have played very well this season,at times, but there have been times that the Packers have played like a pee wee team, like in the opening week loss, against Seattle, and, now, against New Orleans... defensive injuries are not an excuse, and the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers are not an excuse,either... they need to go back to square one, realize that it was just a very bad game(second half),come back from their bye week with a big chip on their collective shoulders, beat the Chicago Bears(put them out of their misery),and work hard to get a smile on their collective faces, because the Saints' game was a real stinker,period...

Packers' game score,and commentary...

New Orleans Saints 44,Packers 23... Packers simply got out-played by the Saints,in second half... two interceptions of Aaron Rodgers gave the Saints momentum to blow the Packers out of the Superdome,tonight... Saints dominated second half, and the Packers' defense had a very bad second half... two onside kicks failed(one in each half)for the Packers...  ugliest half of football,by Packers,in years... numbers do lie tonight:Aaron Rodgers threw for 418 yards, but nothing worked... even though i do not put the Packers up for the beatdown of the week, this game was so bad in the second half,i really did consider doing just that... i need to forget this toad of a game, and it may take a few days... oh well, you can not win them all!!!!!!!!

NFC North Division game...

Minnesota Vikings 19,Tampa Bay 13,overtime... a fumble return by Anthony Barr, for a touchdown in the first twenty seconds of overtime, ended game for the Vikings... the Vikings tied game with a field goal,as time ran out in regulation...

beatdowns of the week...

New England Patriots 51,Chicago Bears 23... with quarterback Tom Brady throwing five touchdown passes, and the Patriots up 45-7,the Patriots called off the dogs,basically...three New England touchdowns in a minute late in second quarter, ballooned lead from 17-7,to 38-7(two Brady touchdown passes, for the Bears, and a 15 yard fumble return for a touchdown, along with a great punt return by Julian Edelman gave the Patriots a short field on the second Brady touchdown, and then a Bears' turnover basically ended the game,at halftime)... Buffalo Bills 43,New York Jets 23... six turnovers by both quarterbacks,Geno Smith, and Michael Vick basically gave the game to the Bills... only an inept offense,by the Bills, early on in game even gave the Jets life, but with six turnovers(three interceptions by Smith, and two fumbles with an interception by Vick)finally doomed the Jets, who are 1-7,losing seven straight games... any odds of Rex Ryan staying through the year,as head coach??? at this time, long long odds... any takers??? i did not think so...

comeback of the week...

Lions 22,Falcons 21... after being down by 21 points,Lions' defense shut down the Falcons' offense, with help from the Falcons' coaching staff, and a major snafu(on a run in Detroit territory,a holding call on the Falcons),in last two minutes of game, that gave the Lions time, for a drive for winning field goal,as time ran out on the clock...

note...

there are two beatdowns of the week,so i will not note them, until they both end...

in London,NFC North division game...

Detroit Lions 22,Atlanta Falcons 21... for the second straight week, the Lions get the breaks,in the last two minutes of game... on winning field goal, the Lions, who missed a field with four seconds left, got a second chance with a delay of game penalty, and made winning field goal, from 48 yards out(Matt Prater)...

USC Trojans game score...

Utah Utes 24,USC Trojans 21.... USC blew it!!!!!!!! bad execution on a pitch and step out of bounds,on 4th and 2,by USC,with just over two minutes to play, directly led to winning one yard touchdown pass by Utah, and doomed the Trojans...

blog statement...

the day before NFL games on Sunday,i am usually very tired... now, with the Packers playing on Sunday night, against the Saints, this week,i will take some extra time to unwind... i will note the usual stuff, except the commentary on the game Sunday night, because i usually go to bed early, but i will be up late, because of a WWE pay per view, which i will see on replay after the Packers' game,on Sunday night,so i will write commentary,Monday morning,it looks like, right now...

correction to Packers/Saints game notes...

i have brainfreeze... the last time the Packers played the Saints was in 2012,when the Packers beat the Saints,at Lambeau Field,28-27,in an old-fashioned shootout... Aaron Rodgers has an streak of 192 passes without an interception, dating back to game one, this season, against the Seattle Seahawks... the six game streak without an interception, matches the Packers' team record, set by Bart Starr,in 1964... all-time series is 16-7,in favor of the Packers... the team record of consecutive passes without an interception is 294,by Bart Starr,in 1964-1965... the last six games between the teams have been split...

