in my life,part 7...

there are times that some songs remind me of my crazy life "on the road"(1989-1999)... people sometimes ask me if i miss it... oddly,i do,but not for the reasons you honestly may think that i miss it... i do not miss the sleep arraignments every night, the sleeping under a tree, the sleeping in a movie theater, the days never ending with a eternal tan,and so on... strangely, the one thing that i miss is the fact that when i woke up,i was in a different place... seeing the sunrise over the Nevada desert, walking in Zion Canyon with a deer walking by when it is summertime, seeing the Bonneville Salt Flats when hitchhiking from Reno to Salt Lake City, walking through the Hudson River Valley in New York State, getting mugged in White Plains,New York, and having to hitchhike through New York state,Pennsylvania, and Ohio, before getting a bus ticket,in Akron,Ohio, with help from the Catholic Church(had to verify that i got mugged, also with help from the Akron police department),seeing the Grand Canyon,in a blizzard(actually not,but was there),in 1994,speeding at 110 mph,in a 1960's Porsche, going from Reno to Las Vegas, and standing outside the Mirage that same night, hitchhiking from Reno to Albuquerque,in fifteen hours(got a ride in Kingman,Arizona,in fifteen seconds),and went to a triple film fest on Central Avenue, that night, spending four days in bed, with botulism,in Kingman,Arizona(almost died),staying in a wood shack,in Springdale,Utah, shoveling coal, into a heater, watching Super Bowl XXVII,on a small black and white television,on an army cot,and finally arriving in New Haven,Connecticut,Memorial Day Sunday,1994,at 2:15 am.,walking through the town, and then getting cursed at by
a newspaper man,for asking him what time it was... that is what i really miss, the crazy adventures every day,and i could go on,and on... people may not understand why i would miss that, but i do,because that part of being "on the road" was actually fun... i would not do it again, but it was an unique way to travel, and meeting very good people, who would help me along the way...
