Packers/Panthers game notes...

can Cam Newton and the Panthers outscore the Packers' offense??? yes, only with defensive help... short fields throughout the game, and the game will be won by Carolina... turnovers and Carolina have a chance to win... the last time the Panthers played the Packers,it was Newton's third(oops, made a mistake)career game(Packers were Super Bowl XLV Champions),in 2011,and the Packers went down 13-0,and then bounced back in the second half, outscoring the Panthers,30-10,to win game,30-23,with a final 84 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers,to Jordy Nelson,to ice game... former Packers' cornerback Charles Woodson had two interceptions, and former All Pro Nick Collins played in his last game(injured his neck on a tackle),and even though the Packers went 15-1,in 2011,the defense never recovered that year... i remember that game, because Newton became a star with that game... last year, the Panthers' defense was one of the NFL's best, but this year the defense has not gelled, like last year, but has potential to gel,but two defensives main cogs(Frank Alexander, and Greg Hardy)will not play, because of off field issues... both teams' running games have potential to tear up both defenses... Packers' key on defense:make Cam Newton beat you,by stopping their potent running attack... with him recovering(still)from off-season ankle surgery,he is running less than normal, but ran for 107 yards last week, and had his best overall game,in 2014... Panthers' key on defense:cover the Packers' wide receivers like a glove, and try to rattle quarterback Aaron Rodgers,by giving him no time to pass, sacking him as many times as you can... keep both offenses off the field, and make the game a slugfest, and it will be an interesting game to watch... in other words,i expect a shootout, but the team with a critical turnover,at the right time, has the advantage to win the game... it may come down to a field goal, and both field goal kickers are very good... Packers are tough to beat at home,so who knows???
