comment...

here is to a much better 2015 for me,and my family... love you all,always...

NFL explanation of Suh's reversal of suspension...

here is the explanation from the NFL on the reversal of Suh's suspension:they changed the rule,in 2014,regarding player safety, and if the player does not commit a player safety violation for thirty two games, they have a clean slate, and are regarded as a first time violator... so Suh got a free stomp and got away on a technicality... so his history of stomping Packers' players does not count a whit,period... my opinion:to me,i say,it is worth an one finger salute, and is a crock of manure...

commentary...

i feel very badly for the Chicago Bears' 91 year old matriarch Virginia McCaskey... even though,i do not like the Chicago Bears, she deserves a winning team-one that does not stink up Soldier Field... the "Monsters of the Midway" are not there, but like the fan base, they should be better, and reward them with a team that is tougher than rock, but the front office really stinks, and it trickles down to the coaches and players... DA BEARS DO SUCK,but a team in Chicago should be like the city and be tougher than rock, and this season, they stunk up every game that they played, even the ones that they won... i "hate" the Bears, and i do not wish them any luck, but they should be better...

commentary...

i respect the NFL no end,but the reversal on the Ndamukong Suh one game suspension for stepping on the leg and calf of Aaron Rodgers, during the Packers' 30-20 win, over the Detroit Lions is simply a hot steaming pile of (name the animal) manure, and then fined him $70,000,instead... again,it stinks like rancid garbage... well,NFL,what has to happen to suspend him??? during an interview, today,Rodgers said that he thought he had popped his Achilles, when Suh stepped on his leg and calf, not once, but twice... does Suh has to really injure someone seriously,to get suspended??? $70,000 is a slap on the wrist to Suh,in the era of millionaires playing in the NFL... the NFL player safety department, and the NFLPA should be ashamed for this garbage, because Suh stomped on then-Packers' guard Evan Dietrich-Smith,in 2011,during the Thanksgiving day game, between the teams, and, from a report today, had to be called(he was in his car, when called)back to the press conference that the Lions held,to arrogantly apologize to "his fans" for his behaviour... he then acted like that the so called "apology" was not serious to him,and he simply acted like he did not care, for that stomp,in 2011... like i said earlier, what a crock!!!!!!!! shame on you,NFL...

polar bears would not like Green Bay...

i am sorry about one thing:not mentioning Lambeau Field,in the last few weeks... it is very cold there right now... it will get down to 3 below zero, with a wind chill of(right now)of minus 13 degrees below zero... stick me in a freezer!!!!!! anybody for a side of frozen Ray(laughing)... simply said,i thought it was cold here... it is balmy compared to Green Bay,right now... BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

correction...

oops,i forget to mention that we also play the Dallas Cowboys,at Lambeau Field, next year...

an oddity in NFL scheduling...

the Packers play the AFC,and NFC West, plus the Carolina Panthers, next year... in a very strange twist, they play both the Raiders, and 49ers,in Oakland, and San Francisco...

Suh wins appeal...

Ndamukong Suh wins his appeal, and will play this Sunday, against the Dallas Cowboys... he will be fined $70,000,instead... my opinion:what a crock!!!!!!!

comeback of the year...

Cleveland Browns 29,Tennessee Titans 28... down 28-3,in the second quarter, the Browns scored the last 26 points,in game... it is the biggest comeback in Browns' history,so it is my pick for comeback of the year... it happened,in week 5,on October 5,2014...

beatdown of the year...

St. Louis Rams 52,Oakland Raiders 0... this is the beatdown of the year... it happened on November 30th,2014...

NFL news...

Ndamukong Suh has been suspended for the wild card playoff game, against the Dallas Cowboys, for stomping twice on the injured calf,of Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, during the Lions' 30-20 loss to the Packers... he stomped on then-Packers' guard Evan Dietrich-Smith during a Thanksgiving Day game, between the Packers and the Lions,a few years ago,so he has a history of doing that, against the Packers... he will appeal...

NFL coaching changes,and personal comments...

Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Mike Smith;New York Jets fired head coach Rex Ryan(general manager John Idzik was also canned,in New York);DA BEARS fired Marc Trestman(general manager Phil Emery was also canned,in Chicago)... about the Bears, really TOO BAD(smirking, with sarcasm)!!!!!! DA BEARS DID SUCK ROCK... people repeat, the LAST PLACE Chicago Bears YAY!!!!!!!

comments...

am still smiling about yesterday's 30-20 Packers' win, over the Detroit Lions... so "Idaho Spud" time most of the day,but Black Monday,is today... coaches get fired, and i will update the coaching changes,today...

commentary...

twenty four is a great number... the Detroit Lions came into town thinking that they had the Packers' number, but they faced a pissed off Aaron Rodgers,a battering ram in Eddie Lacy, who ran for an even 100 yards, and an underrated Packers' defense, who came to play, from opening kickoff,to final gun... Rodgers threw for a paltry 226 yards, but his play was clutch, throwing two touchdown passes to Randall Cobb, and sneaked in a third touchdown, from the one yard line... Micah Hyde had a 55 yard punt return for the opening Packers' score... Rodgers came out in the second half, after tweaking his calf injury, late in the first half, and,i believe,he told the doctors at halftime that he was not coming out of the game,no matter what... that is ultimate grit,period... like i said earlier, twenty four is a great number,tonight...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Green Bay Packers 30,Detroit Lions 20... PACKERS WIN NFC NORTH FOR THE FOURTH STRAIGHT TIME... SECOND SEED IN NFC... Aaron Rodgers showed a ton of grit, refusing to quit, when he entered game, early in second half, after tweaking calf muscle... reminded me of the "ol' gunslinger",Brett Favre...

Packers' in-game news...

Aaron Rodgers back in game... Packers up 21-14...

Packers' in-game news...

Matt Flynn started second half in Lions/Packers game... Aaron Rodgers tweaked calf muscle, late in first half, while throwing touchdown pass, and came out in uniform out of locker room,so who knows??? Packers up 14-7... Aaron Rodgers warming up for the Packers...

beatdown of the week...

Dallas Cowboys 44,Washington Redskins 17... Cowboys stomped Redskins...

NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 13,Chicago Bears 9... DA BEARS DEAD LAST IN THE NFC NORTH DIVISION!!!!! DA BEARS SUCKED ROCK THIS SEASON!!!!!!!

weather forecast for Lions/Packers game...

game time weather for Lions/Packers game:partly cloudy,26 degrees, wind chill:14 degrees... welcome to the "Frozen Tundra",Lions!!!!!!

comments...

all twelve on my all-time defensive players' list were players who would love to "take" your head off, when they played, and are/were gentlemen off the field...

my rankings of the all-time defense...

this is my rankings of the all-time defensive players... it is not in order, from one to twelve:Alan Page,Dick Butkis,Ray Nitchske,Deion "Prime Time" Sanders,Warren Sapp,Dick "Night Train" Lane,Ronnie Lott,Mel Blount,Joe "Mean Joe" Greene,Randy White,Bob Lilly, and David "Deacon" Jones... i could go on and on,but those players that i named i admire the most...

USC Trojans game score(Holiday Bowl)...

USC Trojans 45,Nebraska Cornhuskers 42...Trojans finish 9-4,for 2014 season...

Packers' playoff seedings...

if the Packers beat the Detroit Lions, they will get the number two seed in the NFC... if the Seattle Seahawks lose to the St. Louis Rams, for the second time, this season(highly unlikely),and the Packers beat the Lions, the Packers will get the top seed in the NFC... if the Packers lose to the Lions, they will get the sixth seed, because of tiebreaker scenarios...

Santa in the NFL...

Aaron Rodgers,of the Packers, and Justin Forsett,of the Baltimore Ravens played Santa this year giving,in the case of Rodgers, his offensive linemen, and both his backup quarterbacks,Samsung 55 inch HDTV's... in the case of Forsett, who made the veteran minimum,he gave his offensive lineman, and his tight end,the same gift... both players are total class,period...

blog statement...

taking a few days off from blogging... Christmas Break for me,unless breaking news happens...

Lions/Packers game notes...

the Detroit Lions are a very good team,no doubt... i have to admit that, even though i wish they were not,but the Lions' team offense can score points, with Golden Tate,Calvin Johnson,a very good running/passing attack, with Matthew Stafford as the quarterback... Ndamukong Suh and a very good defense face the Packers' potent offense... Aaron Rodgers,Jordy Nelson,Randall Cobb,Eddie Lacy lead a very potent offense, and Clay Matthews,Julius Peppers,Casey Hayward,Micah Hyde, and Sam Shields lead an underrated Packers' defense against the Lions... special teams favor the Lions, but Micah Hyde, who ran a punt back 75 yards, earlier this season, and maybe Randall Cobb, who ran a kickoff back 108 yards,at Lambeau Field, against New Orleans, opening night,in 2012,could be a neutralizer to the Lions' advantage... however, both teams have struggled with their kicking/punting this season(with Detroit going through four kickers, this season, and Green Bay having a couple punts/kicks blocked, with a couple missed field goals, from Mason Crosby,recently)... Limit return yardage(not giving either team a short field,to start their potent offenses),and turnovers will matter,Sunday afternoon... to be honest,Detroit can definitely win,Sunday, with a couple of breaks, but Aaron Rodgers have had only seven turnovers, this season(five interceptions, and only has fumbled twice)... of his five interceptions, they have come in only three games, this season... Matthew Stafford can be erratic at quarterback with the long ball,so the Packers must rush the passer(hit Stafford enough times to rattle him),and at critical times, sack him,and "bury" him into the "Frozen Tundra" a few times... winner gets NFC North division, and first round bye... note:Packers have averaged 37.5 points/per game,at Lambeau Field, where they are 7-0,this season...

Lions/Packers game notes:beginning...

Sunday afternoon, the Lions and Packers meet in the longest continuous rivalry in the NFL,going back to 1930,when the Lions were based,in Portsmouth,Ohio... it is that way, because in 1983,the player strike that year cancelled both of the Packers/Chicago Bears games... the dope sheet, for every NFL game, that the Packers put out comes out every Tuesday night...

Monday, December 22, 2014

commentary...

you can not win for anything,in Chicago,if you are DA BEARS,because everything has gone wrong for DA BEARS,this season... they benched quarterback Jay Cutler for Jimmy Clausen last week... unfortunately, for DA BEARS,and Clausen,in particular:he has a concussion,so Cutler will start this week... let the circus begin... what fun,DA BEARS!!!!!!!!!

blog statement...

i am happy that the Packers won yesterday... so,i am going to take the day off... will preview the Detroit Lions/Packers game, starting tomorrow... "Idaho Spud" time... the last few days physically have been brutal, because i have been feeling like manure, and i need the day to recuperate...