Packers/Saints game notes...

when you have an offense who ranks in the top ten in NFL,in many respects, why are you 2-4??? Drew Brees is a very good quarterback, but has had moments of inconsistent play(example:interception deep in Saints' territory, leading to Detroit Lions' winning touchdown, last week),in a 24-23 Lions' win... when you have a quarterback who can light you up offensively(the same thing can be said for Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers),you have potential to outscore anybody... the big reason why the Saints are 2-4 is that their defense gives up too many yards, and points at critical times... the last time these teams played, the Packers won 42-34(week one),in 2011,at Lambeau Field, when Clay Matthews, and company stopped the Saints on fourth down,on a goal line stand... the Packers' defense shortly crumpled, when All Pro Nick Collins injured his neck,in week three, and never was the same,in 2011,even though the Packers went 15-1... both offenses should light it up,but the game will decided,by turnovers, and which defense shines brightest,on Sunday, under the Superdome,in New Orleans... both defenses will put to the test,early... when you have Jimmy Graham.Marques Colston, and Drew Brees, for the Saints, and Jordy Nelson,Randall Cobb, and Aaron Rodgers, for the Packers, you have a wild, hot night, coming up in New Orleans... interesting night, isn't it???

will preview Packers/New Orleans Saints game,tomorrow... it is a Sunday Night Football game,so i will note score, but possibly will not comment on game, until Monday morning, because of possible fatigue...

delayed return for Brett...

the return to Lambeau Field for Brett Favre has been delayed again... however, this time,it is not either party's fault... he wanted to do it with Bart Starr, but Starr had two strokes, and a heart attack,in September, but Starr(who is recovering nicely),is still not healthy enough to do that with Favre... prayers and my thoughts go out to him and his family...

a beating in Chicago,and commentary...

there is a report that a tailgating (unnamed, for now)Bears' fan got into a fight before,or during, the game,Sunday... well,he is in critical condition,in a Chicago hospital... thoughts, and prayers go out to him,and his family... as for beating someone for tailgating, there should be zero tolerance for that, and i really hope they catch the piece of scum who beat up the guy,period... this has nothing to do with being a fan... there has been three separate incidents of fights resulting:in one case,in Los Angeles(Bryan Stow,a San Francisco Giants' fan was the victim),a prison term for the scum, and one resulting in partial paralysis for the victim, and now,this... it does really suck, and hope that they catch the scum who did this... by the way,i may say that i want to "bury" opponents on the field,by beating them quite badly(45-0,for example),but it is only a game, not life or death... STOP THIS!!!!!!!!!

a day in Lambeau Field, and commentary...

an overcast, but happy day,at Lambeau Field...  workers doing maintenance on the "Frozen Tundra",during my look at the pitch... wishing that i am watching the Bears get stomped into the "Frozen Tundra",and smiling inside the bowl of Lambeau Field... what a dream... "hate DA BEARS",and by the way,"DA BEARS" STILL SUCK!!!!!!! reminder:the week after the bye week is "BEARS WEEK",so expect me to be a little extra nasty that week... as a shareholder/owner,i honestly really enjoy being a little extra nasty, those two weeks,of the season,no matter what the records are,at the time of the games...  by the way,i "hate" every division opponent, but the Bears draw out a little more animosity,in me...

blog statement...

510 touchdowns for a guy with true class...

Brett Favre threw 508 touchdowns in 302 games, and Peyton Manning threw 510 touchdowns in 246 games... have to give Peyton Manning much credit for his NFL record... he is incredible, period, and a person with true class... i may not like the Denver Broncos too much, but my respect for Peyton goes deeper than just football and yet,his PAPA JOHN'S commercials are funny, but surely brutal... have to laugh at him,too... Congratulations,Peyton!!!!!!!!!!

NFL history...

Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes,on 22 of 26 passing, for 318 yards... he also broke Brett Favre's NFL record of 508 touchdown passes, and now has 510 touchdown passes for his NFL career... Congratulations,Peyton!!!!!!!!!!

Packers' note...

to tell you how hot Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is:he was 19 of 22(86.4 completion percentage),for 255 yards, and three touchdowns, today, against the Carolina Panthers... so far,he has 18 touchdown passes, and only one interception this season...

beatdown of the week...

Indianapolis Colts 27,Cincinnati Bengals 0... Colts get their first shutout in six years,as Cincinnati imploded,on offense...

NFC North division games...

Detroit Lions 24,New Orleans Saints 23... quarterback Drew Brees threw an interception in his own end of field, giving the Lions a very short field, with about three minutes left, and the Lions score a touchdown, with just less than two minutes left, and then New Orleans went nowhere,as the Lions iced the game, with their defense... Miami Dolphins 27,Chicago Bears 14... Bears drop to 0-3 at home,as Miami simply beat them, and making the Bears look pathetic... "hate DA BEARS"...

comeback of the week....

