a night at Lambeau Field...

need a laugh???

a Washington D.C. area Arby's has given Washington Redskins' quarterback Robert Griffith III his own reserved parking spot... however,RGIII sponsors another fast food chain-SUBWAY... do not think he will use it... just thought you needed a chuckle...

commentary...

with what has happened in Boston, this week, the New England Patriots will exchange the Aaron Hernandez jersey bought before now, with jerseys comparable to cost, next weekend, for the fans, who bought his jersey... my opinion:i deeply respect the Patriots, and the NFL(me being a Packers' shareholder/owner),and i absolutely 100% agree with what the NFL,and the Patriots did... get the criminals out of the NFL!!!!! DUI's are much different than very hard crime, and the major idiots, like Hernandez,in that category do not deserve to be in the NFL...

to my dear departed mother...

within forty eight hours of my mother's death,in 2008,i bought some blues music(Buddy Guy,John Lee Hooker,James Brown, and B.B. King),which,up to this day,has not been played,a day, except the James Brown boxed set, which i played sometime last year... i was heartbroken the day she died, and the music was a reminder of the days before, and day that she died... however,on her 75th birthday,i decided last week that i would play at least one of the boxed sets to toast her on her birthday... i decided on Buddy Guy,partly because of the packaging of the B.B. King, and John Lee Hooker boxed sets were pristine, and even though i dearly love James Brown(i would crank James up to ear-splitting levels, and i really do not want to go absolutely deaf),i am laughing to myself, and i really feel mom here today, enjoying the music... i am truly do miss her every day,but especially today, because today, her spirit is in my ear, saying,"Great music,C. Ray",and then she would smile, give me a hug,and wiggle her rear end(she did that, when she was extremely happy)... in my tears, right now,i deeply miss her... here is a toast to you,Mom,on your birthday...

mother would be 75,today...

i miss my dear departed mother very very much... today,it would be her 75th birthday.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY,Ahnawake Unger:June 28,1938-February 8th,2008... very simple memorial....

Breaking News...

this is the only time that i will mention this:Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been charged with first degree murder,in the shooting death of 27 year old Odin Lloyd, plus five different gun charges,today... my opinion:i can not mention what i am thinking, simply said,it is disgusting...

blog statement...

as the NFL,and NHL are in their offseasons,i am taking a few days off from blogging(a couple days, maybe),to recharge my mental "batteries"... be back,shortly... my recent blogging has been not up to my usual standards,in my opinion...

NFL news...

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Desmond Bishop says that playing against Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers was motivation for his jump from the Packers,to the Vikings... he says that it was a numbers game,in personnel,in Green Bay,so he has no problem with the team... WANNA BET ON THAT???

an anniversary people forget...

Martin Luther King,Jr is known for his "I have a Dream" speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial in August 1963... a epic speech,no doubt!!!!! however, people truly forget that he delivered a very similar speech, with some of the same lines of the epic speech,in Detroit, fifty years ago,yesterday... remember,MLK,Jr,everyday!!!!!!!

rhetorical question...

is anyone surprised that Greg Jennings, and Desmond Bishop both signed with the Minnesota Vikings, for the 2013-2014 NFL season??? they followed Ryan Longwell, and Brett Favre to the Vikings, but honestly, like Longwell, and Favre, both of them wanted to stick it to the Packers twice a year... is that right,Greg, and Desmond??? big whoop!!!!!!!

blog statement...

this blog is mostly about Packers' football, and NFL football,in general, but honestly, sometimes,it is so boring to talk about players being moronic, and idiotic,in their offseasons(examples:players' DUI's,and other things)... some things interest me that have nothing to do about football,so i comment on them, mostly in the offseason, and there is only so much trivia that i can stomach...

RIP Bobby "Blue" Bland...

one of my favorite blues music artists has died today... Bobby "Blue" Bland has died at age 83,after a long illness... condolences, and prayers go out to his family...

comments...

NFL.com ranked Lambeau Field as number one as a "must see" stadium... they even threw a funny curve in their ranking putting the Metrodome in Minnesota,as also number one... they were kidding... since the Metrodome is about to torn down for a new stadium, you get the joke... let me put it this way:the Metrodome is something like the Astrodome, which stands as a relic,of a bygone time... honestly,it is a dump...

a day at Lambeau Field...

it is a beautiful day at Lambeau Field... it would be a perfect day to watch football... hope NFL starts soon...

lesson on the game of Craps...

honestly,i am very good at the game of Craps... i have read, really read, two or three books on the method of playing Craps... i would never say that i have never walked out of a casino "whacked out"(which means empty pockets)many a time, but over the years,i have learned how to play the game, but it is tougher to really master the game of throwing the dice... i have lived a time or two on my winnings of the game, literally becoming a professional Craps player, but honestly,i enjoy gambling, but "working" the table most times makes me irritable,if played too long... the keys to gambling are:a)no alcohol,b)forget gambling when tired,c)have a loss limit, and a win limit,d)if you are losing:pay attention to loss limit, and then simply walk away, and e)if you are winning, pay attention to your win limit, and then simply walk away... mastering the game of Craps is never easy, but honestly,it is an easy game to play... final thing that i want to say:i only play serious Craps, but that is not often, because the game of Craps is fun to play, but playing it professionally,as i have done, really is a game that you can not play for too long(a couple of hours),because the concentration needed to play the game at the highest level is legendary...