Sunday, December 21, 2014

beatdown of the week...

Dallas Cowboys 42,Indianapolis Colts 7... not even close, score should have been uglier... both starting quarterbacks were out of the game, with Dallas up 35-0,so game was a rout early on... it deserves beatdown of the week...

comments...

both the Detroit Lions, and the Packers have clinched playoff berths, this weekend,so winner, next week, gets a home playoff game, and the loser of next week's game gets wild card spot... you know who i am rooting for, but, honestly,i respect the Lions no end,but i "hate" the Lions... the Packers have clinched a playoff spot in the last six years, winning Super Bowl XLV,in 2010-2011...

a division crown,with a losing record...

Carolina Panthers/Atlanta Falcons, next week, for NFC South division crown...

NFC North division games...

Detroit Lions 20,Chicago Bears 14... Miami Dolphins 37,Minnesota Vikings 35... Vikings lose on a blocked punt in end zone for a safety, with 41 seconds left,in game...

NFC North division pier six brawl for crown, next week...

Detroit Lions/Packers,at Lambeau Field, for the NFL North Division crown, next week... Lions are 0-20,at Lambeau Field, since 1991(0-23,in Wisconsin, since 1991,longest streak intact between two teams,in NFL history)...

note...

all the NFC North division games are not over,so when they are,i will update them...

Packers' game score.and commentary...

Packers 20,Buccaneers 3... Packers dominate game,out-gaining Buccaneers 439 yards to 163 yards, and even though the Buccaneers' defense played well,in the red zone, not allowing the Packers a passing touchdown, until the final one yard game clinching touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson from Aaron Rodgers, the Packers' defense also played very well... at the time that the score was 10-0,Packers,in the second period, the Packers had 235 net yards, and the Buccaneers had zero net yards(not a misprint),so it was a typical Packers' grind out win... not a pretty win,but a win is a win...

comeback of the week...

San Diego Chargers 38,San Francisco 49ers 35... down by 21 at the half, and by 14 in the fourth quarter, the Chargers downed the pathetic 49ers,in overtime... the 49ers ran for an unbelievable 355 yards but passed for a paltry 114 yards,as the Chargers refused to go away, and had a great fourth quarter,as they came back in a great game...

a family memorial my way...

it is a quarter to one in the morning, and normally,i would be cutting logs,in my sleep(i do not snore),but memories keep flooding through my mind, and i am in tears... this night is turning into a night that i never will forget, because i am beginning to really miss the people that have passed away, and those people were very very special to me,and this is my way to really remember all those special people... they all had a very special place in my heart... everyone from my grandfather Ray,grandmother Helen "NANA",my maternal grandfather Jack,my uncle "Bud" Walt,my "UNC" Bob,my soulmate Beverly,my mother Ahnawake,my friend Martha... to all of them,i say that i truly miss all of them... i have a mannerism from each of them... simple respect to all of them in this special way...

another one in the big Lambeau Field in the sky...

former Wisconsin Badger, and Green Bay Packers' middle linebacker Deral "the Little Bull" Teteak died Thursday,in Naples,Florida at age 85... while at Wisconsin,he was a member of the 1951 "hard rocks" defense, and while at Green Bay,he played a hard nosed defense,at middle linebacker, during the lean years of the Packers,in the 1950's... even though the team was so-so those years,he recalled in a 2007 interview, that after a victory the New York Giants,in 1952,the fans gave them champagne, beer, and wine,in celebration of the win... he was the first to wear number 66,made famous later,by Ray Nitschke... condolences to his family...

commentary...

Aaron Rodgers:17/42 for 185 yards, two interceptions, last week against the Buffalo Bills, and a 34.3 passer rating...  how pissed will he be,Sunday, against the 2-12 Tampa Bay Buccaneers??? anybody's guess??? all i can say that i would not like to play against him,Sunday... good luck,Buccaneers,Sunday... going to be fun to watch!!!!!!!

going to the big Lambeau Field in the sky...

i have been absolutely out to lunch for the last few weeks... i am very sorry,folks... there was many players on the 1960's Packers that get much more attention than Frederick Thurston, aka "Fuzzy"... Thurston was an offensive lineman, and along with Jerry Kramer, who led the famed Packer Sweep*,devastating everyone in sight, for most of the decade, under head coach Vince Lombardi... the Packer Sweep* was,"the one play that we must get to work",in the immortal words of Coach Lombardi, and that meant for the most part,Thurston and Kramer coming around the end of the line like locomotives going full speed... to be able to see that sight must have mind blowing, and scary,to a cornerback and/or safety... well,Fuzzy died on December 14,2014... i deeply tip my hat to a real Packer great... *i put the words in with capital letters, out of respect for Thurston,today...

for a laugh...

Green Bay Packers' running back Eddie Lacy has missed practice, the last two days, because contact irritation with his eyes... Meanwhile, the NFLPA has approved using a seeing eye dog for Lacy, during the game with the Buccaneers*... Lacy will be ready for the game... *i found this tidbit on a satirical website... sometimes, football is too serious,so that made me my day...

Packers/Buccaneers game notes...

the last time the Packers played in Tampa Bay,in 2009,quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in his second year starting for the Packers, the Packers were 4-3,had a punt blocked for a touchdown, and Rodgers threw his only interception returned for a touchdown,"pick six",in his career(so far),and lost,38-28,in an ugly game, for Packers' fans... i remember the game, because it was on national television, but i remember that the Packers did not play well... well, however, that was in 2009,five years ago,and both teams have gone in opposite directions, since then...the starting quarterback, and defensive back, for the Buccaneers who picked off Rodgers are not in Tampa Bay... Josh Freeman played one game for the Minnesota Vikings, and then retired(at least was unsigned),and Will Allen plays in Pittsburgh... the Packers have won a Super Bowl(Super Bowl XLV)and the quarterback has won a NFL MVP(2011)... the Packers will be pissed off after last week's game against the Buffalo Bills... before you think that i do not respect the Buccaneers, you are DEAD wrong, they do have talent, with wide receivers Mike Evans, and veteran Vincent Jackson, running back Doug Martin, who ran last year, against the Oakland Raiders for close to 200 yards(who doesn't against the Raiders???,sorry,Raider Nation),but he has not been the "jackhammer",that he was last season, and a castoff, from the Chicago Bears last season,in quarterback Josh McCown(now, could the Bears use him??? YES!!!!)... the Buccaneers do have a very young, and talented, defense, but they are facing a team in the Packers that really can not look past the Buccaneers, and yet, they have their own destiny,in their own collective hand,by winning their next two games... win out,and they are the third seed in NFC,at least, depending on how the chips fall, the next two weeks...

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

UGH,DA BEARS!!!!!!

you know that the Chicago Bears have given up on their 2014 season, when they announced that quarterback Jay Cutler is being benched in favor of journeyman quarterback Jimmy Clausen, this week, against the Detroit Lions... Cutler is owed $15 million dollars, guaranteed, unless some other team signs Cutler to a first string contract, and the difference of that contract, and the Bears' contract comes out to $15 million... let's say that a team desperate for a quarterback gets Cutler in a trade,or Cutler is released, the team who signs him a new contract(say:$10 million),the Bears are on the hook for another $5 million, next year... he was also signed to a $126 million contract,by the Bears,recently... what a team in disarray!!!!!!!

comment...

i will preview the Packers/Tampa Bay Buccaneers game,tomorrow...

commentary...

in an interview with NFL.com,Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is good friends with Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler, actually stuck up for his friend, saying that he was "baffled"by Bears' offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer's comments about Cutler, and if Packers' offensive coordinator Tom Clements had said the same thing about him, which is very unlikely,he(Rodgers)would have major problems with it... in the last few days,i have listened to the Chicago media, and they are throwing everyone under the proverbial bus, from the Bears' ownership, the general manager, all the coaches and to the players... as for Cutler,Kromer did him dead wrong, and to complain about the quarterback for the Bears' offensive woes, when (Kromer)is the offensive coordinator is a piece of chicken manure... i may not like Cutler, and the "hated" DA BEARS,but to tell you the truth, general manager Phil Emery, head coach Marc Trestman, and especially offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer should go back to unemployment, right now... at 5-9,the Bears are in disarray:to lose,at home,31-15,to a team in the New Orleans Saints, who lost,41-10,to the pathetic Carolina Panthers, last week,is a total disgrace... there are two fan bases who are known to be rabid fans:the Packers' fans, and the Bears' fans(oops,i may add a third fan base:the Browns' fans),but for this commentary, that is moot... as a fan/shareholder/owner of the Packers,i actually feel sorry for the Bears' fan base:they are watching a very bad team imploding,in front of their eyes, and what is sad is that the Bears' players, coaches, and organization do not seem to give a whit, about putting a quality team on the field... for the fans,i respectfully bow in shame, for you go to Soldier Field, every game day,and honestly sit through three hours plus of total manure,at least, for this year... however,it does not mean that the Packers and its fan base does not want to "bury" the Bears, every year... the same can be said for the Bears, and its fan base... it just is a real shame that the Bears organization does not care a whit about the team, and now the team is in total disarray...

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

good luck,Tampa Bay,Sunday...

if i was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,i would hope that Aaron Rodgers is not so "frustrated" this Sunday, because the Packers' offense did not play well, and Rodgers is very upset with the way that he played last Sunday... actually,i feel very bad for the Buccaneers, because they will face a very pissed off quarterback, and a team who will have a huge collective chip on their shoulders to prove to the NFL that even though Buffalo did play their best game, the Packers are a team to really fear,in the playoff mix, even if they are on the road... everyone,on the Packers, are going to be really fired up to prove a real point to everyone,Sunday... unfortunately, the Buccaneers are the "basic roadkill" that the Packers are going to put to waste... good luck,Tampa Bay,Sunday...

family memories...

i simply do not know what to say... i am not in the Christmas spirit, not because of the obvious commercial stuff, which i really do not like one bit... i saw a Christmas commercial this year actually before Halloween, and i flipped it an one finger salute... people have truly forgotten what Christmas really means,or they just do not care a whit about it... i could go on about the birth of Jesus Christ, and what happened shortly after the birth, but people know that story, but for me,it means family being around, and joking around with one another, with stories that may not have much meaning to people outside the family, but crack the family up in stitches laughing at the stupidity of family members, who were braindead when they did idiotic things, like me falling spread eagle across the table at another holiday,or Dad chasing Kelly's horse in his Jeep Rambler,in front of the "Big House",one morning, while i went to school,or Mike falling onto ice, when skating backwards trying to impress a girl, and saying,"oh... my beautiful face",as Mom took him to the hospital for stitches... (he still denies it,but i was in the car, when he said it,over and over),or Mom doing "the human fly",when drunk, and she climbed the refrigerator, one night... those stories still make me smile and quietly laugh to myself... what a family!!!!!!!!

last night's NFC North division game...