Buffalo Bills 17,Minnesota Vikings 16... Buffalo wins with a last second touchdown,to Sammy Watkins, from Kyle Orton...

Packers' game score...

Packers 38,Panthers 17... Packers crush the Panthers... went up 28-3,at halftime, and 38-3,before both teams called off the dogs,in a rout... enough said...

Saturday, October 18, 2014

USC Trojans' game score,and comments...

USC Trojans 56,Colorado Buffaloes 28... USC quarterback Cody Kessler had seven touchdown passes,a USC Trojan school record,in a game that was 28-0,after one period, and was a real stomping... FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!

Packers' trivia...

who was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers,at the time of the 1996 NFC Championship game, between the Packers and the Panthers??? hint:he is still a coach of one of the teams,in tomorrow's game between the teams... answer:Packers' defensive coordinator Dom Capers was the head coach of the then second year Panthers...

Packers/Panthers game notes...

can Cam Newton and the Panthers outscore the Packers' offense??? yes, only with defensive help... short fields throughout the game, and the game will be won by Carolina... turnovers and Carolina have a chance to win... the last time the Panthers played the Packers,it was Newton's third(oops, made a mistake)career game(Packers were Super Bowl XLV Champions),in 2011,and the Packers went down 13-0,and then bounced back in the second half, outscoring the Panthers,30-10,to win game,30-23,with a final 84 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers,to Jordy Nelson,to ice game... former Packers' cornerback Charles Woodson had two interceptions, and former All Pro Nick Collins played in his last game(injured his neck on a tackle),and even though the Packers went 15-1,in 2011,the defense never recovered that year... i remember that game, because Newton became a star with that game... last year, the Panthers' defense was one of the NFL's best, but this year the defense has not gelled, like last year, but has potential to gel,but two defensives main cogs(Frank Alexander, and Greg Hardy)will not play, because of off field issues... both teams' running games have potential to tear up both defenses... Packers' key on defense:make Cam Newton beat you,by stopping their potent running attack... with him recovering(still)from off-season ankle surgery,he is running less than normal, but ran for 107 yards last week, and had his best overall game,in 2014... Panthers' key on defense:cover the Packers' wide receivers like a glove, and try to rattle quarterback Aaron Rodgers,by giving him no time to pass, sacking him as many times as you can... keep both offenses off the field, and make the game a slugfest, and it will be an interesting game to watch... in other words,i expect a shootout, but the team with a critical turnover,at the right time, has the advantage to win the game... it may come down to a field goal, and both field goal kickers are very good... Packers are tough to beat at home,so who knows???

comments,and Packers' trivia...

i am having trouble with my cable connections, and it is supposed to be fixed tomorrow,so i will be back later tonight,as i plan on previewing the Panthers/Packers game on Sunday... note:the Packers lead the all-time series 8-4,including a Packers' 30-13 win in the 1996 NFC Championship game...

USC Trojans game score

USC 28,Arizona 26... sorry,folks... went to bed early, and never checked score... my brother told me USC won in a close game... he was right... USC stopped Arizona on two point try after touchdown with 1:44 left,in game, and iced the win for the Trojans... FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!

Sunday, October 12, 2014

commentary...

the Packers were down 24-17,with about ten minutes to play, against the Dolphins...the Packers' defense were wearing thin, because of the heat, and had not stopped the Dolphins most of the day,and then the Packers went on an eleven play-68 yard drive for a short field goal,in just over five minutes,by Mason Crosby, then the Packers' defense forced the Dolphins into punting, finally, and then Aaron Rodgers had a drive for Packers' lore,an eleven play-60 play drive that ended with a game-winning four yard touchdown pass,to Andrew Quarless, with three seconds left... play of the drive:a fake spike play to wide receiver Davante Adams down to the four yard line, that set up the final play to Quarless....

NFC North division scores...

Detroit Lions 17,Minnesota Vikings 3... Chicago Bears 27,Atlanta Falcons 13...

update on NFC North scores...

the NFC North division scores will be up at the conclusion of the Chicago Bears/Atlanta Falcons game this afternoon...

beatdown of the week...

Baltimore Ravens 48,Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17... if Joe Flacco throws five touchdowns in first seventeen minutes of game time, which he did,you deserve the dubious honor of being a beatdown of the week victim...

Packers/Dolphins game notes...

