very unique MLB history...

had to note this history, folks:this is so odd,two position players pitched in the 9-6,17 inning,Baltimore Orioles win, over the Boston Red Sox,today... it was the first time since 1925,when Ty Cobb, and George Sisler both pitched in a game, between the Detroit Tigers, and the St. Louis Browns... Chris Davis, the Orioles' DH,at start of game, went 0-8,with five strikeouts, and still pitched two scoreless innings, for the win, first time since 1905,when Rube Waddell did the same thing,as Davis, and won the game that he pitched... they used nine pitchers apiece... Darnell McDonald,an outfielder, for the Red Sox,took the loss, when Adam Jones hit a three run home run, over "the Green Monster",in the top of the 17th inning...