New Orleans Saints 31,Chicago Bears 15... Bears are officially in hibernation... they basically waved the white flag,on this season,by giving up 24 straight points, and trailed 24-0,after three periods... the Bears have not been the same team, since the end of the first half of the first game, between the Packers and the Bears, when they did lead 17-14,and were stopped by the Packers on the half foot line(Ha Ha Clinton-Dix made the play,by dragging the Bears' receiver away from the goal line),as time ran out in the half... the Packers then scored 24 straight points to win the game going away,38-17... DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!!!

NFC North division games...

Detroit 16,Minnesota 14... New Orleans Saints/Chicago Bears,Monday night...

commentary...

note:i wanted to do this tomorrow morning, but i need to get a real bad taste out of my mouth,so here it is:it was a defensive masterpiece by the Bills, picking off quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice, and forced a fumble in last two minutes, that was ruled(correctly),in the Packers' end zone... in last two minutes of game,if fumble is not recovered by fumbling player behind the line of scrimmage(Rodgers),and then touched by recovering team(Packers-Eddie Lacy)the football is dead, the moment the football is touched, meaning if the football is in the end zone, then it is a safety... i learned something that i did not know,today... a 75 yard punt return by Marcus Thigpen gave the Bills their only touchdown, and a very bad day from quarterback Aaron Rodgers(17/42,for 185 yards),gave the Bills the win... eating crow does not taste good, but i give a hat tip to the very good Buffalo Bills team defense... a second note:last week, they did play the very good team defense against Denver Broncos' quarterback, but last week, they lost to the Broncos,24-17...

beatdown of the week...

Cincinnati Bengals 30,Cleveland Browns 0... Browns' quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for eighty yards passing,in his NFL starting debut, and Cincinnati steamrolled the Browns...

Packers' game score,and comments

Buffalo Bills 21,Packers 13... the Packers' offense imploded(a ton of dropped passes),and that Buffalo team defense, special teams, and just enough offense beat the Packers... commentary, tomorrow morning...

in my life,part 8...

i lost my soulmate fifteen years ago,Christmas Day... people have said to me that,"you should get over it"... losing someone anytime is very, very tough, and you never "get over it"... even though,i smile every Christmas Day,i really have my silent moments of pain every Christmas, usually in the morning, before i get up,or Christmas Eve,when i look at the moon, because i truly remember looking at the moon, getting out of the Christmas Mass, and wanting to walk two miles, over to the hospital, and saying,"Merry Christmas",to my soulmate, and yet, after five plus hours of standing in Mass,my legs were so sore that i almost did not make the six blocks to my studio apartment, that night... to those people, who think losing someone you dearly love is not tough, and that you can "just get over it",simply try it... it honestly gets better to the point that you can go on,but the pain never, ever subsides, one bit... to my family,i say that i dearly love you all... always have, always will!!!!!!!!

Mariota wins Heisman...

NO SURPRISE!!!! Oregon Ducks' quarterback Marcus Mariota has won the Heisman Trophy...

commentary...

i have no sympathy for suspended Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson... first of all,he did something really stupid to his son,in disciplining him... that is understood... however, why is it when NFL players get into trouble, they act like they are entitled to play, and act like idiotic divas??? i have talked earlier of Ray Rice, and his wife,Janay, who are ultimate divas,period.. now,Peterson, who is acting like a crybaby, and says that he has already made $8 million this year(while on commissioner's exempt list),why doesn't he retire, and do other things, and whines about loving football,"because he loves to play football"... he is not entitled to play while acting like a stupid moronic idiot... playing football,in the NFL,is not a right, but a privilege,no matter how talented you are... he will go to federal court to try to have his suspension overturned, like the players in the Saints' "bounty" case,in 2011...  if i was him(and i thank God,i am not),i would take the six game suspension,do what the NFL wants him to do,and act like a adult, not a spoiled rotten entitled four year old... his son could teach him a lesson,in being humble... in my opinion, his son has more class than he does... as a football player,Peterson is a phenom, but as a man,he is lower than pond scum... i have lost all respect for him... what a waste of a person!!!!!!

Packers/Bills game notes...

the Packers do not play the Bills too often,so there is not much to talk about, but the Bills' defensive front seven is probably one of the best in the NFL,and yet the Bills' offense is one of the weakest(Kyle Orton is a game manager),except for Sammy Watkins, who can fly,and their running attack that can be dangerous... you must protect Aaron Rodgers and keep him upright, and honestly that will not be easy, but the Packers' offensive line, most of this season, has been a very strong protective unit... if Aaron Rodgers is not harassed too much and can keep himself upright, the Packers should win,but i have seen every game of the Bills, and i have been impressed with that very good defense, and that is an compliment that i honestly do not give out too often... with Watkins, who may be a rookie, but has an amazing leaping ability, and hands like glue, the Bills have a legitimate chance to beat the Packers,if Rodgers, and company make a few mistakes... this may seem like a sure win on the schedule, but Buffalo defensively reminds me of the Detroit Lions' defense... same kind of talent, but can the Bills' offense keep pace with the Packers' offense, which is as lethal as they come,if given a few stops on defense... Packers should not take Buffalo lightly, and they should be very upset, with that second half, against the Atlanta Falcons, giving up over 300 yards up in that half,so they will play with that big collective chip on their shoulders... it should be interesting to watch the game Sunday...

an odd tidbit...

the Packers have never won in Buffalo... in their all-time series with the Bills, they are 4-2,at Lambeau Field, but 0-5,in Buffalo...

commentary...

honestly,i really have no sympathy for Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer... he had complained about quarterback Jay Cutler, and the offensive woes,in Chicago,to NFL Media, then lied about it,so he literally cried, and said that he was sorry,in front of the team... wahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! boo hoo!!!!!!!!!!! who cares??? there is a lot of things that simply stink more than a crying offensive coordinator that has done a very, very poor(some people say a very terrible)job,in Chicago, whose job may not be there in the offseason... there are rumors of a house cleaning from the general manager, coaches, and some players going,in the offseason,in Chicago... what is that stench in Chicago??? DA BEARS!!!!!!

NFL historic trivia...

there was NFL history last night... in six of the seven games,at Lambeau Field(all Packers' wins,7-0,at Lambeau),the Packers have had a lead of,at least,23 points,at halftime... that is dominance at home....

Monday, December 8, 2014

commentary...

for the whiners who did not like the way the Packers played the second half of tonight's game, number one:the Falcons were down 31-7,at halftime, and Matt Ryan and Julio Jones got hot in the second half, number two:Aaron Rodgers, and the Packers' running game did not panic and just finished game, and number three:the Falcons came to play, and played a very good second half, even though they are 5-8,they are still tied with the pathetic New Orleans Saints, for the NFC South division lead(they are percentage points ahead of them)... simply,a win is a win, whether it is by one point,or fifty points,it is a win... so,in the words of quarterback Aaron Rodgers:RELAX!!!!!!!!

Packers' game score,commentary,and team history...

Packers 43,Falcons 37... Falcons' wide receiver Julio Jones had eleven catches for 259 yards(Falcons' record),and most against the Packers in team history, breaking the total of Detroit Lions' wide receiver Calvin Johnson who had 244 receiving yards against the Packers... fortunately, for the Packers,it was not enough, because Aaron Rodgers threw for 327 yards, and had touchdown passes, and, again, with no interceptions, but the Packers' running attack had 180 yards on the ground(Eddie Lacy, and James Starks had 148 yards, with Starks going for 42 yards,on one dash,to basically ice game for the Packers... Packers are 10-3,so far, this season... note:Rodgers tied Brett Favre with his 68th win in 100 career starts...  in those games,Rodgers has 222 touchdowns, with 54 interceptions... Favre had 194 touchdowns, with 104 interceptions,in his first 100 career starts... Rodgers has had 27,520 passing yards(100 career starts),and Favre had 24,079 passing yards,in his first 100 career starts...

comment...

Falcons/Packers,tonight... YAY!!!!!!!!

comment...

anybody want playoff tickets,49ers? you will be needed them to sit in the stadium... if you think i am being cold, yes i am cold as ice!!!!!!!!! so be it!!!! i am annoyed at the arrogance of the 49ers,and to see them get their comeuppance make me feel good...

historical trivia...

St. Louis Rams 24,Washington Redskins 0... the Rams shut down the Redskins for their second straight shutout... it is the first time that the Rams has done that, since 1945...

Packers/Falcons game commentary...

i said earlier to my father that the Atlanta Falcons have a very good team offense, and they have been inconsistent all year, and so they are 5-7,so far, this season... because of the 41-10 stomping of the New Orleans Saints, earlier today,by the Carolina Panthers(noted earlier on this blog),the Falcons are a first place team in the really pathetic NFC South,so the Packers can not take this team lightly... Matt Ryan,Julio Jones,Roddy White, and company will be looking to upset the Packers at Lambeau Field, tomorrow night(Monday Night Football)-the 22nd straight year that the Packers will appear on,and their only time this season(second longest streak in NFL)... the only problem that the Falcons' team defense have tomorrow night is stopping Aaron Rodgers,Jordy Nelson,Randall Cobb,Eddie Lacy, and company on a potent Packers' team offense who is scoring close to forty points/per game,at Lambeau Field, this season, and the Packers are 6-0,at Lambeau Field, this season... all i will say is good luck!!!!!!!

seventy three years ago,remember....

NEVER FORGET PEARL HARBOR!!!!!!!! remember what happened seventy three years ago,on a brilliant Sunday,as Imperial Japanese troops bombed the U.S. fleet,in 1941... 2,403 people were killed, and 1,178 people were wounded... President Franklin Delano Roosevelt(FDR)said in a speech,i believe, that was in front of Congress, the next night,it was,"a date that will live in infamy"... so,i remember it with a respectful, and very deep hat tip to those people,to this very day...

NFC North division games...

Detroit Lions 34,Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17... Detroit handle their business in beating the Buccaneers... Minnesota Vikings 30,New York Jets 24,overtime... wide receiver Jarius Wright outran everyone on an eighty seven yard pass(a screen pass),from quarterback Teddy Bridgewater...

comeback of the week...

Indianapolis Colts 25,Cleveland Browns 24... a last minute touchdown,and interception,by the Colts,iced the game,for the Colts...

beatdowns of the week

Carolina Panthers 41,New Orleans Saints 10... Panthers smash and demolish the Saints,in New Orleans... New York Giants 36,Tennessee Titans 7... Giants devastate Titans, with near-perfect game plan, except for a touchdown returned for a touchdown(a pick six),by Giants' quarterback Eli Manning...

NFC North division game...