Green Bay is 1-6,against the Dolphins,in Miami, but they beat the Dolphins the last time they played in Miami(34-24,in Mike McCarthy's first season,as head coach(October 22,2006),and face former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin,as he is Dolphins' head coach, for the first time... actually not much of a preview(because of very few games played between the teams),but six of the last nine games between the teams have been decided by single digits... trivia:what NFL team has a winning percentage of .792,in the month of October(19-5),since 2008,which leads the NFL in winning percentage, during that time span??? answer:the Green Bay Packers...

RIP,Shane Haley...

a Pennsylvania couple made a "bucket list" for their unborn baby boy,and did it before he was born.. Dan and Jenna Haley announced Shane Michael Haley earlier this morning, and his tragic death shortly after birth... Shane was born with a terminal condition called anencephaly,a brain defect that causes the infant to be born without parts of his brain and skull... well,Shane was baptized, and lived fifty minutes, and died peacefully surrounded by family... his parents said that his life was his own,and they were thankful for the time that they had with Shane... prayers and condolences for the family, and, especially,Shane!!!!!!

Packers' trivia...

quarterback Aaron Rodgers,Sunday, will play in his 100th career game, against the Miami Dolphins...who has the best career passer rating,in NFL history,at 105.4??? answer:Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers... who is second on that list??? answer:Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning,at 97.4...

Packers/Dolphins:a tidbit of history between the teams

i will preview the Packers/Dolphins game,tomorrow... it will take time, because they have played thirteen times(Miami winning ten of the games, but the Packers have won three of the last five games)...

commentary...

after the Buffalo Bills' win against the Detroit Lions,on Sunday(which i am happy about),former Detroit Lions' head coach, and Bills' defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz(a real scumbag) got carried off the field,in Detroit... for him,it was total disrespect,of his former team, and i can empathize with some of the Lions' players comments, ripping the Bills' defensive coordinator, for the stunt...my opinion:Schwartz was a punk as Lions' head coach, and now this:people do not change their stripes... like i said earlier,a real scumbag...

comments...

on October 19,2011,four days before Christian Ponder debuted as quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, against the Green Bay Packers,i welcomed Ponder to a,"pounding, sacks, interceptions, and many more fumbles,in his NFL career"... as of last Thursday,Ponder has beaten the Packers exactly once, and is now the Vikings' backup quarterback... did i nail that, folks??? YES,I DID!!!!!!!!

a quarterback reminder to the rest of the NFL...

in an interview,Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers reminded everyone that the Packers' offense can get better... in the 42-10 stomping of the Minnesota Vikings,Rodgers threw three touchdowns, for only 156 yards,in only three quarters, but the offense did sputter in the second quarter, with five straight three and outs,on their resume for the night, and still won 42-10... to the rest of the NFC North division, that is outright scary,in the Packers' potential,on team offense, let alone the rest of the NFL...

beatdown of the week

normally,i do not put the Packers as a team eligible for the beatdown of the week(that way,i do not seem to be a "homer",in that respect)... so far, there are no teams eligible for beatdown of the week, because most of the games are very close...

comeback of the week...

Cleveland Browns 29,Tennessee Titans 28... down 28-3,in third period,Cleveland simply stun the Titans with a last minute touchdown, and for the win... note:a comeback of a year candidate...

just a good game...

Dallas Cowboys 20,Houston Texans 17,overtime... Dallas is 4-1....

NFC North Division games...

Buffalo Bills 17,Detroit Lions,14... Carolina Panthers 31,Chicago Bears 24... Packers and Lions are tied for NFC North division lead, but because of win against the Packers,Lions are in first place, but the records are the same,at 3-2... however, the losses by the Lions, and Bears, does help the Packers... right now,the NFC North division crown may come down to December 28th,when the Lions visit Lambeau Field, and the Packers,on the last day of the regular season...

blog statement...

sorry,folks... have not been on today, because the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears are in tight games, deep in the fourth quarter...

USC Trojans game score...