NFL news...

there will an award to the player with the most sacks of the quarterback, starting in the 2014 NFL season... it will be named after the late, great Hall of Fame member David "Deacon" Jones...

a day at Lambeau Field...

they are watering the "Frozen Tundra",right now,on a beautiful day at Lambeau Field... too bad there is not football right now... that does suck rock...

comments...

it is the time between organized team activities(OTA's),and training camp, and so you find the pundits talking about who is top on the list of the top 100 players(Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson should be number one),or having reports on the trouble that New England Patriots wide receiver Aaron Hernandez might be in,because the police keep searching his house... what baloney,NFL!!!!!!!! talk about football, not baloney... honestly,i do not care a whit...

surprise NFL trivia...

name the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards,in first three seasons... hint:it is not Jim Brown... this player rushed for 1,105 yards,in 1971,1,027 yards,in 1972,and 1,144 yards in 1973... answer:John Brockington, who played for the Packers, and Kansas City Chiefs, from 1971-1977(he played part-time for the Chiefs,in 1977)... by the way,Brown rushed for 942 yards,in 1957,his first year in the NFL...

funny,but true...

Darrelle Revis wears number 24,and when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, from the New York Jets,Mark Barron wore the number,so Barron drove a hard bargain, and Revis paid $50,000,to him,for the use of the number...

commentary...

it is very odd to tell you that the Packers are not one of the favorites to win the NFC,this season... that distinction goes to Seattle,or San Francisco... however, the 49ers,and Seahawks may be trendy picks to win the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl, but like i have said earlier, rosters do not win Super Bowls, only playing the season determines that fact..... the fact that the Packers are being overlooked may be surprising to some, but not to me... the fact that the Packers' team defense has been not up to snuff, and that includes their running game, the last two years, only tells the pundits that the Packers are being overlooked,in terms of winning the Super Bowl, because the pundits just do not think that the defense or running game will improve that much... however, the Packers will have a more balanced offensive game plan(meaning a better running game),and if the team defense does gel throughout this season, the Packers will be tough to beat... the schedule makers in the NFL offices did not give the Packers any soft games on their schedule(sixth toughest schedule)... if they should get through that tough schedule, roughly intact, the schedule will prove to be a real plus, because they will be battle tested, and with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in control of that potent team offense,i will not be surprised if the Packers are one of the best teams in the NFL... early games against the 49ers and the Washington Redskins(the first two games of the season) will be a bellweather of the season, but expect the Packers to get better throughout the season, because the offense and defense will be inexperienced early on,but they really have very good talent on both sides of the football, and with the quality of the coaching staff, will give the Packers a more balanced team this season, unlike the last two years... the losses of Greg Jennings, and Desmond Bishop may hurt in the short term, but in the long term, the Packers will be better offensively, and especially,on the defensive side of the football... Jennings went to the Minnesota Vikings(big whoop!!!!!),and with Christian Ponder as their quarterback, and an offensive line that needs work, who is going to get him the football down the field??? Desmond Bishop was cut because of injury issues, but honestly with depth on the defensive side of the football,Bishop's release should be smaller,in impact,on the Packers... by the way,the Vikings are Adrian Peterson's team, with him being the engine of the team, and that fact gives the Vikings a legitimate shot at the playoffs, including a shot at the NFC North division crown... let us play the season before we say who is the best team in the NFL...

a beautiful day at Lambeau Field...

it is in the 70's,temperature-wise,and Lambeau Field looks beautiful, and i really wish i was sitting inside Lambeau Field watching NFL football,in my dreams....

NFL news...

recently retired Packers' wide receiver Donald Driver has said the he is staying in shape, and is open to come back to playing for the Packers, and only for the Packers, just in case of the Packers needing him to suit up for them during the season... i would ask Donald:does he need that???

commentary...

it has been reported the Farrell's Ice Cream Company is actually coming back to Sacramento... they shrank to a number of restaurants mostly in the southern United States... the head honcho of the company has said that in the past that he would get four or five e-mails a day asking that a franchise store be put back into Sacramento,so the company just bought a old Black Angus restaurant,on Watt Avenue, and says hopefully will open,in July 2013... to the twenty two(12 children, and 10 adults)who died on September 24,1972,in the infamous small plane crash into the Farrell's in the Crossroads shopping center,i say that may they never be forgotten, but honestly,it is time for the kids(and adults)enjoy Farrell's,again, and start to remember that Farrell's is meant to be fun... may Farrell's be fun for the kids... get a Farrell's Zoo,on me,folks... i do remember,folks...

someone call security,stat....