Dallas Cowboys 41,Chicago Bears 28... Bears go into hibernation as the Cowboys pound them in Soldier Field,Thursday night... as i say(people repeat),DA BEARS SUCK,DA BEARS SUCK,and finally,DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!!

Saturday, December 6, 2014

trivia...

Brett Favre was 68-32 in first 100 starts... that is fact... if Aaron Rodgers can win Monday night,in his 100th career start, what will be his career record, after 100 career starts??? if you thought Favre was better than Rodgers, you would be wrong... that is a hint... answer:he would be 68-32,in his 100 career starts-exactly the same as the "old gunslinger"... one area that Rodgers may be better, not throwing interceptions...

Falcons/Packers game preview...

will preview Falcons/Packers game tonight...

commentary...

every pundit is discounting the Falcons in winning against the Packers, but honestly even though the Falcons' record is 5-7,the Falcons' victory against the Arizona Cardinals(29-17,last week) was a very good one,out-playing the Cardinals throughout the game... the all-time record between the Falcons and Falcons is(Packers,14-12),with the Packers winning the last three games between the teams,so even though the pundits are saying that basically the Packers are going to win Monday night(and i expect it),i never would take Matt Ryan, and company lightly, and i really do not think that after the Packers have put themselves into the favorite's position(pundit's opinion)for the top seed in the NFC playoffs, they are going to stumble this week,at home, where they are 6-0,this season... question:are the Packers taking the Falcons lightly? answer:i do not think so...

i will preview the Falcons/Packers game,on Monday night, later today... i am waking up... stay tuned...

commentary...

i am sorry, but i have to vent a little bit... you may have been surprised by my blog headline,"WORST GAME PLAYED BY A NFL TEAM THIS SEASON"(Seattle 19,San Francisco 3)... well, offensively,it was,but let us go back to last Thanksgiving Day's game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers(Detroit 40,Green Bay 10)... folks, not a bright highlight of many seasons for the Packers, but there is a comparison between the two games, besides both being on Thanksgiving Day... both offenses scored exactly the same amount of points(three),and both losing teams sucked rock, those days... both offenses had putrid days;Green Bay had their backup in(not to make excuses),and only in both teams' last drives, did they both get a real putrid 100+ yards of total offense... now for the main difference:because the score should have been basically 40-3,instead of 19-3,the 49ers' team defense showed up... the offense basically did not want to play the game,PERIOD... Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers' team offense was the absolute worst offense for a single game that i have seen in years, because Kaepernick, and company looked like dead dog meat, even at halftime, because they,as a team, simply refused to do anything but throw it short, and you are not going to beat the Seahawks,by repeating screen passes, and forgetting to rush the football, after halftime... at least,Green Bay had injuries to make an excuse of last year's game, including playing their fourth quarterback in seven games, and the Packers did not make excuses... they played horrible, but the 49ers simply refused to do anything but look like dead dog meat, all afternoon...

yesterday's USC Trojans game score...

USC Trojans 49,Notre Dame Fighting Irish 14... yesterday, the Trojans stomped the fight out of the Irish... quarterback Cody Kessler threw six touchdown passes,in the win,for the Trojans...

NFC North division game...

Minnesota Vikings 31,Carolina Panthers 13... in a rarity,Vikings block two punts, and both blocked punts returned for a touchdown...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Packers 26,Patriots 21... what a game!!!!!!!!! who says that the Packers are soft,i happen to disagree 1,000%... Davante Adams had six catches for 121 yards... commentary later tomorrow...

historical note...

if New England beats the Packers today, they will become the first team since the 1970 Detroit Lions to beat four division leaders this late in the season, when they played them...

comeback of the week...

Jacksonville Jaguars 25,New York Giants 24... a late field goal wins it for Jacksonville... Giants drop to 3-9...

beatdown of the week...

St. Louis Rams 52,Oakland Raiders 0... Rams' first shutout since 2006,when they beat the Raiders,20-0...

a note of strange happenings...

on this last day of November this year,i woke up with a headache, from sinus pain... it has been a very strange night, and very strange year, because i am listening to jazz music, and some blues music, which even though i have a very good music collection,i do not listen to it very often... listening to jazz music, and blues music does not make it strange, but i have thought about people who i adored growing up,and people who i so deeply miss from my heart... odd thing is when i started this,i was listening to a song by John Coltrane, one of my all-time favorite artists, and i recognized it right off... it was not one of his well known ballads, but people, what a horn he played(tenor saxophone)!!!!!!! for some reason, for most of the last eighteen hours,i have had the television off,and i have just done small things, thought about people who i deeply love, and loved(just being quiet,as i put it),and to tell you the honest truth,i have really enjoyed the quiet time... this night reminded, and still reminds me of who i really am(oh my,someone at Sirius XM must love John Coltrane, because there is the second ballad,of his,in last three on Real Jazz, now three of four)... waking up like i have, minus the headache, reminds of the time with my mother in Cayucos, because i used to put on some Coltrane, just sit down,be quiet, like i am now,and just remember what and who i loved... right now, they should just rename Real Jazz Real Coltrane, because they are playing a ton of Coltrane this hour, which i deeply love... i started to write this, talking about people who i deeply miss, and love, and yet, this is the greatest way to wake up,and i only wish that i woke up every day like this, because this is a day that i will always remember... i have the biggest smile, and memories are flowing(and tears)... folks,i do not care a whit... maybe, just maybe,i needed this from my heart,so i am enjoying this no end,and with that little nugget of truth,i simply end this... this is strange, folks, but i love it...

Saturday, November 29, 2014

note...

in the regular season, the Patriots hold a 5-4 advantage,in games played, but do not forget that the Packers beat the Patriots,35-21,in Super Bowl XXXI,so both teams have won five games apiece, but the Packers won the Lombardi Trophy, playing the Patriots... that may not have anything to do with Sunday's game, but it still makes me smile...

Friday, November 28, 2014

blog statement...

i will take the rest of the day off... more previewing of Sunday's afternoon's Patriots/Packers game,tomorrow... "Idaho Spud" time...

comment about DA BEARS(they really do)...

i am not the only one who thinks that "DA BEARS SUCK",even a columnist for the Detroit Free Press says,in his column that "the Chicago Bears stink"... one, two, three(people repeat):DA BEARS SUCK,DA BEARS SUCK,and finally one more time,DA BEARS SUCK...

NFL news...

Ray Rice wins his appeal of his indefinite suspension from the NFL,basically claiming double jeopardy in saying that the NFL suspended him twice in handing a two game suspension, then lengthening his suspension to an indefinite one... problem is that, right now,he is not on a NFL team's roster(Baltimore Ravens released him after his indefinite suspension)... my opinion:that may change but both he,and his wife Janay, are total divas, and does any NFL team want to deal with that circus??? i do not think so,but who honestly cares???

WORST GAME PLAYED BY A NFL TEAM THIS SEASON...

Seattle Seahawks 19,San Francisco 49ers 3... the 49ers looked like they just did not care... they came out flatter than a crepe, and played so bad that they honestly looked like they were disinterested in playing the game, and the fans did boo lustily, and often,as the 49ers did absolutely nothing, but trying to talk smack, pick fights all night long, and play like a pee wee football team... it is simply the absolute worst game played by a NFL team this season,PERIOD!!!!!!!

NFC North division game(Thanksgiving Day)...

Detroit Lions 34,Chicago Bears 17... Bears implode after a 14-3 first quarter lead,go into hibernation for season... Bears need major help, with winning remaining four games, and two or three teams losing at least two games,to make the playoffs... they are 5-7,and looking like dead bear meat... as for the Lions, they looked sharp, and a very good team... it appears like December 28th,at Lambeau Field(week seventeen),when the Lions visit the Packers, will be for the NFC North division crown...

Thursday, November 27, 2014

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

commentary...

the early game tomorrow(Thanksgiving Day) is the Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions,in Detroit... so,because of Thanksgiving,i will note the NFC North division game score, tomorrow night... i really do not care who wins, but because of the division leaders, being the Packers, the Bears could do the Packers a big favor by beating the Lions... what a dilemma??? i "hate" both teams,so i will watch the game, and holding my nose at the same time...

Patriots/Packers game notes....

early in the season, pundits harped on the fact that both the Patriots, and the Packers were playing terrible, including me... unfortunately for them, both teams have shut the pundits up... funny thing is that both teams are white hot(New England winning seven games in a row,and the Packers winning seven of the last eight games),both teams have scored fifty points in a game(New England and the Packers have scored fifty+ points against the Chicago Bears... poor Bears(laughing)...) both offenses are very good;both quarterbacks(Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady)have won Super Bowls(Rodgers:one, and Brady:three);both defensive backfields are very very good;both front sevens are very good, and both rushing and passing attacks are very good... they are mirror images of each other in almost every way... both quarterbacks can light up the scoreboard on any team, and finally both field goal kickers are very good... who would you pick??? the chic pick are the Patriots,by most of the pundits, but the Packers needs the game more than the Patriots, because the Detroit Lions are a game behind the Packers in the NFC North Division... the Patriots are number one in home winning percentage, and the Packers are in the top three,in same category,so the game is at Lambeau Field... the last game between the teams (31-27,Patriots-2010) actually came down to a lineman running a kickoff back about 65 yards,to run out the clock... flip a coin,folks... Sunday afternoon should be a barnburner,or it could be a slugfest??? who really knows???

prayers for Eric...

prayers to Kansas City Chiefs' safety Eric Berry, and his family,as he goes to a lymphoma specialist for an examination of a mass in his chest... his season is over, and this has nothing to do with football... sincerely, get well,Eric....

beatdown of the week...

Buffalo Bills 38,New York Jets 3... yesterday,i was wrong!!!!!!! the Bills crushed the New York Jets,as the Jets played their, possibly, worst game of their season...the Bills sacked Geno Smith, and Michael Vick five times, allowed 165 passing yards by both quarterbacks, had one interception, and scored 31 straight points to end the game,in a 38-3 rout that deserved the beatdown of the week... sorry,Bills' fans that the game had to be in Detroit...

commentary...

even though the game against the Vikings was a hard fought, and tight game(score-wise,24-21),the Packers never trailed in the game... the reason comes down to three factors:Aaron Rodgers did not have a good game,numbers-wise,but he did not turn over the football via interception for the ninth game,of eleven games;Eddie Lacy had 125 rushing yards,on 25 carries, including the decisive game-winning drive, running out the last four minutes of game, when the Vikings had a chance to tie game with a field goal,or win the game with a touchdown;the Packers' team defense came up with key plays(the only turnover:an interception by Micah Hyde),and critical stops, when the score was tight, and they hurried Vikings' quarterback Teddy Bridgewater into errant throws, and erratic play, when it was necessary... it was an ugly game, compared to many Packers' games this season(throwing the football all over the place, and scoring points in bushels),but it was a game that was necessary to show how tough this Packers' team was, because in the playoffs, not every game will be a shootout, some will be slugfests in the proverbial "mud, blood, and beer",of playoff football...