Arizona State Sun Devils 38,USC Trojans 34... two touchdown passes in last 2:43 of game doomed USC-a 73 yard touchdown pass, and a 46 yard "Hail Mary",with seven seconds left.... a mixup on the USC defense also helped,on the "Hail Mary",Arizona State, who has beaten USC three of the last four years, including a 62-41 win that cost Lane Kiffin his head coaching job, while at the airport, after USC landed... it is the first win, since 1999,for Arizona State,in Los Angeles...

in my life,part 5...

this day has been very emotional for me... there are some days that make me literally cry,and yet, smile, because i have been on the verge of tears most of the day... i really wish that i could really explain how i feel right now, because maybe you could really understand who i am... this is one of those days... i woke up this morning hearing small footsteps, and hearing my mother's voice in my ear(which does not happen too often)... honestly,it has always bothered me how my mother passed away, and yet,she lived life to the fullest, and she passed away the only way that she could,on her own terms, and like my dearly departed uncle once said to me,she wanted me to be all right, and she would be very proud of me,right now... i miss her deeply, for i am her son, like her,i am very hard, but have a good heart, and there are things that i do that remind me of her every single day... i believe that i may be more like her than i want to admit to myself, and that is a very good thing, isn't it???

commentary...

if i told you that quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for only 156 yards, what would you say,if i also told you that the Packers won 42-10,over the Vikings, and wide receiver Jordy Nelson caught only one pass,in the entire game??? you would say,"what happened to the Packers?"... well,in those(only)twelve pass completions that Aaron Rodgers had(for three quarters),he had three touchdown passes, and that one pass to Jordy Nelson was a 66 yard route buster,to go up,14-0,after one period, then Julius Peppers became the only player in NFL history,to have 100+ sacks, and ten interceptions, when he ran a interception back for six from 49 yards out,to make it,21-0,then Davante Adams put icing on the cake, before halftime, with the third touchdown pass, from eleven yards out, caught, from Rodgers(his 200th,and Adams' first career touchdown catch),to go up 28-0 at halftime... in the third period, running back Eddie Lacy put the rout to bed, with two hard run touchdowns, and he had 105 yards,on thirteen carries,to make it 42-0,after three periods... question:who leads the NFL(right now),in touchdown passes caught, with six??? answer:Randall Cobb, who opened up the scoring, with an eight yard touchdown catch;his numbers, three catches, for only thirty four yards, for the game... that is how quarterback Aaron Rodgers could have so-so numbers, and still blow away the Vikings,42-10...

in my life,part 4...

sometimes,i wish i was back in my childhood... growing up back in the late 60's,and the 70's,honestly was a real trip... the music was spectacular, and i miss those times, because i still listen to the music nowadays, and i get misty eyed... classic Motown, classic rock, and country music was simply great... anything from the Beatles,Rolling Stones,Led Zeppelin, and many other groups make me simply yearn for those times... remembering some strange and odd people, and simply walking around the city,on some days, makes me remember some great times... that time may be gone, but still sorely missed... living on five plus acres, and very few people around, and having acres of nothing but green fields to look at... remembering Bakersfield, and walking around the neighborhood, being a kid,at that time was just great... being a paperboy, once in a while, with my father, waking up at 2:30 am,going to Winchell's donut shop, and going to Dewars some Sundays, and sitting at the counter, and not forgetting spilling orange sherbet in the car,and on me,as it melted... going to New Jersey/NYC,for my graduation from high school, running fifteen miles on a humid and hot day around Sparta,New Jersey... going to old Yankee Stadium, and before that,on another day walking down Broadway,in NYC,on a hot humid summer day... what memories... i miss those times... i really do...

Breaking news,and comments...

NFL.com is reporting that rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will be inactive for tonight's game, against the Packers... Christian Ponder will start... note:nothing against Ponder, but Bridgewater has a more accurate arm,on long throws, and has a cannon for an arm,so i do not know what the game will be like, but Ponder was almost traded during the offseason,or rumored to be out of Minnesota,at that time...

politics,and the NFL...

the FCC(Federal Communications Commission),and U.S. House delegate from D.C. are trying to force the NFL into changing the Redskins' name... the FCC has a petition before it wanting to punish broadcasters, announcers, and the NFL,under using the statutes of obscene content,in saying that the name,"Redskins",is a racial slur... in a related post,U.S. House delegate Eleanor Holmes-Norton(D-D.C.)has introduced a bill tying the (wanted)forced name change, into taking away the NFL's tax breaks that they get, from the I.R.S....

Vikings/Packers game notes...

Packers lead all time series with the Vikings,56-49-2(1-1 in playoffs),with the Packers leading in games,at Lambeau Field,21-17-2... in last five games,at Lambeau Field, the Packers are 4-0-1,and 7-1-1,in last nine games... quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a 71.4% completion percentage(277 of 388 passes),with 27 touchdown passes, and only four interceptions, and a passer rating of 116.8... under head coach Mike McCarthy, the Packers are 11-4-1,against the Vikings... note:i normally put both teams together,on my notes, but this week,i thought that it would be proper to separate the teams, because i needed to refresh my knowledge on the Vikings, because of the roster moves,by the Vikings, over the last six weeks...