Arizona Cardinals quarterback coach Freddie Kitchens underwent successful surgery to repair his aorta this week, and was walking around team headquarters, saying good bye to some players... when head coach Bruce Arians saw him in the building,he tossed him out of the building(laughing)... way to go,Coach... another day in the NFL!!!!!!...

NFL news...

New England Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski will have back surgery on Tuesday;his fifth surgery since last season(four of the surgeries on broken forearm)... he had same back surgery on different disc,in,i believe,2007...

trivia,and comments...

in the 1958 NFL season, the season before Vince Lombardi became head coach, the Packers went 1-10-1:they tied the Detroit Lions,13-13,on October 5,1958,and on October 26,1958,they beat the Philadelphia Eagles,38-35... they were 0-6 on road, and 1-4-1,at City Stadium(renamed:Lambeau Field)... in the 1958 NFL draft, the Packers drafted Hall of Fame members Jim Taylor, and Ray Nitschke, along with the only member on the 50th anniversary All-NFL team, not in the Hall of Fame, guard Jerry Kramer... the coach:Ray "Scooter" McLean... in the immortal words of New York sportswriter, and Green Bay native,Red Smith:Smith said,"they overwhelmed one opponent, under whelmed ten,and whelmed one"... what a great quote...

a day at Lambeau Field...

i know that it is only June, but today would be a very, very nice day to play football at Lambeau Field, because i would love to be sitting in Lambeau Field watching football,if only in my imagination... what a beautiful day in Green Bay!!!!

trash talking between Rams and 49ers... big whoop!!!!!! zzzzzzz!!!!!

the players on the St. Louis Rams are trash talking the San Francisco 49ers,reminding then that it has been 528 days since the 49ers beat the Rams(Chris Long said that)... for your information, the Rams and 49ers tied in one game,24-24,i believe,in St. Louis, and the Rams beat the 49ers,in overtime,16-13,in San Francisco, last season, but honestly,it is not even training camp, and we get this baloney, from the NFL... who really cares... i surely do not care a whit... is football ever going to start??? they print this garbage as big news... what a real shame!!!!!!

Tim Tebow got signed by the New England Patriots... terms not disclosed...

0.000,and still a DUI...

ever hear of a man getting pulled over for a DUI,and having a breathalyzer test of 0.000,and still getting arrested??? in Surprise,Arizona,it does not pay to be a driver, with hip replacement surgery scheduled,in two days, and getting harassed by the police, getting handcuffed, taken two breathalyzer tests, one on side of road and one at police station, and still have a registered count of 0.000... what really sucks is that Jesse Thornton's license was suspended, car impounded, and he has to pay $5,000 to the Arizona Motor Division, because the police reported of his DUI arrest, and they suspended his license, even though charges were dropped, but not after the AMD got involved... funny thing is that one of the police officers said,"that it appeared to me that you are a DUI,because of your eyes"... Mr. Thornton replied,"i have been swimming at LA Fitness(a chain of gyms)"... after checking documents about the hip replacement surgery, the police still arrested him and put him through the humiliation of the arrest(and two breathalyzer tests),having his car impounded, and his license suspended... apparently, the Surprise,Arizona police department have stopped him ten times, given him four tickets on top of the erroneous arrest... my opinion:it appears that they really do not like him,for some reason? this comedy of errors started when Mr. Thornton crossed a white line in his lane of traffic... he(and his attorney) have sued the police department, for $50,000,claiming racial discrimination towards him... for his humiliation,i say,"go for it"....

Favre talks....

former Packers' quarterback, and future Hall of Fame member Brett Favre basically took ownership of the breakup between the Packers and him saying that,"i was at fault",for what happened between the Packers, and him... he was doing a radio interview on WGR,in Buffalo, promoting a "Hunter's Hope" charity auction... Hunter's Hope is a charity founded by Hall of Fame member, and former Buffalo Bills' quarterback Jim Kelly, whose son,Hunter, for which the charity is named... Favre had many compliments for Packers' president Mark Murphy, and Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and talked of his possible jersey retirement,in Green Bay...

D-Day always remembered...

on a weather stricken day, sixty nine years ago,Allied troops landed on the beaches of Europe, and began the feared invasion of "Axis Fortress Europe" that the Nazis said that never would happen, but actually feared... it was the beginning of the end of World War Two,which ended on May 7,1945,in Europe, with the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany... some troops did not get off the beaches for,i believe, three days, because of German resistance... to those troops who went ashore that day,and the days after that,i honestly salute, and tip my hat to their memory... they started to kick serious tail this day, sixty nine years ago...