Sunday, November 23, 2014

note...

with the Packers' win, over the Vikings, and the Lions' loss to the Patriots, the Packers are in first place in the NFC North division...

NFC North division games...

New England Patriots 34,Detroit Lions 9... no touchdowns for the Lions in last two games... Chicago Bears 21,Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13...

Packers' game score,and comments...

Packers 24,Minnesota Vikings 21... a tough game against the Vikings,as expected... however, the win for the Packers was a total team effort... will comment on game much later...

comments...

so far,it looks like no team is "lined up",for beatdown of the week...

USC Trojans game score...

UCLA Bruins 38,USC Trojans 20... a twenty four point outburst,in the second and third quarter, blew open a tight game for the Bruins... FIGHT ON!!!!!

Hall of Fame numbers for James Lofton...

Packers' Hall of Fame wide receiver James Lofton had 530 catches for 9,656 yards,as a Packers' player, with a 18.22 yards/per catch average,in nine years;his overall career numbers are 764 catches for 14,004 yards, with a 18.3 yards/per catch average, for his NFL career... he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003... note:that is the reason that i ranked him in the Packers' all-time top ten...

Packers' trivia,and commentary...

who was the Packers' quarterback, and final score,on November 29,1981,when the Packers last played the Vikings outside,in Minnesota??? answer:Lynn Dickey, who missed the previous two games with a back injury... he tossed a 47 yard touchdown pass to James Lofton to cap the offensive play for the day,for the Packers... final score:Packers 35,Vikings 23... note:Lofton is an underrated Packers' great,at wide receiver, because of the team's poor play in the decade of the 1980's,but his numbers compare to any Packers' wide receiver,in team history...

USC Trojans' news...

USC Trojans/UCLA Bruins,tonight...

Packers/Vikings game comments...

even though the Packers should be favored Sunday, against the Minnesota Vikings, they should not take them lightly, because they would love to spoil the Packers' season... the example comes into focus:last night's game between the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, won by the then 0-10 Raiders,24-20,for the Raiders' first win of the season, and the Raiders' first win in 368 days, after 16 straight losses, over two seasons... the Vikings do have talent to make the game interesting, and that is fact... i respect the Vikings, but i think that the Packers honestly will not take the Vikings lightly, because it is an important division game, because the record in the division is an important tiebreaker,in the playoff seedings,at the end of the season... however, only once in NFL history,in 2010,the Oakland Raiders won all six division games, finished 8-8,and did not make the NFL playoffs, that season... so the Packers should take care of business and beat the Vikings, but again it should be interesting to watch the game...

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Packers/Vikings game notes...

first of all,i "hate" every NFC North division opponent... however,to tell you the honest truth,i deeply respect every NFC North division opponent... every division game will be a slugfest, because every team wants to beat each other,badly... the Vikings got beat by the Packers,42-10,in Green Bay,but Minnesota is a very good defensive team, especially against the pass(8th in NFL),but folks can the Vikings stop Aaron Rodgers and company enough times,to give the Vikings a real chance??? since the blowout,in Green Bay,they are 2-3,including a 21-13 loss to the Chicago Bears last week... in the last two weeks, the Packers have scored 108 points,to,now, lead the NFL in most points scored, this season... quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown 28 touchdowns, only three interceptions, and if you take away the fact that the New Orleans Saints' defense picked him off twice(on deflections/tips),in a 44-23 rout of the Packers three weeks ago,the only interception he has thrown was opening week, against the Seattle Seahawks... it will be quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's seventh NFL start(of eight games)... he has thrown four touchdowns, and has only six interceptions... the rushing attacks for both teams are very good... but can,i say again, the Vikings stop the Green Bay offense enough times to give themselves a real chance,to win the game,on Sunday???

bad news just found out...

just found that a dear friend passed away on Sunday... am going to take a few days off... will preview the Packers/Vikings game on Friday, and will catch up on news,then... i will be just fine, but i am very sad today...

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

NFL news...

it appears that Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson will not play this Sunday, against the Packers... he was suspended without pay for the rest of the 2014-2015 NFL season, but will appeal, and yet,he will remain on the commissioner's exempt list during the appeal,so he does have a long shot chance to play during this season...

Monday, November 17, 2014

commentary...

the last two weeks have been very exciting, considering that the Packers are tied with the Detroit Lions,record-wise,and have scored 72 points in the first halves in the last two games, and 108 points,overall... now for the enigma of the Minnesota Vikings, next weekend... why an enigma??? the NFL hearing on reinstatement of Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson(an arbitration hearing is scheduled for today)... there are only six games left in this season, and with a reported $15 million cap hit next season for the Vikings,is Peterson worth $15 million next year??? flip a coin on that... funny thing is that he is on the commissioner's exempt list, and only he can take him off it... Peterson wants to play,no doubt, but him acting like a six year old kid,and missing a scheduled disciplinary hearing,on Friday, complaining that the hearing does not comply with the collective bargaining agreement(CBA)does not help, but the NFL has a new set of rules concerning domestic violence, including a six game ban for first offenders, but honestly missing nine games being on the exempt list constitute that the six game ban does not apply to Peterson... if it does,he could be on the field Sunday,at home, against the Packers, and if not,he will miss the season... he could be reinstated, then suspended later on in the season, because of the arbitration hearing today... so flip a coin, folks,on that... without Peterson, the Vikings have a big problem to solve in Aaron Rodgers and company... with Peterson, the Vikings still have the same problem, and losing to the Chicago Bears,21-13,yesterday,after the Bears took a 50 burger (55-14)on the chin from the Packers the week before, means that the Vikings are in trouble, and the game is still six days away... what a dilemma for the Vikings...

Sunday, November 16, 2014

correction...

it was Packers 53,Eagles 20... i corrected the previous post...

Packers' game score,and commentary...

Packers 53,Eagles 20... this is only the sixth time that a NFL team has scored 50+ points,in consecutive games, since WWII,but it is the third time in last three years... the only thing that stunk for the Packers was the special teams, and the kicking game with a punt block, missed extra point(twice-fumbled snap, and blocked extra point),and missed field goal... Packers had two defensive touchdowns (Julius Peppers had a pick six,and Casey Hayward had a fumble return touchdown)... Packers are tied record-wise with the Lions, for the NFC North division lead, but the Lions own tiebreaker, for now...

NFC North division scores...

Arizona Cardinals 14,Detroit Lions 6... Chicago Bears 21,Minnesota Vikings 13...

prayers for Bart,and Gordie...

prayers for Bart Starr, and "Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe,as they recover from health issues... both are Hall of Fame members in their respective sports, and people of that caliber,period...

Packers' game update...

Davante Adams scored the first touchdown for the Packers,on a six yard touchdown pass, from Aaron Rodgers, and Micah Hyde ran it 75 yards for a punt return touchdown... score:17-0 Packers...

NFL historic note...

Houston Texans' defensive lineman J.J. Watt scored his fourth touchdown of the year, most by a defensive player, since 1948,as the Texans beat the Cleveland Browns,23-7......

beatdown of the week...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27,Washington Redskins 7... the Redskins did absolutely nothing on offense,so the Buccaneers rolled over them...

just a reminder...

the Packers play the Philadelphia Eagles in one of the last games to kick off in the afternoon...

Eagles/Packers game notes...

facts on the Philadelphia Eagles:former New York Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez is the starter under center... they have a great running attack,in Darren Sproles, and LeSean McCoy,who led the NFL in rushing, and a very good offense that scored 31 of the team's 45 points(special teams, and defense each scored a touchdown on a punt return by Sproles, and a pick six by the defense),in a 45-21 rout of the Carolina Panthers... the Eagles are 7-2,a very good team, but they have one glaring flaw:their starting quarterback,Nick Foles is out with the same injury that sidelined Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers last season-a broken clavicle, and they are fighting the Dallas Cowboys (a half game up) for first place,in the NFC East division, just as the Packers are in second place, behind the Detroit Lions(a game behind)... both teams need the victory, but honestly, the Packers need it more, because the Packers' schedule may be softer, but with the Minnesota Vikings(at Minnesota),and New England Patriots(at Lambeau Field),in the next two weeks, the Packers need all the wins that they can get... not knowing what the NFL will do about running back Adrian Peterson is an enigma, but he could play against the Packers,so do not take Minnesota very lightly... basically put the hammer down on all your opponents, and watch out for Tom Brady(as always),and the NFC North division will be decided,in week seventeen,at Lambeau Field, against the Detroit Lions... quarterback Aaron Rodgers just threw six touchdown passes, last week, and the Packers scored 48 points,on offense,in a 55-14 rout of the Chicago Bears,so it should be an interesting game,Sunday, shouldn't it...

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Packers' news...

the Packers will be wearing their throwback jerseys(blue and yellow, and yellow helmets that was mandated by the NFL,in off-season)... i bought that jersey a couple years ago,so i will be decked out in blue and yellow,on Sunday...

Packers' game next weekend...

Philadelphia Eagles play the Packers, this weekend,at Lambeau Field... will preview game starting tomorrow...

plans for me...

the pictures on my bedroom wall of me running my first marathon are thirty five years old, tomorrow(November 12,1979),and i was eight minutes late for the start of the race... i ran the first ten miles that day,in 1:04(not including the eight minutes late),trying to catch up to the field... my dear departed mother took the pictures, and i finished in 5:30,lost six pounds that day, and, like every marathon runner, swore that i would NEVER do it again, but that was not true... i ran with the Olympic Torch,in 1984,outside Reno, and then vomited on the bus... funny thing is that i also lit my hair on fire, with the Torch... tomorrow is a special day in my memory,so tomorrow,i will start running(very slow, and not far,at first),because it is time that i start getting in shape(of course, slow and easy)... i am not twenty years old any longer, but i am very tired of being out of condition... besides running(more like jogging,at first),i will do some exercises that help tone my body up and keep me active... i plan on losing some weight, and that is a very good thing,period... my next marathon will be run when i am in condition to do that, not UNTIL THEN,and will be dedicated to those people whom i love, and those who have passed away...

Packers' trivia...

for your information,Packers have won 23 straight games, against the Detroit Lions, including a playoff game,in Wisconsin*... *Packers also played in Milwaukee,at County Stadium, during the streak...

put another candle on the cake...

Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy turned fifty one,today... Happy Birthday,Mike...

commentary...

i could rip the Bears for the game that they played last night... however,55-14 was a laugher, and that included a 102 yard kickoff return by the Bears, and even though i wanted a "burial" of the Bears' season,i could have only dreamed that the Packers would score 42 points by halftime, and Aaron Rodgers would match the team record of six touchdown passes, set by Matt Flynn, his backup, against the Detroit Lions,in week seventeen,in the magical regular season of 2011(15-1),and do it in a half, not a whole game.. i noticed that when the Packers kicked their first field goal that Rodgers was miffed slightly that he misfired on third down, because i believe that he wanted to throw seven touchdown passes, before he left the game... the Packers finally showed that when they play on all cylinders that they are not going to be beat... a NFL Network pundit said that he still favored the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, because they are a more complete team... i almost choked on that comment, and gave the television an one finger salute... after last night, the Lions would be in major trouble,if they come to Lambeau Field, and face THIS Packers' team, right now... even though the Lions beat the Packers,19-7,in week three,in Detroit, the Lions are built to be a "dome" team, and a very good one,by the way,the Packers are averaging 41.5 points/per game, through their four home games,so far... when the Packers are scoring like they have done,at Lambeau Field, this season, very very few teams can out-score them... the Detroit Lions better hope the Packers are off,in their game plan,in week seventeen, because they will be in trouble,if the Packers are playing anywhere near what happened last night... let me remind the Packers of the score(19-7) that the Lions beat them by,in week three... i know that it will be tattooed on their minds,in week seventeen, when the Lions visit the "Frozen Tundra",in week seventeen... that game will be for the NFC North division,in front of 80,750 cold unfriendly(for the Lions)fans, and what happens, happens, but i have a question for the Lions:can you beat the Packers,at Lambeau Field, when, right now,Aaron Rodgers is 33-3,against the NFC North division??? i do not think so!!!!!!

Packers' game score...

Packers 55,Bears 14... DA BEARS DID SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! enough said!!!!!!!!

dubious NFL history...

Bears became second team in NFL history to allow 50+points in consecutive games, matching the Rochester Jeffersons,in 1923....

Packers',and NFL history...

Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the second quarterback in NFL history to throw six touchdown passes in a half, since Daryle Lamonica did it on October 19,1969,for the Oakland Raiders, against the Buffalo Bills(50-21 win, that day)...

comeback of the week...

New York Jets 20,Pittsburgh Steelers 13... this is odd,but i give a then 1-8 team the comeback of the week,as the New York Jets stun the Pittsburgh Steelers... for a team that had lost eight straight games, they dominated the Steelers,in this game, and because of that,i give the comeback of the week...

beatdown of the week...

Denver Broncos 41,Oakland Raiders 17... Broncos score five touchdowns to break open a tight game, before a garbage touchdown,by the Raiders,in last minute... Peyton Manning had five touchdown passes,in a rout...

NFC North division games...

Detroit Lions 20,Miami Dolphins 16... Minnesota Vikings have a bye week...

weather forecast for Green Bay,Sunday night...

weather forecast for Green Bay,Sunday night:between 28 degrees,and 38 degrees,and possible rain/snow,with a westerly wind at about 14 miles/per hour* *weather.com(The Weather Channel website)... Bears,welcome to the "Frozen Tundra"...

starting a chant...

now, everyone repeat after me,on the count of three:one, two, three:DA BEARS SUCK,DA BEARS SUCK,and, finally,DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!!

Packers/Bears' game notes,and commentary...

now,Packers play the Bears,Sunday night,at Lambeau Field... pundits are picking the Packers all over the place... Kiss of Death??? both offenses were not stopped in week four, and both defenses looked like swiss cheese,in the first half... play of the game:Bears stopped at the half foot line,as time ran out in first half,as Ha Ha Clinton-Dix made perhaps the play of the entire year, for the Packers' defense, and, maybe, the entire team... Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler self-imploded in the second half,as the Packers' defense did not allow a single point,in the last two quarters,as two Packers' interceptions, and a very potent Packers' offense led to twenty four straight points,in a 38-17 Packers' rout,in Chicago... Jordy Nelson, and Randall Cobb had 100 receiving yards, and caught two touchdown passes apiece, from quarterback Aaron Rodgers... now for some Packers' statistics:Packers have won ten of the last twelve games(including playoffs)against the Bears... under head coach Mike McCarthy, the Packers are 37-13-1,(.735),overall in division games, and at Lambeau Field, are 20-4-1,in division games... both records are in top three in the NFL:the overall record being number two,and the home record being number three,in the NFL... in that case,DA BEARS DO REALLY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! i deeply respect the Bears, and always will, but as a shareholder/owner of the Packers,i want to see a "burial",of the Bears' season,in a big rout... expect a real dogfight, and a close game... that will be almost guaranteed, folks, because both teams do not like each other, and after ninety three years of this historic rivalry, folks, buckle up for a nasty, and heated game... last year,Bears' defensive end Shea McClellin put a hurting on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, breaking his clavicle, with a "gator roll" of a tackle, and then tried the same thing, again,in week seventeen, but that time, was called for unsportsmanlike conduct(a fifteen yard penalty)... what a punk!!!!!!!!

Packers' trivia...

what radio station in a NFL city has broadcast every game,of the team that they cover, since 1929??? answer:WTMJ 620AM/94.5FM,in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and the team is the Green Bay Packers... side note:in the movie,"Major League",the producers used County Stadium,in Milwaukee,as the "home" of the Cleveland Indians, and in a scene in the movie, the scoreboard has the radio station initials of WTMJ,on it...

2015 NFL games,in London...

New York Jets/Miami Dolphins;Detroit Lions/Kansas City Chiefs;Buffalo Bills/Jacksonville Jaguars...

commentary...

folks,i am very sorry, because i am not been myself lately... i am watching the Red Wings/New York Rangers NHL game, and i noticed that i simply have no emotion, which is very odd, because i am usually fired up,and i am just blah,period... it is BEARS WEEK,and maybe i am being too funny about things(if you know what i mean)...when the Red Wings are on,i usually am a little caustic with my language,in a humorous way,and lately,i have been very very somber, and mellow, which is not me... even this is odd,i am mentally tired, and simply need a break, but even though that is true,it has been just over a year since i have had any great deal of time away from here... ever have a day that you want to scream, curse, stomp your foot, and just want to kick someone's rear end??? maybe i need to do that(laughing)... folks,i will be fine, but i need to say this, right now:i will get even with whoever turned my personality down a notch, because i am going to kick that person's rear end... by the way,the person who needs a rear end kicked is,of course,me,folks(laughing)... so let me kick away...

commentary...

have to be somewhat funny about my "hate" for the Bears... honestly,i would be a real fool to really hate the Chicago Bears... i know that it is only a game, but being a shareholder/owner,i have to stick up for the team that i own stock in,period... to tell you the truth,i deeply respect the Bears, and expect a real dogfight,Sunday night(again)... however, again i say(to everybody, repeat),one, two, three:DA BEARS DO REALLY SUCK!!!!!!!!

comments...

this is BEARS WEEK for Packers' fans, shareholders, and owners... it is one of two game weeks against our most bitter "hated" rivals, and i have some extra nastiness, for the Chicago Bears,in the two weeks that they play the Packers every year...for every fan,and shareholder/owner,repeat after me:DA BEARS DO REALLY SUCK!!!!!!!  one, two, three:DA BEARS DO REALLY SUCK!!!!!!!!!

commentary...

DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!!!!! even though that the Bears have a chance to win Sunday,i honestly believe if the Packers play their best, they will "bury" the Bears in the "Frozen Tundra",Sunday... they need the win much more than the Bears, and they have four of the next five games,at Lambeau Field, and five of the last eight games at home... DA BEARS DO SUCK!!!!!!!!! they also may have a huge chip in their shoulders, because of the stinker in New Orleans... DA BEARS DO REALLY SUCK!!!!!!!!

Sunday, November 2, 2014

commentary...

i respect the Chicago Bears... i really do,honestly... however,as a Packers' shareholder/owner,no matter what the team records are,at the time of the games, between the teams,i simply want to beat the Bears every time... it is not possible, but beating the Bears are the two games that i simply want to win the most, every season... simply,DA BEARS REALLY SUCK,PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!! i honestly believe that...

Packers/Bears trivia...

in 1985,why did William "the Refrigerator" Perry score two touchdowns, one rushing, and one receiving, against the Packers,in both of their games, against the Packers??? answer:Bears' head coach Mike Ditka wanted to humiliate the Packers,period...

most interesting game of the day...

Rams 13,49ers 10... eight sacks by the Rams of 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick stalled the 49ers' offense all day,and the last second fumbled quarterback sneak,by Kaepernick, cost the 49ers the win,period...

Mount St.Joseph's petitioned the NCAA to have game against Hiram College moved up two weeks,to allow Lauren to play... they accepted, and the first basket of game was scored by Lauren,on a layup, and the standing room only crowd, and both teams gave Lauren a standing ovation... WAY TO GO,LAUREN!!!!!! prayers go out to you,and your family... you are an inspiration to a lot of people...

jazz 101...

i just got tired of watching television, and i realized that i really have not listened to any jazz music from John Coltrane,in a very long time,so i am listening to his CDs,named,"Ballads",and "Blue Train"... simply great music... i forgot how great this jazz is... later on,i will listen to "Love Supreme",and a live album,"Live at the Village Vanguard"... his teamwork with Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk,in their quartets is absolutely legendary... simply great, without a doubt...

oddest story of being "on the road"...

well,it was Memorial Day Weekend,1995,and i was in Las Vegas,so knowing that i wanted to go back to Sacramento,i had to go south towards Los Angeles, because of the Nevada desert, via I-15,so i get to Barstow, that Saturday night... well,in the morning,i decide to go to Bakersfield, via State Route 58... really bad decision, because i get stuck in the high desert outside Barstow(about 30 miles out) for six and a half hours, and dying of massive thirst,i finally get a six pack of soda, about six hours into the "Death March into Hell"... i drink them(all six)in less than two minutes... finally i get a lift into Bakersfield, and get dropped off at a honky tonk on the outskirts of town... spent the night dancing, and drinking water, and soda... the next morning,i continue my trip to Sacramento up Highway 99(the Highway of Hell,as i call it)...  well,in 2004,or 2005,my mother and i go up to Bakersfield to look at some real estate that uncle Jerry gave her(which was screwed)... Mom decides to take me by the "ranch house",and basically tell me how Jerry screwed up the property... well,we drive past the house, and the next street over, with the parking lot abutting the "ranch house" property is the honky tonk i was at,on that Memorial Day weekend,in 1995... i wondered that night in 1995 how close i was to the "ranch house"... i was about 2,000 yards away from the house, believe it or not...

in my life,part 7...

there are times that some songs remind me of my crazy life "on the road"(1989-1999)... people sometimes ask me if i miss it... oddly,i do,but not for the reasons you honestly may think that i miss it... i do not miss the sleep arraignments every night, the sleeping under a tree, the sleeping in a movie theater, the days never ending with a eternal tan,and so on... strangely, the one thing that i miss is the fact that when i woke up,i was in a different place... seeing the sunrise over the Nevada desert, walking in Zion Canyon with a deer walking by when it is summertime, seeing the Bonneville Salt Flats when hitchhiking from Reno to Salt Lake City, walking through the Hudson River Valley in New York State, getting mugged in White Plains,New York, and having to hitchhike through New York state,Pennsylvania, and Ohio, before getting a bus ticket,in Akron,Ohio, with help from the Catholic Church(had to verify that i got mugged, also with help from the Akron police department),seeing the Grand Canyon,in a blizzard(actually not,but was there),in 1994,speeding at 110 mph,in a 1960's Porsche, going from Reno to Las Vegas, and standing outside the Mirage that same night, hitchhiking from Reno to Albuquerque,in fifteen hours(got a ride in Kingman,Arizona,in fifteen seconds),and went to a triple film fest on Central Avenue, that night, spending four days in bed, with botulism,in Kingman,Arizona(almost died),staying in a wood shack,in Springdale,Utah, shoveling coal, into a heater, watching Super Bowl XXVII,on a small black and white television,on an army cot,and finally arriving in New Haven,Connecticut,Memorial Day Sunday,1994,at 2:15 am.,walking through the town, and then getting cursed at by
a newspaper man,for asking him what time it was... that is what i really miss, the crazy adventures every day,and i could go on,and on... people may not understand why i would miss that, but i do,because that part of being "on the road" was actually fun... i would not do it again, but it was an unique way to travel, and meeting very good people, who would help me along the way...

GIANTS WIN THIRD WORLD SERIES,IN FIVE YEARS!!!!!!!

2014 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS... Madison Bumgarner won three games, one in relief(FIVE INNINGS)... third World Series title,in five seasons... Madison Bumgarner World Series MVP...

in my life,part 6...

folks,i have insomnia,tonight... it does suck... it will be a very hard morning, because i will be very tired... i am listening to country music, but to be honest,it is doing nothing to calm me down... i am body tired, but mind is going 1,000 mph,if you know what i mean...i am finally yawning, but is it enough to get me to lie down??? not yet,but getting there... thinking about some very loving people who have passed away, and i miss them all... they will remain unnamed, but they always have a very special piece of my heart... when they died,a piece of my heart went with their loving spirits, and i miss them all... they all taught me something very special, and without them,i am not the same person that i am,today, without a doubt... i can be very nice, and most of the time,i am,but folks,i am a Shaw, and Shaws are tougher than nails, and they can spit fire, when provoked... i was taught a long time ago not to take any crud from anyone, and to family and dear friends,i will take criticism from them gladly, because they have my best interest in heart, and mind, but to other people,i could care not a whit what other people think about me,because i am a Shaw, and us Shaws do not take any crud from anyone, period!!!!!! isn't that right, folks???

commentary...

since this is the bye week for the Packers,i am taking a few days off from blogging, but if there is breaking news,or something i want to talk about,i will do some blogging... it looks like Thursday,i will be back ramping up for "BEARS WEEK",next week... as i will say many times next week,DA BEARS SUCK!!!!!!! that felt good(laughing)...

Monday, October 27, 2014

commentary...

since the Packers are on the bye week, and after a horrible game,i am taking a few days off... not many, but i am very disappointed in the way that the Packers played last night... i know that it is only a game... since the Packers do not normally play like that, and that the NFC North division is still up for grabs, the game against the Chicago Bears is critical to the season... the Detroit Lions is still only a game ahead of the Packers, and the NFC North division crown will be decided on the last week of the 2015 NFL season, when the Lions visit Lambeau Field,to play the Packers... i still like the Packers' chances for the NFC North division crown... like the 1994 San Francisco 49ers,who got beat by the Philadelphia Eagles,40-8,the 49ers rebounded to win Super Bowl XXIX... i am not saying that the Packers will win Super Bowl XLIX,but anything is still possible... they must play better,on both sides of the football, because they did very little on team offense, and the defense looked like swiss cheese,in the horrible second half... they have played very well this season,at times, but there have been times that the Packers have played like a pee wee team, like in the opening week loss, against Seattle, and, now, against New Orleans... defensive injuries are not an excuse, and the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers are not an excuse,either... they need to go back to square one, realize that it was just a very bad game(second half),come back from their bye week with a big chip on their collective shoulders, beat the Chicago Bears(put them out of their misery),and work hard to get a smile on their collective faces, because the Saints' game was a real stinker,period...

Sunday, October 26, 2014

Packers' game score,and commentary...

New Orleans Saints 44,Packers 23... Packers simply got out-played by the Saints,in second half... two interceptions of Aaron Rodgers gave the Saints momentum to blow the Packers out of the Superdome,tonight... Saints dominated second half, and the Packers' defense had a very bad second half... two onside kicks failed(one in each half)for the Packers...  ugliest half of football,by Packers,in years... numbers do lie tonight:Aaron Rodgers threw for 418 yards, but nothing worked... even though i do not put the Packers up for the beatdown of the week, this game was so bad in the second half,i really did consider doing just that... i need to forget this toad of a game, and it may take a few days... oh well, you can not win them all!!!!!!!!

NFC North Division game...

Minnesota Vikings 19,Tampa Bay 13,overtime... a fumble return by Anthony Barr, for a touchdown in the first twenty seconds of overtime, ended game for the Vikings... the Vikings tied game with a field goal,as time ran out in regulation...

beatdowns of the week...

New England Patriots 51,Chicago Bears 23... with quarterback Tom Brady throwing five touchdown passes, and the Patriots up 45-7,the Patriots called off the dogs,basically...three New England touchdowns in a minute late in second quarter, ballooned lead from 17-7,to 38-7(two Brady touchdown passes, for the Bears, and a 15 yard fumble return for a touchdown, along with a great punt return by Julian Edelman gave the Patriots a short field on the second Brady touchdown, and then a Bears' turnover basically ended the game,at halftime)... Buffalo Bills 43,New York Jets 23... six turnovers by both quarterbacks,Geno Smith, and Michael Vick basically gave the game to the Bills... only an inept offense,by the Bills, early on in game even gave the Jets life, but with six turnovers(three interceptions by Smith, and two fumbles with an interception by Vick)finally doomed the Jets, who are 1-7,losing seven straight games... any odds of Rex Ryan staying through the year,as head coach??? at this time, long long odds... any takers??? i did not think so...

comeback of the week...

Lions 22,Falcons 21... after being down by 21 points,Lions' defense shut down the Falcons' offense, with help from the Falcons' coaching staff, and a major snafu(on a run in Detroit territory,a holding call on the Falcons),in last two minutes of game, that gave the Lions time, for a drive for winning field goal,as time ran out on the clock...

note...

there are two beatdowns of the week,so i will not note them, until they both end...

in London,NFC North division game...

Detroit Lions 22,Atlanta Falcons 21... for the second straight week, the Lions get the breaks,in the last two minutes of game... on winning field goal, the Lions, who missed a field with four seconds left, got a second chance with a delay of game penalty, and made winning field goal, from 48 yards out(Matt Prater)...

Saturday, October 25, 2014

USC Trojans game score...

Utah Utes 24,USC Trojans 21.... USC blew it!!!!!!!! bad execution on a pitch and step out of bounds,on 4th and 2,by USC,with just over two minutes to play, directly led to winning one yard touchdown pass by Utah, and doomed the Trojans...

blog statement...

the day before NFL games on Sunday,i am usually very tired... now, with the Packers playing on Sunday night, against the Saints, this week,i will take some extra time to unwind... i will note the usual stuff, except the commentary on the game Sunday night, because i usually go to bed early, but i will be up late, because of a WWE pay per view, which i will see on replay after the Packers' game,on Sunday night,so i will write commentary,Monday morning,it looks like, right now...

correction to Packers/Saints game notes...

i have brainfreeze... the last time the Packers played the Saints was in 2012,when the Packers beat the Saints,at Lambeau Field,28-27,in an old-fashioned shootout... Aaron Rodgers has an streak of 192 passes without an interception, dating back to game one, this season, against the Seattle Seahawks... the six game streak without an interception, matches the Packers' team record, set by Bart Starr,in 1964... all-time series is 16-7,in favor of the Packers... the team record of consecutive passes without an interception is 294,by Bart Starr,in 1964-1965... the last six games between the teams have been split...

Packers/Saints game notes...

when you have an offense who ranks in the top ten in NFL,in many respects, why are you 2-4??? Drew Brees is a very good quarterback, but has had moments of inconsistent play(example:interception deep in Saints' territory, leading to Detroit Lions' winning touchdown, last week),in a 24-23 Lions' win... when you have a quarterback who can light you up offensively(the same thing can be said for Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers),you have potential to outscore anybody... the big reason why the Saints are 2-4 is that their defense gives up too many yards, and points at critical times... the last time these teams played, the Packers won 42-34(week one),in 2011,at Lambeau Field, when Clay Matthews, and company stopped the Saints on fourth down,on a goal line stand... the Packers' defense shortly crumpled, when All Pro Nick Collins injured his neck,in week three, and never was the same,in 2011,even though the Packers went 15-1... both offenses should light it up,but the game will decided,by turnovers, and which defense shines brightest,on Sunday, under the Superdome,in New Orleans... both defenses will put to the test,early... when you have Jimmy Graham.Marques Colston, and Drew Brees, for the Saints, and Jordy Nelson,Randall Cobb, and Aaron Rodgers, for the Packers, you have a wild, hot night, coming up in New Orleans... interesting night, isn't it???

delayed return for Brett...

the return to Lambeau Field for Brett Favre has been delayed again... however, this time,it is not either party's fault... he wanted to do it with Bart Starr, but Starr had two strokes, and a heart attack,in September, but Starr(who is recovering nicely),is still not healthy enough to do that with Favre... prayers and my thoughts go out to him and his family...

a beating in Chicago,and commentary...

there is a report that a tailgating (unnamed, for now)Bears' fan got into a fight before,or during, the game,Sunday... well,he is in critical condition,in a Chicago hospital... thoughts, and prayers go out to him,and his family... as for beating someone for tailgating, there should be zero tolerance for that, and i really hope they catch the piece of scum who beat up the guy,period... this has nothing to do with being a fan... there has been three separate incidents of fights resulting:in one case,in Los Angeles(Bryan Stow,a San Francisco Giants' fan was the victim),a prison term for the scum, and one resulting in partial paralysis for the victim, and now,this... it does really suck, and hope that they catch the scum who did this... by the way,i may say that i want to "bury" opponents on the field,by beating them quite badly(45-0,for example),but it is only a game, not life or death... STOP THIS!!!!!!!!!

a day in Lambeau Field, and commentary...

an overcast, but happy day,at Lambeau Field...  workers doing maintenance on the "Frozen Tundra",during my look at the pitch... wishing that i am watching the Bears get stomped into the "Frozen Tundra",and smiling inside the bowl of Lambeau Field... what a dream... "hate DA BEARS",and by the way,"DA BEARS" STILL SUCK!!!!!!! reminder:the week after the bye week is "BEARS WEEK",so expect me to be a little extra nasty that week... as a shareholder/owner,i honestly really enjoy being a little extra nasty, those two weeks,of the season,no matter what the records are,at the time of the games...  by the way,i "hate" every division opponent, but the Bears draw out a little more animosity,in me...

510 touchdowns for a guy with true class...

Brett Favre threw 508 touchdowns in 302 games, and Peyton Manning threw 510 touchdowns in 246 games... have to give Peyton Manning much credit for his NFL record... he is incredible, period, and a person with true class... i may not like the Denver Broncos too much, but my respect for Peyton goes deeper than just football and yet,his PAPA JOHN'S commercials are funny, but surely brutal... have to laugh at him,too... Congratulations,Peyton!!!!!!!!!!

NFL history...

Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes,on 22 of 26 passing, for 318 yards... he also broke Brett Favre's NFL record of 508 touchdown passes, and now has 510 touchdown passes for his NFL career... Congratulations,Peyton!!!!!!!!!!

Packers' note...

to tell you how hot Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is:he was 19 of 22(86.4 completion percentage),for 255 yards, and three touchdowns, today, against the Carolina Panthers... so far,he has 18 touchdown passes, and only one interception this season...

beatdown of the week...

Indianapolis Colts 27,Cincinnati Bengals 0... Colts get their first shutout in six years,as Cincinnati imploded,on offense...

NFC North division games...

Detroit Lions 24,New Orleans Saints 23... quarterback Drew Brees threw an interception in his own end of field, giving the Lions a very short field, with about three minutes left, and the Lions score a touchdown, with just less than two minutes left, and then New Orleans went nowhere,as the Lions iced the game, with their defense... Miami Dolphins 27,Chicago Bears 14... Bears drop to 0-3 at home,as Miami simply beat them, and making the Bears look pathetic... "hate DA BEARS"...

comeback of the week....

Buffalo Bills 17,Minnesota Vikings 16... Buffalo wins with a last second touchdown,to Sammy Watkins, from Kyle Orton...

Packers' game score...

Packers 38,Panthers 17... Packers crush the Panthers... went up 28-3,at halftime, and 38-3,before both teams called off the dogs,in a rout... enough said...

USC Trojans' game score,and comments...

USC Trojans 56,Colorado Buffaloes 28... USC quarterback Cody Kessler had seven touchdown passes,a USC Trojan school record,in a game that was 28-0,after one period, and was a real stomping... FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!

Packers' trivia...

who was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers,at the time of the 1996 NFC Championship game, between the Packers and the Panthers??? hint:he is still a coach of one of the teams,in tomorrow's game between the teams... answer:Packers' defensive coordinator Dom Capers was the head coach of the then second year Panthers...

Packers/Panthers game notes...

can Cam Newton and the Panthers outscore the Packers' offense??? yes, only with defensive help... short fields throughout the game, and the game will be won by Carolina... turnovers and Carolina have a chance to win... the last time the Panthers played the Packers,it was Newton's third(oops, made a mistake)career game(Packers were Super Bowl XLV Champions),in 2011,and the Packers went down 13-0,and then bounced back in the second half, outscoring the Panthers,30-10,to win game,30-23,with a final 84 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers,to Jordy Nelson,to ice game... former Packers' cornerback Charles Woodson had two interceptions, and former All Pro Nick Collins played in his last game(injured his neck on a tackle),and even though the Packers went 15-1,in 2011,the defense never recovered that year... i remember that game, because Newton became a star with that game... last year, the Panthers' defense was one of the NFL's best, but this year the defense has not gelled, like last year, but has potential to gel,but two defensives main cogs(Frank Alexander, and Greg Hardy)will not play, because of off field issues... both teams' running games have potential to tear up both defenses... Packers' key on defense:make Cam Newton beat you,by stopping their potent running attack... with him recovering(still)from off-season ankle surgery,he is running less than normal, but ran for 107 yards last week, and had his best overall game,in 2014... Panthers' key on defense:cover the Packers' wide receivers like a glove, and try to rattle quarterback Aaron Rodgers,by giving him no time to pass, sacking him as many times as you can... keep both offenses off the field, and make the game a slugfest, and it will be an interesting game to watch... in other words,i expect a shootout, but the team with a critical turnover,at the right time, has the advantage to win the game... it may come down to a field goal, and both field goal kickers are very good... Packers are tough to beat at home,so who knows???

commentary...

the Packers were down 24-17,with about ten minutes to play, against the Dolphins...the Packers' defense were wearing thin, because of the heat, and had not stopped the Dolphins most of the day,and then the Packers went on an eleven play-68 yard drive for a short field goal,in just over five minutes,by Mason Crosby, then the Packers' defense forced the Dolphins into punting, finally, and then Aaron Rodgers had a drive for Packers' lore,an eleven play-60 play drive that ended with a game-winning four yard touchdown pass,to Andrew Quarless, with three seconds left... play of the drive:a fake spike play to wide receiver Davante Adams down to the four yard line, that set up the final play to Quarless....

beatdown of the week...

Baltimore Ravens 48,Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17... if Joe Flacco throws five touchdowns in first seventeen minutes of game time, which he did,you deserve the dubious honor of being a beatdown of the week victim...

Packers/Dolphins game notes...

Green Bay is 1-6,against the Dolphins,in Miami, but they beat the Dolphins the last time they played in Miami(34-24,in Mike McCarthy's first season,as head coach(October 22,2006),and face former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin,as he is Dolphins' head coach, for the first time... actually not much of a preview(because of very few games played between the teams),but six of the last nine games between the teams have been decided by single digits... trivia:what NFL team has a winning percentage of .792,in the month of October(19-5),since 2008,which leads the NFL in winning percentage, during that time span??? answer:the Green Bay Packers...

RIP,Shane Haley...

a Pennsylvania couple made a "bucket list" for their unborn baby boy,and did it before he was born.. Dan and Jenna Haley announced Shane Michael Haley earlier this morning, and his tragic death shortly after birth... Shane was born with a terminal condition called anencephaly,a brain defect that causes the infant to be born without parts of his brain and skull... well,Shane was baptized, and lived fifty minutes, and died peacefully surrounded by family... his parents said that his life was his own,and they were thankful for the time that they had with Shane... prayers and condolences for the family, and, especially,Shane!!!!!!

Packers' trivia...

quarterback Aaron Rodgers,Sunday, will play in his 100th career game, against the Miami Dolphins...who has the best career passer rating,in NFL history,at 105.4??? answer:Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers... who is second on that list??? answer:Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning,at 97.4...

Packers/Dolphins:a tidbit of history between the teams

i will preview the Packers/Dolphins game,tomorrow... it will take time, because they have played thirteen times(Miami winning ten of the games, but the Packers have won three of the last five games)...

commentary...

after the Buffalo Bills' win against the Detroit Lions,on Sunday(which i am happy about),former Detroit Lions' head coach, and Bills' defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz(a real scumbag) got carried off the field,in Detroit... for him,it was total disrespect,of his former team, and i can empathize with some of the Lions' players comments, ripping the Bills' defensive coordinator, for the stunt...my opinion:Schwartz was a punk as Lions' head coach, and now this:people do not change their stripes... like i said earlier,a real scumbag...

comments...

on October 19,2011,four days before Christian Ponder debuted as quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, against the Green Bay Packers,i welcomed Ponder to a,"pounding, sacks, interceptions, and many more fumbles,in his NFL career"... as of last Thursday,Ponder has beaten the Packers exactly once, and is now the Vikings' backup quarterback... did i nail that, folks??? YES,I DID!!!!!!!!

a quarterback reminder to the rest of the NFL...

in an interview,Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers reminded everyone that the Packers' offense can get better... in the 42-10 stomping of the Minnesota Vikings,Rodgers threw three touchdowns, for only 156 yards,in only three quarters, but the offense did sputter in the second quarter, with five straight three and outs,on their resume for the night, and still won 42-10... to the rest of the NFC North division, that is outright scary,in the Packers' potential,on team offense, let alone the rest of the NFL...

beatdown of the week

normally,i do not put the Packers as a team eligible for the beatdown of the week(that way,i do not seem to be a "homer",in that respect)... so far, there are no teams eligible for beatdown of the week, because most of the games are very close...

comeback of the week...

Cleveland Browns 29,Tennessee Titans 28... down 28-3,in third period,Cleveland simply stun the Titans with a last minute touchdown, and for the win... note:a comeback of a year candidate...

just a good game...

Dallas Cowboys 20,Houston Texans 17,overtime... Dallas is 4-1....

NFC North Division games...

Buffalo Bills 17,Detroit Lions,14... Carolina Panthers 31,Chicago Bears 24... Packers and Lions are tied for NFC North division lead, but because of win against the Packers,Lions are in first place, but the records are the same,at 3-2... however, the losses by the Lions, and Bears, does help the Packers... right now,the NFC North division crown may come down to December 28th,when the Lions visit Lambeau Field, and the Packers,on the last day of the regular season...

blog statement...

sorry,folks... have not been on today, because the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears are in tight games, deep in the fourth quarter...

USC Trojans game score...

Arizona State Sun Devils 38,USC Trojans 34... two touchdown passes in last 2:43 of game doomed USC-a 73 yard touchdown pass, and a 46 yard "Hail Mary",with seven seconds left.... a mixup on the USC defense also helped,on the "Hail Mary",Arizona State, who has beaten USC three of the last four years, including a 62-41 win that cost Lane Kiffin his head coaching job, while at the airport, after USC landed... it is the first win, since 1999,for Arizona State,in Los Angeles...

in my life,part 5...

this day has been very emotional for me... there are some days that make me literally cry,and yet, smile, because i have been on the verge of tears most of the day... i really wish that i could really explain how i feel right now, because maybe you could really understand who i am... this is one of those days... i woke up this morning hearing small footsteps, and hearing my mother's voice in my ear(which does not happen too often)... honestly,it has always bothered me how my mother passed away, and yet,she lived life to the fullest, and she passed away the only way that she could,on her own terms, and like my dearly departed uncle once said to me,she wanted me to be all right, and she would be very proud of me,right now... i miss her deeply, for i am her son, like her,i am very hard, but have a good heart, and there are things that i do that remind me of her every single day... i believe that i may be more like her than i want to admit to myself, and that is a very good thing, isn't it???
